“we attended a meeting a the village and it was exceptional, from the service to the standard. Shelby was very informative and offered the best prices but also made our stay 10/10. Thank you for making us feel so welcome”
“Stayed for 2 nights last weekend. The staff were very helpful and welcoming especially the young lady on reception and the lady looking after us in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was as expected, clean and perfectly acceptable. It was also a great location for exploring Liverpool without staying in the city itself as it was only a 5 min walk from the nearest train station.”
“My dog has just stayed with Chris for 4 days and she has had a brilliant time. Chris has given her loads of lovely walks, great care and attention. I highly recommend The Peninsula Pet Care services. I will certainly be booking my dog in with Chris again when I have any holidays abroad.”

“Stayed here for a wedding. A beautiful location, staff were lovely, room was clean, light, bright and had everything we needed. The food was lush and plentiful.”
“We have been taking our dogs here for a few years. They are happy to go and we are happy with the way they are cared for. The fact we can take their own food means no upset tummies when we get them back. We also take their own bedding and toys. We get a small discount for 2 in a bed and for our own food. Their accommodation is big and heated when needed. Hayley and Mike and their staff are professional but very friendly. Our 5 dogs love them and we highly recommend them.”
“Great place to exercise your dog. Always tidy and well presented and most importantly - secure. Unlike many dog parks, the field is well drained so even after heavy rain the field is usable without getting in a real mess”
“This place will really take you by surprise! I and a few friends took a history/heritage tour a little earlier in the year, and the sheer amount of unexpected stories that this place had to tell was epic! I don't even want to spoil them for you - see if you can go on a tour for yourself! Visiting also means you get to explore Bidston Hill itself, which also has an old lighthouse right next door (which is now a brilliant little book shop and mini museum), a windmill, the Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm, and all of the nature trails on the hill itself. There are even some ancient carvings dotted around the hill.”
“My two dogs have been staying here frequently since they were puppies; they’ve used both the daycare and the boarding services. Staff know them well, so it’s like a second home. Staff are all very caring, and the dogs have made lots of doggy friends there too! There is so much for the dogs to do - including indoor and outdoor play, e.g. paddling pool, trampoline, lots of toys and other dogs to play with - so they never get bored; it’s a much better option than standard kennels.”
“I booked the hotel for family who have some very specific requirements. They did there utmost to meet these and I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. We have eaten many times in the Pesto restaurant and have always enjoyed the food and friendly service”
“My dog Jasper gets really excited when he has a day at day care at Kim’s , both Kim and Paul are great with him and his development as a rescue in progress has been enhanced by being in such a pro dog environment where he is kept busy and treated like one of the family and behave like a dog should. Best day care and stay over we have used, totally recommended .. thanks both Kim and Paul.”
“We recently left our 9 month old kitten, Coco to stay with Ann at Cosy Cats for her first visit to a cattery. I was a bit nervous to leave her, but as soon as I saw the lovely garden and stylish comfortable pod she was staying in, all fears and guilt were alleviated! We collected her last night and she was happy and chilled and I know she was very well looked after. Thanks Ann!”
“Our Guinea Pigs were well looked after by Alison & Andy and they had a nail trim too. Large enclosure for the Guinea pigs to go in and received daily pictures and updates.”
“We adopted a 6 month old pup and I was so nervous to go on holiday and leave her. I did a lot of research to find the right boarder and came across Alan at Canine Lodge. Alan has sooooo much experience so it felt like the best option. We went for a meet and greet and he was very calming, which is so important for an anxious pup. Well, we've picked her up today and she was been very well cared for! She has also been able to socialise with others which is fantastic. When she saw me she was sooo happy and jumping all over her but also when back to Alan too for cuddles which shows how much she likes him too. We could enjoy our holiday knowing she was cared for and wouldn't hesitate to use Canine Lodge again in future. Thanks so much! Love from Minnie and the family xx”
“Very clean and calm. Like this cattery as it doesn't have a kennels as well, so no barking dogs to upset the cats. My cat is quite timid so suits her well. Staff are friendly too. Have been using Acorn for 2 years now and would recommend it.”
“Had a lovely wake at the Peel Hey Hotel as it was one of my Nan's favourite place for afternoon tea. The food was excellent: the homemade scones were top notch. Also the staff were very kind and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a better send off.”
“Clean, warm, welcoming, very convenient to the Belfast ferry - and incredibly good value. What more could you want? (Breakfast over the road!).”
“Check in was quick and easy. Great location- so easy to jump back on the motorway. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Carpets were very worn but generally very clean and fresh soft towels in room on arrival.”
“Excellent location, comfortable bed, clean and warm place with gentle staff.”
