“Our daughter loves swimming at puddle ducks, and has for several years now. She has grown in confidence in the water impressively, it is one of the highlights of the week ! Thank you so much to Maria for your patience, kindness and dedication to Lily and all kids in the swimming class ! In addition the website is easy to use and if you miss a class, let them know in advance and you then get a "courtesy" lesson to make sure you don't miss out. Definitely worth it with small kids.”
“Bliss was really helpful today, she showed me round ALL of the facilities. The spa has just been re-painted and it looks BRILL. And the gym is SO spacious. And the pool looks so inviting. So excited to start my you+ membership tomorrow. Bliss is absolutely brilliant she helped gain this and so much more. Thank you BLISS.”
“Friendly and very helpful staff I left my £1 for the locker in car and she let me leave and item of value behind the counter for the £1. Simple and rare these days. Nice pool, good temperature, clean and no one wearing shoes in the changing rooms. Unlike every “Better” pool we’ve been to.”
“Really lovely staff, so friendly. We were met on Tuesday by a lovely kind lady, who had the best customer service (12 o clock we didn't catch her name). But, she was so thorough and offered us some help as were visiting the area on our holiday. But, to be fair all of the staff were lovely and kind. It shows that ypu must have lovely cohesive team. The kids and I enjoyed the swim session and slides.”
“Fabulous venue for events. Great service, well thought out space and excellent location.”
“Iesha was excellent. She went above and beyond to print the document I needed even when there was an issue printing them.”
“My daughter just moved from a different centre, I must say the place is clean and well organised. Faith is a fantastic instructor, she create a funny and engaging lesson every time.”
“Hi, I’ve been a member of Chingford Nuffield gym for a couple of years but only recently invested in personal training with Debi Christopher. She is so lovely and I’ve definitely chosen such a good fit for my needs. I ask a lot of questions and she always answers them with knowledge and professionalism… And patience! Within a couple of sessions I could feel both mentally and physically the impact of what she was helping me with in terms of joint pain and level of fitness. My motivation to use the gym and my confidence has improved no end and I would highly recommend Debbi”
“Would just like to add to this review since I see so many people bad mouthing the front desk staff. It's a tough job interacting with people who lack basic communication skills, how hard is it to start a conversation with "Hey how are you?" Before going off on a rant about something that you could easily resolve yourself if you were able to install Instagram on your phone. Yes, I'm sure they may seem unapproachable at times, I certainly would if I've just had some Karen tell me I'm useless and they're going to speak to HO or leave a complaint about me. So start your interaction off with a positive, smile, ask them how they are, and apologise that you're about to add to their stress. I guarantee that will make all the difference. It's a leisure centre, there are multiple facilities that need managing and the poor, underpaid desk staff might not have the answer to your query immediately available. If you make them feel bad about that, they definitely won't put the extra effort in that you feel entitled to. Just imagine this is your child on the desk, if they came home everyday upset because some 40+ year old Karen told them they're stupid in one way or another you would lose your mind. Do better.”
“Have been coming here for a swim for quite a some time and always been met with welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere. Centre itself could do with refreshing some facilities, but nothing too major to dislike. My only issue is occasional stench smell of sewage in swimming pool, but that was only a few occasions so far. Pool temperature is adequate, overall cleanliness is good for how many people pass through on daily basis. Will see what changes the new owner will bring, but have visited some of theirs leisure centres, hoping for good ones. Overall 5*”
“Had my daughter's birthday on the 8th Feb 2025. I want to give a big shout out to Angie and her team to make it a successful one. All the kids had so much fun. A big thank you :)”
“Lovely lady called Lianda who works here helped me and my friend with swimming lessons for our kids, she understood we would like them to be in the same class as they both are very shy and being together would encourage one another. Lianda was a super star even with being very booked up she managed to sort this out for us both. happy kids and happy parents. Definitely recommend this member of stuff she is so polite and easy to talk to.”
“I’ve been using the gym and pool facilities at The Pavilion for a while now, and I have to say — it’s an absolute gem, especially for the price. The gym is spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with everything from free weights to resistance machines and cardio equipment. The showers and changing facilities are always spotless, making post-workout refreshment super convenient. Special shout-out to the gym staff who are always friendly, supportive, and approachable. Whether you’re a regular or just getting started, they make you feel welcome and help you get the most out of your fitness journey. The pool is another huge highlight. Clean, well-maintained, and rarely overcrowded — it’s honestly a steal at this price point. Whether you’re doing laps or just looking to unwind, the atmosphere is always calm and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience at the bowling alley doesn’t match the standard of the rest of the facility. Booking a lane feels like you need to be a mind-reader or a magician, and the staff there could really use some basic training in customer service. We were rushed during our game — to the point where we weren’t even able to complete our turns properly, which was disappointing. If the bowling alley team could take a note from the gym and pool staff, The Pavilion would truly be a five-star facility across the board.”
