“What a great find! We arrived 8.45am Saturday morning... To a fairly typical older style open airy (plenty of seating) roadside cafe. Receiving a pleasant welcome we ordered coffee and a teacakes each.... In the time it took me to walk next door to Londis/petrol station and back for paracetamol the coffees and teacakes arrived.... Teacakes we're fresh and tasty with real butter... The coffee was dark roast good tasting and perfect strength. Value was excellent, other establishments easily £3-5 more. Casting an eye over the menu... Bearing in mind everything is freshly cooked, it was very good value. Other reviews criticing value surely cannot be comparing like for like. When I popped next door for the paracetamols the londis fuel stop included a Starbucks and Greggs, why on earth would anyone consider pre packed, long shelf life produce? Support the independents....”

“We had the cheese and onion pie with mash and chips/roasties and vegetables and gravy and it was incredible. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.”

“17th December 2025 Wandering Wednesday took Hubby and I not too far away, to The Rams Head in Grappenhall, Warrington. This picturesque little, tiny cobblestone village is so beautiful, especially when it’s been snowing, picture postcard and I’m sure filming has been done there in the past, only a couple of pubs, couple of houses and a beautiful church. The menu has plenty to offer but with it being near to Christmas, we both decided to go with something lighter as Christmas is full of rich heavy foods…. So on that note we both had the same: Ole faithful…. Fish and chips, accompanied with minted mushy peas, curry sauce and creamy tartar sauce, we both ordered a couple of slices of bread and butter. Our servers were very professional, polite and attentive, I only got the name of one of the ladies, Lauren…. Who is a totally credit to this establishment, thank you for today Lauren. Food was piping hot and tastsy.”

“I had the Ramen with pork belly. Simply yummy, but if you can't eat spicy food, let them know. It's a very big portion, perhaps a little too much for small eaters.Also ordered the bao bun but yet to try it, so can't comment yet.”

“The food from Aros is great, we are regulars here and always get the share boxes. We had chicken and steak, the food is always great quality and really tasty. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Worth the trip for a takeaway or eat in ! Must try the punch as well it’s sooo good”

“I love this place, it's one of my favourite restaurants. I usually come here with my son who's 16, as he loves eating here. We've been on a Monday a few times during half term when it's half price. Great value, friendly staff. Can't fault it. I hope it reopens when restaurants are allowed to open again, as we'd love to have another meal here.”

“Came here with my work for a meal and drinks. We all sat out in the courtyard which I thought was very nice. There were all these huts around a fire pit and the they were all shielded from the sun which was great as it was a super hot day. They did also have heaters underneath all of them so would be a great place to sit out on a cold day as well. The food came out and it looked amazing. I ordered the 8oz ribeye steak.”

It was our 1st time eating out on christmas day and will for sure 100% be back next year ! We didn't have any issues, though, a few comments to be made regarding choices for the gluten-free menu, which I have raised already with GK, though it didn't dampen our days . The 0% was a delightful treat, and we were so glad we felt like we were 100% enjoying the christmas spirits . All snr staff were happy and delightful as always . “Polite staff, fresh food and giant portions. Open late in city centre, definitely worry a visit if in town and looking for a good feed. Chicken was cooked to order, plenty of spice.”

“This pub has improved massively since last time I went and that was when it first opened The service was fantastic from a young blonde girl (I didn’t get her name) confident , polite and has great customer service skills The pizza was amazing too only down side it had a little too much seasoning on it but still edible One fault but it’s Holts fault not the pubs but the Diamond and Crystal lager is absolutely terrible and needs actual draught beers”

“Allergy taken seriously which is great. Nothing worse than having a life threatening allergy and having to worry that kitchen staff do not understand the severity. Manager personally made my food helping to avoid cross contamination and assured me my allergen had not been on the grill and he had not touched it at anytime before preparing my food. Well done McDonald’s”
