“I’ve visited this café multiple times. The staff are lovely, and they definitely serve the best coffee in town. The brunch is amazing - I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Surbiton!”
“We are a regular customer for teas and coffees and it’s our first year getting our Christmas tree. Wonderful, friendly service. We had a lovely experience picking our tree and the staff made it very special for our kids. 100% recommend it”
“The food was excellent, atmosphere fantastic and staff wonderful. It was amazing”
“Delicious food, I got the chicken wrap and chilli momo dumplings which were absolutely amazing, i would definitely be coming back for the dumplings. The staff were very friendly and great service”
“All I can say is bellisima!! I have been wanting to try The Roasting for quite sometime. It is definitely worth the wait. The coffee was great and the pistachio croissant was absolutely fabulous. It’s one of the nicest pastries I had. The prices were also decent and affordable. Service is also great. The guy helped me to choose pastries by giving me an idea of what each of them were and he also gave me a drink recommendation. I will definitely come back to try the other stuff.”
“Really nice independent cafe. Helpful and friendly staff, great coffee and everything I've tried is delicious.”
“If you are in the area you have to visit "The Antelope". The selection of drinks is just great. If you don't know what to drink or if you don't know a beer or cider, you may taste as long as you need to find your perfect drink. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great. Music is presented by a vinyl-record-player! We didn't have any food, but the kitchen was busy and everbody who had food looked very happy. Place to be!”
“I wish I could give more stars for the service here. I booked the French tarte afternoon tea for my mum’s birthday in august, and the chef carefully curated alternatives to cater to my mum’s nut allergy. We were made to feel so comfortable, the service was the best and it felt as though our waiter could not do enough! We were also encouraged to take our time and enjoy every bite. The flavours were amazing and the homemade jam was so good! Will definitely be returning.”
“A pub I've been meaning to write up for a while but haven't been too sure on when to dive into it. It's a local community pub, one of the very few independent ones in the area, but one I barely frequent, and I've not really got a good reason as to why. The first trip I went here, it was a cold covidy afternoon, and I was relegated to the sea of sofas in the garden. Collected together, like the aftermath of a flood having ripped through the front rooms of an entire village, a mish mash of the comfiest seats a pub garden has ever seen. To get there you'd need to hop on through the pub, greeted by locals playing board games with a nod, a lone bloke chewing the ear off the bar staff about the complexities of the Marvel universe pausing only to let you order, or a live band in the corner on Thursday & Sundays. A beer fridge is well stocked, keg beers are your accessible macro gear, but most come for the ale. Expertly kept rotating cask selection; you'll typically find Oakham, Surrey Hills or a couple of obscurer local breweries. Invariably served with a sparkler. The pub itself dates back to the late 1800s, and even used to have a small brewery on site, but it's only since Liz and Adam took it over that it's become this beacon of light amongst a sea of Young's pubs. It won multiple CAMRA awards in the mid 2010s, and continues to champion quality ale. Food wise they've chopped and changed. BBQ burger nights, slow pulled meats and veggie options, cheese nights too, and on the weekend I went they had "Emma" (forgot the IG tag), churning out Middle Eastern dishes, orders coming in early doors on a Sunday. Bar snacks knocking about, but few pubs in the area offer their location up to pop-ups, so it's nice to see the variety. It's a cosy place, you'll not find another one like it really, and to get 2 (good) pints south of a tenner in these parts is worthy of praise alone. Having done almost double digit visits now, I've never had the same experience twice in terms of locals, beers, Rona rules and food, yet the vibe remains the same. Welcoming, hospitable and inviting - a pub fully deserving of all the praise the locals have bestowed upon it.”
“One of my favourite places in Kingston/Surbiton. Freshly made dishes that taste amazing. Great customer service. A shot or two of limoncello after the dinner is a must”
“Popped in for lunch on the spur of the moment and thank goodness we did. We were greeted warmly and given the menu and chose, I had lamb souvlaki which was absolutely delicious, the chunks weren't massive like in other restaurants which I don’t like, they were cooked to perfection with strong Mediterranean flavours, my wife had a salad that had avocado and Halloumi with a trio of dips to go with again the flavours were perfect, the atmosphere was great and we will definitely be going again as it’s local for us. Thanks for a wonderful lunch”
“What a wonderful group Christmas meal we have just had. The food was generous and delicious. The printing of nameplates with food choice of each guest was genius. Festive decorations and crackers to pull made the atmosphere lovely and christmassy. Being able to pay with cash also helped for those without bank accounts!”
