“One of the best pizzas I have had! Tasted absolutely amazing and the food came very quick! Also had cheesecake for desert which was incredible! Price was decent, would 100% come back here! Definitely book a table as the restaurant was very busy around dinner time.”

“Arrived in York and wandered round from where we were staying. We popped in on the off chance. Excellent decision! Staff very friendly and attentive, atmosphere lovely and both my husband and I had the best pizzas we have had in a very long time- the base was light and crisp, toppings we plenty and tasty. We will definitely come back during our visit here.”

“Had my 40th birthday lunch here with 25 members of my family. Excellent food, fantastic service, all with a smile. It was the perfect venue to look after such a big party and they did exceptionally well, comes highly recommended and I shall definitely be going back. The salad bar was great and the selection of meats they brought round was extensive and every single one was delicious. Absolutely faultless.”

“We’ve been to Ambiente a few times now and it’s always been a brilliant experience with a great atmosphere. Everyone is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our server was Lorien and she was so lovely. The food was, as usual, absolutely delicious. 5 tapas between us was just right, but we’re not big eaters. The calamari was exceptional. We had a great time and will definitely be going again then next time we’re in York.”

“Quick and clean street food. My friend had the tofu bahn mee and I had these 5 spice chicken loaded chips with siracha mayo. Plenty going on in the open section of Leeds Market. Proper street food atmosphere”

“Stayed at the inn for the weekend. Rooms are nice and clean. Right next to the pub, but you can't hear it, even the live music. Pub is lovely. Maybe the menu is lacking choice, but the pizzas are really delicious. Parking doesn't have number plate recognition anymore so no issues with it. There's no breakfast, but café across the road is serving sandwiches and cakes.”

“Quirky and fun! The decor is all kinds of classic English history with a hearty splash of irreverence, split across a couple buildings that feel like homes rather than a hotel. The room itself was small, but that suited me perfectly — great for a solo traveller. Only thing to note is I’m somewhat tall for a woman and on that bed I just about could touch my toes to the window sill while my head was by the headboard. I thought it was quite fun but taller people might want to take note. Everything was neat and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The walls are a little thin, like in any old house, so you can hear some bustling in the morning, but I personally found that endearing. The staff were very kind and friendly, and even introduced me to the hotel cat, Teddy! The location is great, just a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of town. I come through York frequently so I can say with certainty and delight that I’ll be staying here again! Thanks again to the staff for a lovely experience.”

“Wow what a perfect spot! The food from here is amazing! Even though I'm not a vegan, and this really does beat 90% of other traditional burger and chicken spots. The food is so fresh and delicious and am told is full of protein! The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for date nights. Can't recommend this place enough!”

“We have been coming to Bosuns since it opened and enjoyed a family birthday meal here yesterday. It continues to impress and the service on this busy Thursday steak night was absolutely outstanding. Jess never stopped smiling and was exceptionally polite and Alex was just as good, funny and charming. Exemplary service from these two which really matched the quality of the food. We all enjoyed the steak, which was cooked perfectly as ordered. Absolutely fantastic restaurant and well deserving of its reputation and very good value on a Thursday steak night.”

“One of my favourite Thai places in York. The food here is absolutely delicious and great as a dine in or takeaway option. The gluten free options are clearly labelled on the menu with quite a few different dishes being gf. The only thing to note is that when I said I was a coeliac, I was told the gf labelled fish cakes wouldn't be suitable due to cooking methods creating cross contamination. While it is really good that the staff are so well trained in dietary requirements and were able to tell me this clearly to prevent me from getting poorly, it is a shame that something labelled gluten free on the menu wasn't ultimately suitable for coeliacs. They instead advised a different gluten free starter which ended being fantastic.”

“If you're looking for something fresh and lighter than most places, you might want to try FeVa's omelettes. They come with chips or salad, and the portions are abundant. Also, amazing view from the tables!”

“Ordered tonight a large order of £75 and we ordered around 6 main dishes and every single person commented how beautiful the food was!! Everything was full of flavour and tasty , we collected our order and the place was spotless clean & big open kitchen 10/10!! We are from West Yorkshire and are fussy about Chineese food but I highly recommend this place”

There’s lots of info on arrival about paying cash and latest pricing so customers have all the info to make a choice - it’s a really hard time with cost of living for everyone, totally supportive and faultless communication. We’ll definitely be back, it’s the best takeaway we’ve had in York!”

“Excellently located near to both the railway station and city centre. A lovely warm reception was given and our room was just what was needed. Very clean, comfy bed, fridge & refreshments and plenty of sockets to charge the gadgets! A lovely 5 minute walk along the river and you’re in the city.”

“An absolutely bloody exceptional meal. Lamb chops, still slightly pink, seasoned to perfection. Complex curries, very spicy, but still delicious and enjoyable. Lovely chippies, massively tasty naan bread. Not exactly service with a smile but professional enough not to detract from the experience. Best part? The price. Two course meal for two and three alcoholic drinks for less than £70. Outstanding. Best curry house in York and definitely in our top three country-wide. Will be thinking about this meal for a while...”

“Our second visit here, after enjoying our first visit so much! Shrija looked after us very well, very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious, so well cooked and presented, and the Cobra slipped down a treat! If you find yourself in York looking for something special then you should definitely try Coconut Lagoon.”
