“Excellent fun at the Lock and Quay music festival on Saturday. My kids and partner absolutely loved it, especially the bucking bronco which was free for everyone to go on. The horse rides were a great idea and we were so lucky with the weather and the use of the field at the back too. Thanks for arranging it all too.”

“Lovely friendly pub with a real countryside feel. Friendly staff and a great selection of drinks, including real ales and IPAs. A pub fire to die for, very cosy in the winter. No food served, but you can get pork pies on Fridays which are very tasty. Fantastic place.”

“A few minutes walk from the centre, and unfortunately for me , in the wrong direction for the football ground. Just time for a quick pint of excellent Ossett porter. Five handpulls and a big selection of craft beers. The pies looked very tempting.”

“We had our wedding at The Inn at Huxley on 30.11.2024 and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue is absolutely beautiful – rustic with wooden beams that create such a warm, charming atmosphere, and the ceremony space with its glass doors made for the most stunning backdrop. The outdoor areas are equally gorgeous and added so much to the day. The food was incredible – our guests kept telling us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and we couldn’t agree more. Every course was exceptional. We had to change our date last minute and nothing was ever too much trouble. Clive was amazing throughout the entire process – supportive, responsive, and always available whenever we needed help or reassurance. The Inn at Huxley is a truly special venue, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our day there. We cannot recommend it highly enough!”

“Another fabulous dinner at The White Horse. You can tell the ingredients are of a high quality and the food is prepared with appreciation and great attention to detail. The flavours are stunning and each dish seasoned to perfection. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the evening. A very well run establishment and deserves to do so well. “Incredible service, atmosphere and even better food. I was in yesterday lunchtime for some food and a coffee. The sirloin steak with a side of garlic new potatoes blew me away with how good it was. Cooked to perfection and full of flavour, easily the best sirloin steak I’ve had and portion was huge. I’m not local but I will certainly be travelling the 75 miles each way to come back here very soon.”

“My girlfriend found this place on the internet so we tried it out while we were in Southport , the place was quiet due to the fact the Champions league final was on and everyone was in the bars! As soon as we walked in we were made to feel as home by the gaffer, he couldn't do enough for us! The food was good and so was the Turkish beer, we chose different dishes from the Greek, Turkish and Spanish tapas menu and left full to the brim. The bill was a reasonable price too. We were very impressed by the interior of this restaurant and by the lovely painted Murals on the wall of different parts of the med. We had a lovely time and would recommend a visit here!”

“Lovely place, took my daughter for her birthday, she’s pescatarian and there was a good choice for her. We had the roast beef Sunday lunch which was really well cooked and pink as we like it. My daughter had the herb crusted cod which looked lovely, she cleared her plate. Wine was of good quality, all in all a brilliant place for a special occasion. Portions are very big and I couldn’t finish mine regretfully as it was delicious.”
