“10/10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and spa. Lots of free parking available on arrival we were offered a complimentary cookie (vegan and gluten free option available) which was a lovely touch. The spa was beautiful and treatments were amazing. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was also very nice and clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The food in the garden room was amazing thanks to the chef James and our server Ava was amazing and made sure my dietary requirements were met. Breakfast was also great. Overall 10/10 experience and I’ll be back”

“Loads to choose from good range of tents and sleeping bags , needed advice on which tent to get for when we go camping so asked a guy called jake who was great help gave us advice on all the tents on how durable the tents were and which ones would be ideal space wise, once we had chose the tent we wanted he showed us where to get the tent from and then said if we needed anymore help with anything to let him know”

“Friendly staff, a good variety of machines and free weights. The Total Fitness–branded machines aren’t the best, but overall the facilities are excellent. I visited on a day pass so I can’t comment on the pricing, but I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I would highly recommend this gym.”

“Took our 5yo here for a friend's birthday party. Staff were welcoming and lovely, facilities were well managed, clean and in great condition. Large screen for entertainment plus large on-site cafe serving freshly cooked food and drinks. All in all a fantastic place to visit with young children.”

“Absolutely fantastic place for the kids. Lots of them to do. They had a amazing time, although we didn't eat each food seemed very reasonable priced. Trail was amazing so much for them to do along the way. Been wanting to come here for a few years. Can't believe it's taken so long. Definitely will be going back.”

“This place is wonderful! Great price for the stay, well worth it. The included breakfast was phenomenal. The grounds are breathtaking. The gym and leisure club (pool, steam room) were very nice. The sauna needs (technical) work, because it wasn’t really heating well. Did not have a chance to place golf, but it looked to be in pristine condition, and challenging. Rooms are clean and very well kept. The towels were plush, pillows and beds very comfortable.”

“Great place for young children and families. So many activities to choose from covering a wide age range, from 5-15 year olds. Generous portions served in the restaurant with a decent selection too. Naturally an enormous selection of ice creams too choose from. Fairly expensive but a worthwhile day out!”

“Beautiful stay again at Thornton Hall hotel. Old school service where customers are valued, the staff are so friendly. Rooms are spotless and so comfortable. Great deals at the moment where you can use the spa as well. The spa is a special place so relaxing. Just love this hotel I have been many times and just feel it gets better with each visit.”

“A small car park, leads to a good size park. It is dog friendly. With a lovely climbing frame for children. It has a pretty lake with ducks. A good size walk area for dogs on paths and grass areas. Also seating around and nice grass areas for picnics. Could do with a few more bins. Also a good walkway for cycling around. Saw lots of bikers and dogs while we were there. Will definitely come again.”

“Great playground with water splash area on the river. Picnic tables and benches. Plenty of areas for sun and shade. Good clean toilets. Clever duck feed dispensing machine to feed ducks. Well worth a visit.”

“Came to the sports club for a kickboxing event as my daughter was competing.... well cared for by the staff as I also had my other children with me,one who is autisitc and blind..... a fantastic day and she came out with 1st place and 3x 2nd places”

“Good gym with lots of equipment. Suitable for all types of workouts. The pool is also good, but can get a little busy at times. Otherwise, the invigor8 membership options are great and cheaper to other gyms I've found. They are open every day and also have many activity classes to join in with. Would definitely recommend.”

“I am the Introductory Instructor at Family Martial Arts in Chester and it is really important for me to train hard and stay fit to be a good role model for our students. I am so impressed by the great facilities and very friendly staff at Christleton Sports Centre. Each time I have taken part in the Christleton 5k the staff have been really helpful, offering to look after my kitbag and providing showers and changing facilities after the race. A great place with a brilliant atmosphere - highly recommended!”

“Currently undergoing a refurb with limited facilities, but they've also provided a vastly reduced membership cost to reflect this. Really friendly, all ages environment with something for everyone. Diverse range of ages, genders, and races in attendees, which is always a good sign to indicate a welcoming environment - which was something I was nervous about when first joining a fitness centre! Never experienced any discrimination as a gay couple who attend together, staff are kind and helpful. Beginner friendly, just ask at the reception if you need any guidance how to get started with a facility or class.”
