“I left a review three years ago saying how good this place is. Especially for people who are moving to the city and are students. Today, I am leaving a new review. As I just had my last haircut with Gaz after visiting him every 3 weeks for 3 years. Throughout the 3 years I have been using est22 barbers I have had amazing haircuts but also had such a laugh and a good time every time I visited. Gaz and the rest of the team aren’t just barbers, they are genuinely wonderful caring people. Gaz is a great guy who I’m going to miss a lot. After years of squeezing me in, offering me beers and coffees, playing great tunes and doing incredible trim. Gaz and est22 will be missed. If you’re moving to the city or are already here and need a new barber. Honestly, look no further than this place. Much love est22 ❤️”
“In the days of airport chaos checking in and delays, flying from John Lennon airport was faultless and even better being hosted by Johnathan and Owen who showed professionalism beyond expectations. Great way to start our trip to South France”
“Myself and my parents have been here multiple times now for a Sunday Roast Dinner and we've never been disappointed. The food is always delicious, the staff are always welcoming and friendly and happy to do anything to make your time there enjoyable. I took my parents there for their anniversary and the owners arranged for their song to be played which was the highlight of their day. You really couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend The Queens Nook to anyone wanting lovely food with a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be back.”
“What a fun unique restaurant! From the moment you walk in Paulo , The chef/owner, welcomes you with open arms. He customized each one of our party of 8 dinners. He wants to know your level of spices , add this or that , what ever flavors you would like he can create. He had a wonderful wine list to complete our meals. It is a fun enjoyable dining experience! We would definitely go back to his restaurant!”
“A Hidden Gem with Delicious Breakfast and Charming Vibes We visited this lovely local café and were absolutely delighted! It's such a cute and cozy spot, perfect for a relaxing morning with family. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We ordered the mushroom with poached egg and the salmon with cream cheese scrambled eggs—both dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the high quality of the ingredients. The coffee was just as impressive—smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. The café is located in a pleasant area, and the interior is tastefully decorated with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Everything felt thoughtful and well put together. A definite must-visit if you're in the area and love good food with great vibes!”
“Amazing place - found via Michelin Guide. Food quality was beyond expectations - particularly the foccaccia was super tasty. Variety was perfect and everything was very fresh. Location and the atmosphere of the restaurant are perfect too! Highly recommended to visit - worth to make a reservation.”
“Great addition to West Derby Village, nice new bar opened today so very clean, lovely classy decor and very relaxed ambience. Popped in on way back from a wander to Croxteth Country Park and was made very welcome. Will be going again.”
“This bar is well worth a try. Decent range of Real Ales all served in good condition. A good range of bottled Belgian and German beers also on offer. Friendly staff and locals.”
“Excellent selection of ever changing hand-pull beers, usually contains a stout.”
“Popped in for a drink on the way home from the Southport food and drink festival. Was lovely to sit outside and have a drink in the sun so much so we stayed for another one”
“Great little pub on the canal side. Bar man was super friendly and welcoming. Shame I’m not local but would definitely recommend when passing.”
“Stayed in one of the lodges and cant recommend it enough. Clean, modern, great views and of course a hot tub. All the facilities you'd expect and more. Can't wait to visit again. So peaceful and quiet. Felt like you were in the middle of nowhere amd it was very private, despite having two other lodges next door.”
“Exelent pub and music venue, top quality music and great staff running the Place, safe friendly environment but still loud and fun atmosphere, n £2.70 for a house larger in a city is the icing on the cake. Highly recommended”
“Fantastic micropub great selection of beers and spirits and the best landlady any one could have and the best customers too”
“Fabulous little country village pub. Lots of nooks and crannies in addition to the public bar. Fine selection of real ales supported by wines and spirits. Lots of tracks and trails to walk and build a thirst. Beer garden also for fine days.”
“A real pub. Brilliant food. Very welcoming. They were not serving food on Sunday evening but Vicki made up two pizzas for us to take home and cook in our holiday cottage.Old fashioned pub clearly supported by locals. Wish it was my local”
“Went to Black Door this morning. I had the breakfast my friend had the avocado, both meals were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The staff member was great, very welcoming. We had gone for a catch up and weren’t made to feel rushed at all. Highly recommend this cafe.”
“I took my husband for an afternoon tea at this lovely little place. It is quaint, serves lovely food, the staff were so friendly nothing was too much trouble, couldn't have done more to give us a lovely experience. Booked through buy a gift as it was a present but can go directly through them.”
“Food is best in Runcorn - fresh proper cooking. Very flavourful. The soft tacos are amazing, loaded fries and burgers all better than most big city places. Chips are some of best I've had anywhere. Staff are super friendly and food is cooked quick whilst still being top quality. Great atmosphere for drinking and cocktails always nice, good variety of drinks, great atmosphere. Always doing takeout food at the weekend as a treat and food value compared to others in Runcorn”
“Great beer selection, nice staff, great vibe!”
“Lovely pub, did a great job accommodating for our large family birthday party (12 people). The food was delicious, all cooked to perfection and fresh. Maybe my only qualm would be that portions were too big- only one member of our party finished their meal, and we didn't get the chance to try any dessert!”
“Light lunch, in a lovely setting, previously we've sat out in the garden sat inside today and always had lovely food and excellent service, friendly, helpful staff.”
“This is a proper locals pub, I only ever found about this place because a mate told me about it. The pub itself from the outside looks like it isn't open lol, and the sign is half hanging off but when you go in there it was rammed packed and quite big inside. We sat out the back on these beer kegs which had been converted into seats. The pub itself I don't think has been renovated in a very long time but I like that kind of stuff. I would recommend coming here.”
“Understandably a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide - well worth a visit.”
“Thanks to everyone at Funny Girls for making out sixth wedding anniversary one to remember! It was my first time to a drag show so wasn't sure quite what to expect, but I can highly recommend that anyone even a little interested checks it out here! Special shout-outs to Ritzy Reynolds for their DJ skills, and Jess for the top VIP drinks service!”
“This was the second time I had visited this cafe. My 17yr old grandson was with me this time. He loved it and so did I. Even though it was really hot outside, the cafe was shady and cool and very welcoming. I had the non meat option called Greenline. Dylan had the Fab Five Freddy. I had a fresh mint tea and Dylan had a cookie dough milkshake. Great food. Great staff. I will definitely be going back.”
“Food was absolutely amazing The service was excellent smiles all around thanks Anna my first visit due to recommendation i will definitely be back thank you”
“One of my favourite pubs in Liverpool! The service is always great and the prices are very reasonable. There are 3 separate seating/lounging areas, but they are all very cozy and intimate. It definitely seems like a pub where local people gather. I love the vibes here, definitely check out this place. The bartenders are always so friendly and welcoming.”
“Loved my visit to Bacaro. The black pudding with chicken liver was the highlight - so rich and flavourful. Goats’ cheese pearls were excellent too. Great vibe and friendly service - would definitely recommend.”
“So much choice here, it's a bit baffling but the waiter was so helpful and took loads of time to run though all the options with us. Brilliant for vegan 'junk', loaded fries, burgers etc there are also a few home cooked meals like a shepherd's pie and Mac & cheese. Good Chinese from the Woo Tan Scran menu and you can mix and match from both menus for any meal deals. The restaurant is in the basement, so it's got a cosy vibe but no views. The family who own this place obviously put in their heart and soul , thought and a lot of hard work and it really shows. So happy to have visited and also seen amazing Carl Warner art work again!”