“The food here was absolutely delicious, with amazing quality and authentic Italian flavors. The ambience was warm and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel truly special. Highly recommended!”
“This is the best Bar in Surbtion! Perfect food, comfortable environment. The locals are very friendly. Spacious garden. It's in beautiful surroundings close to the River Thames. The waiters and chefs are very friendly! This is my favorite bar. I would love to come here every week with the ones I love!”
“Nice traditional pub with great staff and service. Also darts and a pool table!!”
“Wow! Karla is the most fantastic employee! She was so polite, kind, attentive, and even helped us to find several items on the menu we absolutely loved that we’ve never heard of! This place is a must go, if only for the incredible staff! And wow is the coffee good too! The best I’ve had in England!”
“A hidden gem. Extremely friendly, lovely boutique cafe with a relaxed atmosphere and wonderful interior. Support local businesses and get away from the corporate coffee shops! Oh and hands downs the best coffee I’ve drunk in the area!”
“Super Americano coffee, friendly staff - clean and hygienic - genuinely deserve support - ideal for Autoglass across the road.”
“Amazing experience. The hot chocolate was perfect- and I am super pretentious about the creaminess of it. The service - perfection- timely, friendly and professional. Met witha friend- ending up staying more than 1h lunch. Strongly recommend”
“Lovely atmosphere and great food at this family (and dog) friendly spot! Really spacious and airy with plenty of room for pushchairs. Food is all vegetarian plus they do baked goods especially for dogs!”
“We were a family party of 16 people, the welcome was warm, the service was efficient and the food, Sunday lunch, was well worth the short wait while it was prepared.”
“Service is really good and the guy is really lovely. We are very happy this being our local cafe. Delicious coffee and pastries (we had a jam donut and almond croissant). Highly recommend.”
“Went in for a coffee and cake in a rainy afternoon. Friendly staff, good coffee and cake, lovely atmosphere. We visit this place regularly as a family as well and it has a good selection of drinks and food”
“Have a quite a few greats nights since the refurb and new management have taken over. Bar Staff all very welcoming and warming always smiling and so friendly. Nicky the New Landlady always smiling and lovely to everyone that comes in. Quick service but they don't rush you and always ask how you are, which is nice and what a proper local pub should be.”
“My partner and I hired out a space in The Victoria for our leaving party and we had such an amazing experience. We initially booked the outside space however due to the weather being awful, they were able to move us inside last minute. Millena the manager was so helpful and was there for any assistance throughout the day, and the staff were so lovely and accommodating. Everyone had such a great day. The drinks and food from the burger shack was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of hiring out a space for a party!”
“Great place for clothes shopping on a budget with lovely designs. I tend to buy all my nephews' clothes from there as they have great designs and good quality for what you pay. No need for expensive clothes when they outgrow them in no time. Most importantly though some of their staff make you feel welcome and remember you from last time.”
“Great place for lunch, brunch and wine. Have visited many times for wine and pizza, coffee and cake, and the soups are always excellent. They have a good selection of quality wines to take home. Highly recommend.”
“Amazing food and service. The place has some good vibes as well. We used a groupon voucher and had a great deal. The guy who served us was very polite and nice. He made us some amazing Mai Tais as well. Would return here with no questions.”
“I’ve recently moved into the Surbiton area and have steadily made my way around the various eateries that Surbiton and Kingston have to offer. I’d say this is probably the best food I’ve had in the area and I’d fully recommend those looking for a quality place to make the stop. 5/5”
“Last week my friend and I went to your Tolworth store. From the moment we entered the store we were treated with nothing but kindness and help, all the ladies put themselves out even making us a hot drink. We were not rushed at all and we spent several hours trying out the chairs, Luka was exceptionally knowledgeable. The outcome was that we both purchased a chair from you. The help I received was amazing, never before have I come across such care and professionalism.”
