“Excellent food and wine very nice ambience well worth a visit, haven't been in three years as the place went a bit downhill but thankfully Carlos of judges has come into the fold and turned the place around. I went today with my mum&brother and sat by the open doors which was lovely,.me and my brother went for the octopus which was very delicious and melted in the mouth with a slight hint of salt in the aftertaste, my mum went for crab and prawns which she said was delicious .For mains my mum had roast lamb and my brother went for roast beef both of which had large portions, I myself had the veal chop which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth the wine was nice as well. Overall a very pleasant experience and afternoon out will definitely be returning by the end of the month.”

“I came here for dinner before a show at The Globe. I got a drink, an appetizer, and an entree salad (needed something lighter). Everything I tried was absolutely spectacular, the service was superb (they checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was up to par too) , and the atmosphere was so comfortable. I will definitely come back here when I’m back in London. I’m looking forward to trying the other menu items! Thank you so much!”

“My absolute favourite cozy date spot in London. I literally felt like I was in the Alps enjoying a fondue after a long day of skiing, only to unfortunately realise I was still in London after stepping out… Food: for drinks we had a 200ml glass of their pinot noir each (we were 2 people) and it felt like a good match for the rest of the dinner. For starters we had the escargots and the pâté. The pâté was fresh and very appetising with good consistency. The escargots were the only disappointing point of the whole dinner. As a fan of the dish in general, I found them to be a bit too oily for my liking and generally the sauce was overwhelming. A suggestion would be to use a bit less oil and tone it down a bit in general. For mains, what I will say is that I did not expect a London fondue to be this good. We had the Moitié-Moitié with bread and baby potatoes and it was perfect. The flavour was amazing, the texture and consistency were perfect, the temperature was perfect, everything about it was perfect. Bread was as it should be - not too fresh - the traditional way and potatoes perfectly cooked. For dessert we had the chocolate fondue which was the cherry on the cake. Nice and rich chocolate with fruits, marshmallows and biscuits. It was phenomenal. Only thing I would say as advice to the restaurant is maybe include more marshmallows and bananas rather than kiwi and clementine because they don’t really go too well with chocolate, especially the clementine. I know orange and chocolate are nice together but fresh clementine is too juicy and the texture of the chocolate gets ruined. Overall it was so good that I will ignore the escargot disappointment and give it a perfect score. **Note for those that will order starters + cheese fondue + chocolate fondue for 2 people: don’t. Unless you have the stomach of an elephant do not attempt this, we eat a lot generally and failed to finish miserably. If you want to taste everything and don’t mind leaving food behind go ahead, otherwise stick to the fondue combo only (no starters) and you will probably still struggle.** Service: the service was great, staff were very friendly and accommodating while the kitchen was speedy and efficient. We were given our alone time but never felt neglected and all the food came out with no waiting time - perfect could not have been better. Atmosphere: AMAZING for a cozy date night or a nice and relaxing night out with friends to escape the London chaos. Decorated with Swiss pots and pans, horns, bells and paintings with beautiful wooden interior. Matched with the beautiful tunes in the background at just the right volume, it was literally perfect. Nothing could have been better or nicer.”

“Me and my partner loved the food, it was delicious. The service was brilliant and staff was lovely and very attentive. It was my birthday and the manager got me one of their chocolate desserts with a candle on it- this seriously made my night. It’s such a thoughtful gesture. I will definitely visit again and recommend Ekte to my friends.”

“The service was top-notch and friendly. The staff delivered really good hospitality. The food was excellent and portion sizes are a lot - you’re definitely getting what you paid for. We came in the afternoon and it was super hot so I think that affected the atmosphere of the restaurant. The toilets were a bit disappointing tho, it was a bit unkept.”

“If you love Turkish/Mediterranean food and you love meze/tapas type food, then this wonderful addition to Ambience restaurant next door is absolutely Amazing. Went for a sit down recently, I fancied something light but still satisfying. The healthy choices were so appeasing to the eye, I love hummus, I could it with anything and it was amazing but more so was the homemade Dolma (stuffed vine leaves) some of the best I have ever had. And trust me if you're getting this right, everything else is a given. Great new place, friendly staff and nice chilled out decor.”

“My first time at this restaurant and it was an excellent experience. The ambience was so comfortable yet pleasantly stimulating. The afternoon tea was nice and a straightforward procedure. The choices of tea were vast and different - the Oolong Milk Tea was my favourite, the green tea wasn't remarkable but it was standard. I think the fillings of the sandwiches were quite unique however, the bread was slightly oxidised and borderline stale. I would most definitely returning multiple times as the price per person is excellent for the standard of service. Excellent!”

“hicce is a true culinary gem that left a lasting impression on us. The restaurant boasts an impressive array of dishes, but it's their fish and seafood creations that truly stole the show. One dish that stood out above the rest was the cuttlefish. It was an absolute delight, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. The cocktail selection at hicce is equally impressive, and we were blown away by their outstanding concoctions. The Pictish Martini quickly became a personal favorite, showcasing the mixologist's skill in crafting unique and delicious drinks. A special mention goes to our waiter, Ruth. Her exceptional service and attention to detail truly enhanced our dining experience. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time.”

