“I didn't stay as a guest, we attended a convention there. And the place was absolutely stunning, so many pretty details. The rooms were really spacious, and laid out so disability access was nice. There were lifts as we as stairs, and it was a wonderful day. There were plenty of places to sit and rest as needed.”
“Hotel room was spacious and had all the necessary facilities available such as in room iron and full-size ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, WiFi in room and public areas. Food was of a very good standard with the included breakfast as I had dinner elsewhere. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only issue is the location is a long way from the city centre meaning taxi service is expensive to use and buses are at least 15 min walk which with luggage could be an issue.”
“Stayed here and watched Grease in the outdoor theatre, admittedly not the first time I have been here (obviously good as I keep coming back) again service was great, room was very clean, the show and it's every one involved in it were fantastic. A fabulous place to stay.”
“My wife and I absolutely loved the privacy and quiet of the Robins Retreat roundhouse. The accommodation was spotless and had just enough room for our one week stay. The hot tub provided welcome evening relaxation with our own sheltered spot to appreciate the wildlife.”
“This is historic place open till 9 pm and u pay only car park charges approx 5 gbp”
“The building is great but does anyone know its opening hours?”
“A very large reserve. With about 30 hides to visit you will need to be selective if you are only there for one day. All hides we entered had identification guides on the walls and were in good condition. A well maintained path network between hides. A large visitor centre with a viewing gallery.”
“We had the pleasure of staying in the Mange Tout apartment for 2 nights. It was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 bedrooms and a lovely little outside area. The views were great, beds comfy. We visited the local pub, Horse & Jockey, and had a lovely dinner. Also had 2 brilliant breakfasts in Oakham - The Larder & The Hungry Birds. Topped our visit with a day in Stamford and lunch in the coutyard of The George and Rutland Aqua Park. Fab couple of days- thank you.”
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The rooms were bright, spacious and comfortable with a delicious breakfast. Melanie and Kevin go above and beyond - thank you so much!”
“Amazing food, friendly staff, cannot fault definitely recommend”
“A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful walks, picnic area, refreshments and a playground. What more could you ask for.”
“Deli 1880 provided us with a fabulous lunch for important business visitors. Our visitors were impressed, and enjoyed something fresh and far better than the average working lunch spread. I highly recommend Deli 1880 to others and will be using them again.”
“Lovely lunch with family, food was excellent, very generous portions, hot and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful”
“Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food , can’t stop coming back . The pizzas here are 10/10”
“Really good one, lots of animals, different activities, lamb hugging on the day we visited. We had tractor rides which my tot love it, they also got tractor toy so kid can hop on and pedalling (included in ticket) They also have small motor museum of vintage automobiles (included in ticket) they are sooo COOL. But downsides are toilets sign is pretty confusing and cutlery in cafe wasn’t clean but carrot cake is soooo good!!”
“There is a great walking track around the reservoir that spans 24 kilometers in a circuit. I previously walked this route with my family as a practice before the West Highland Way. It's an excellent track to prepare for a long hike. The best time to walk the circuit is early in the morning - peace and quiet. Although most of the car park doesn’t open until 7:00 or 9:00 am, there are a few street parking spaces available near Barnsdale. I found that walking in the early hour provides the best sighting for birdwatching enthusiasts.”
“A great place for a day out with your family. There are many activities to enjoy, including cycling, walking, and fishing(flies fishing only). You can also bring your own games like tech rings or football. There is a large shop for cycle hire and another one for fishing equipment, both of which close at 16:00. If you love BBQs, you can bring your own supplies and have a proper BBQ party on-site, as BBQs are allowed. Additionally, there is a café where you can enjoy hot or cold drinks. One downside I found is that there is a lot of dog stool on the grass, so be careful where you step.”
“We just went for a spontaneous breakfast and it was really nice. Lady on the floor was very welcome and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Lovely chilled vibes too.”
“It's for sure, a hidden gem of Leicestershire - located just south of Anstey, it has some magnificent views, especially when you get to the fields, the views are excellent, and there's barely anyone here, although you can subtlety hear the sound of traffic on the Leicester western by pass - it's not to loud and should foe the most part be quiet and relaxing.”
“The NSC is an amazingly well curated museum with interactive elements and immersive shows in the Patrick Moore Planetarium inside, shows last 25mins. They even have a real rocket! and you can take a lift to see it from above. It's well suited to kids and adults (we never grow up really) and you can touch space objects and interact with some scientific tools and even play some games to test your astronaut potential! I spent 2ish hours there and there's still more that I didn't get a chance to experience. Tickets were £20 & that gets you an annual pass. The cafe they have is great too, they do hot food and good coffee and even an awesome giftshop! You gotta go :]”
“Castle Park is a lovely green space in the middle of Leicester. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the busy city, with lovely green spaces, historic ruins, and the gentle flow of the River Soar nearby. It’s clean, quiet, and great for a walk or quick break.”

“Lovely green park and play area's. My three yr old grandson had a great time. The tractor driver, who was mowing the grassy area's very kindly waved to my grandson, and made his day! Well worth a visit by everyone.”
“So busy visited 28th December. A lot sold out but a delicious cup of soup, and hot chocolate and coffee enjoyed. Very friendly staff. Under pressure from the crowds coped so well! Great cafe in obviously a beautiful surrounding”
“I think it is under new management and the cafe is now really worth a visit. Cheaper than those outside the park and lots of great family-friendly lunch options. £4 for the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had.”
“I have lived here for three years now , the staff have been consistently helpful, friendly, and kind. Whenever I need assistance, they are always prompt and attentive. The apartments offer beautiful views of Leicester city centre and the river. The communal spaces include a lovely terrace and a well-equipped gym.”
“Great service. Go above and beyond. Would highly recommend.”
