“It isn’t often I give 5 star but this place deserves it! Before you even get chance to walk in the place, staff are already greeting you and asking how we were. The staff were friendly throughout the whole service and were very welcoming/accommodating as I had a young baby. The food was amazing! There is a large selection so there will definitely be something for everyone! On this occasion, we went for one of the set menus which is great value for what you get. The portions were perfect sizes and there was not a long wait time. If I lived in/near York, this place would definitely be a regular stop for me!”

“Stayed for two nights and was not disappointed. The room was large and spacious with a king sized sleigh bed (so anyone over six feet tall can comfortably stretch out) and bathroom with roll-top bath and period fixtures and fittings. There were also high ceilings due to the era this property is from and the decor has been kept pretty much in keeping with that time period so it has a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent, extremely tasty and well presented, the service was first rate and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.”

Although, there are a lack of mirrors in places other than the changing rooms upstairs. If you're trying to casually try bits on, it's a little hard to find somewhere to see yourself. Whenever I come into the York city, this is the main place I go as they're so few and far between. Very great store!”
