“Great place. More like a large microbrewery than a pub. Limited selection of draft beers, but there's something for everyone. Service and staff are great, very friendly. Average prices for the area, and a nice little courtyard in the back and some unusual upstairs seating. A really nice place to visit.”

There were 4 hand pumps on today. 3 real ales and a real cider The staff were ace The beers i had /a Hawks Head pale/was in fine fettle This pub, when drinking real ale in Ormskirk, is a must to come and have a pint in Saturday 14th November 2025 Today I again visited this superb micro/real ale bar This 1 roomed pub had 4 hand pulled ales on offer from local and small breweries Friendly well run easy going pub with great clientelle easy going background music This pub for real ales is a essential visit when in Ormskirk”

“Excellent beer and friendly staff. The regulars are welcoming and talkative. Usually right excellent draft beers and extensive bottle and can selection. Food provider by a series of guest caterers: always compliment the beers and outstanding value Dog friendly too and if you’re coming by train they’ve created a live departure board to ensure that you don’t miss your train”

“The daughter dropped me off with her two dogs to mind while she had to do girly stuff !! Some 3 hours later, I got picked up In them 3 hours staff were excellent with keeping me hydrated!! But more importantly, the dogs were treated with a bowl of cold water First time in establishment, very friendly attentive staff , i will definitely go again without the two pooches Thank you for the hospitality”

“I'm getting to like this place more now. Have been going for a while now and it's been hit and miss, but went in Sunday and had Cains. They have kept their cask really well so well done lads. Nice chilled atmosphere which is what we all strive from a micropub and separates these guys from a run of the mill gaff. Plus the background tunes made it great. Really great.Personal opinion, I know its a local brewery and we should always support them but sometimes Neptune is not the greatest BUT that said it is a personal opinion and overall this is a fantastic micropub so thankyou to you guys for the brilliant job your doing. I really appreciate it having something REAL in the vicinity as I'm sure everyone who drinks there also thinks . Thankyou guys”

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a rude encounter with the supervisor, who not only exhibited poor manners but also got my order wrong.