“Every restaurant has it's birthing pains, especially on the first evening. This one had none. Very enjoyable food, clean modern Mediterranean, hints of central Europe and middle east. Oh, and generous portions. Although food is tasty, the whole experience is carried by an inspired wine list (of great value by London standards). We tried almost every wine on offer per glass and not one disappointed. Staff is relaxed and attentive and Hugo is a pleasant maitre d'hotel. All in all, with distinct al-fresco vibe due to the glass wall, tasty and current food and absolutely great wine list, this should become an all-day east London institution it is aspiring to be.”

“Absolutely THE BEST Armenian, USSR and Georgian food in London!! I love this restaurant!! I went here for dinner with my family, every dishes we ordered were heavenly delicious!! Although the waiting time for the food was quite long, but it was worth it. For starters, I love the Selodka Pod Shuboy the most, we ended up ordered another one after dessert, highly recommended!! For main course, I ordered the Khashlama, the lamb was so soft and tender, taste amazing with the veggies! And dessert was delicious too! The owner (I guess) was very friendly and fun with good service! We had a very enjoyable evening! I was surprised that we were the only customers there on that night, maybe because it was a weekday.”

“Beautiful open mezzanine French restaurant with wonderful service and waiting staff. Food was very good and extremely good value Christmas menu with deliciously plump and juicy Turkey breast, incredible pate and lovely desserts. Would have been 5 stars if the main courses came out quicker (we waited 45 minutes but it wasn't super busy) but we were having a great catch up so it didn't matter too much. Perfect place for a lunch meeting in Shoreditch / Old Street. Highly recommend.”

“The food was fantastic, and the portions were pretty large, which I think most people would appreciate. The cocktails were great too. The Cuban Grande might seem weak at first, but it's actually perfectly balanced. The service was excellent. Our server was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed at the right times. I really enjoyed my visit!”

“Gorgeous buffet style restaurant, but not your average buffet! There is so much choice of starters, soup, pasta sltation, noodles station, mains buffet with 3 or 4 coices including fish and vege options. The dessert table is to die for though, wear elasticated waist!! Have a stroll along the Thames after dinner to get your digestion working! Rexommend for fussy eaters and special occassions. Book well in advance!”

“My family and I have been eating here for decades and there have been some changes over the years, but it's always worth a visit. The ruskie pierogi are the best in town - I always pick up some frozen pierogi from the little sister Cafe Maja downstairs - and the home made gateaux are genuinely award-winning. Yesterday I had a flavourful rosol (chicken broth) to start, followed by pork loin in a wild mushroom sauce. I could smell the wild mushrooms as the plate was brought to the table, and although I'm not a great fan of kopytka (polish gnocchi) the ones I had were delicious; perfect for mopping up the creamy sauce that accompanied a big hunk of very tender pork loin. A good cappuccino accompanied a delicious and large slice of coffee and walnut tort (gateau). Yep there are a few niggles - the website could do with being sorted out so it took bookings - but hiccups are dealt with promptly and professionally. The staff work really hard to get things right, Lowiczanka is deservedly still one of the best and cheapest places to get good Polish food in London.”

“Fantastic afternoon tea. Having taken a trip up to London it seemed only right to take afternoon tea somewhere different. The Hilton offered a Teddy bears picnic themed menu that looked brilliant on paper. On arrival the very attentive and engaging staff showed us to our table where me my two children found a lovely large Teddy bear each. The bears, promptly named Mr Bear and Harry were joined by the large assortment of freshly made sandwiches (the salmon was very good) followed by some of the best cakes I have had this side of Paris. The attention to detail was fantastic, with chocolate filled mushrooms and chocolate tea cups filled with strawberry mouse were especially good. We couldn't finish it all despite it being so good. The staff kindly offered to box the surviving cakes up and will be enjoyed with a cup of coffee on return home.”

“We took this venue for a private hire and it was incredible. Guests got to choose from the menu even though we were 60 plus people. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Food was great, generous portions and good mix on the menu. Bottomless drinks were plentiful with rarely an empty glass. Great communication throughout. Highly recommended”

Do note that laundry charges incur an additional 20% VAT on top of the listed prices. Also, if it’s raining, be prepared to navigate a few puddles on the short walk to Ealing Broadway.”

“On our way back to our hotel, I wanted to find a locals place. This was the exact spot we were looking for. The mushroom ravioli was the freshest ingredients I ever tasted. The onions were cooked perfectly, which they added a nice crunch. The risotto prescatore was just the right amount of seafood to take this one over the top. Finished off with a piece of incredible tiramisu. This place was all we were looking for. Nice wine list. The waiters were all great and very attentive to their customers. Open since 1946, this place is a gem!”