“Just joined Virgin Active Bromley and I’m really impressed. The gym is clean, modern, and has everything you need. The equipment is top quality and always available. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome from day one. The changing rooms are spotless, and the pool and sauna are great for recovery. It’s got a really good vibe never feels overcrowded, just a great place to train and stay consistent. Glad I signed up here.”
“Honestly, I had such an amazing experience with Becca, during my visit to Nuffield Twickenham. She was super friendly and easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable right away. She gave me a full and thorough tour of the gym and explained everything without making me feel overwhelmed or awkward. You can tell she actually cares and loves what she does. She was so encouraging and hyped me up the whole time, which made me even more excited to get started. The gym itself is clean and well organised. I left feeling very motivated and confident to get started xx”
“My home gym of several years with improvements made under the new management with increased investment. Friendly staff and instructors with an all-around nice gym community. Huge thank you to Peter and Athony who went above and beyond to help me during my visit today after an incident on one of the machines. I was really worried, but they were really calm and resolved the matter. I truly appreciate the help.”
“Brought the kids to do a climbing wall taster session. Dave was fantastic and patient in training and working with them. Great experience and hope to be back soon!”
“Waddon leisure center near purely way. Hi my personal experience, as my son goes to swimming, among all the swim teacher. Jade is simply the professional swim teacher. Her caliber is simply brilliant. Kids love her. Including parents. Keep going girl. I guess her name is Correct”
“Bright, open and clean. Service equally gleans. Nothing's too much. Always a pleasure served with equal measure. Lights always shine brightly especially this Christmas time. The Christmas cheer always near. A delight to see the swimming pool sparkly, gleaming with swimmers beaming. #thepoetreviewer”
“This is a PUBLIC PLACE! To have the amount of people they have coming through there each day and be able to maintain it to the ability they’re able to is very surprising! It is an extremely popular place and you have to take into consideration the social environment it’s in! I have moved over from David Lloyd and although it’s no David Lloyd (David Lloyd is the heaven of members club) it certainly does the trick! People on here complaining about skinny teenage boys in the gym… we have to start somewhere! I appreciate Everyone Active for helping me and adapting to my needs due to my epilepsy, Sometimes the staff are a bit on edge because they deal with lots of people every day be patient with them. They are good people just under a lot of stress so please remember that! (However I do believe they could Invest in some more professional cleaners) Thankyou!”
“as a student i found that the gym hall was good staff are happy to help and the problems with cleaning were because they couldn't get to those areas. the pool problems were mainly because of other users. overall a brilliant gym that i would recommend to others.”
“Joined 4 months ago- health club is small and very friendly with a good mix of Audley and local residents. People come here to get fit and to enjoy leisure activities - not to pose and show off. We’re now regulars at all Nav’s classes - and can feel the benefits. There’s a good mix of fitness and Heath n wellbeing focus in the sessions. He is very attentive and respectful - and when we need a little extra coaching or additional advice he provides it in an understated and discrete manner. There’s good humour and fun in the classes and some occasional variety to keep us on our toes. Other classes are also well attended - tripudio was new to me -mindful and gentle. Zumba with Gabriel is joyful and fun and exhausting- it’s brilliant. Pool is small but numbers are regulated - and the bar/ spa/ restaurant are elegant and a pleasure to use.”
“Amazing place to have lunch, dinner or just coffee. Stunning gardens and views. Also small venue for weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. The spa is amazing.”
“We had our 2nd lesson today, baby is 17 weeks old. Love the pool and the organisation. Jenny was lovely also at enquiry stage.”
“I had exceptional treatments at this spa. My therapist, Victoria was amazing. She went above and beyond customizing both my massage and facial to meet my needs. I'm not a person that cares about the facilities such as steam room and sauna so I can't comment on those as I didn't use them. If you want top notch services, I wouldn't hesitate to go here and I would ask for booking with Victoria.”
“My husband and I recently joined the ‘Get Active’ membership aimed at over 65 year olds. We started with a pickleball course and now play regularly in the socials.which are great fun. I also attended the magic ring class with Steph and the Yoga with Victoria J . Both are excellent instructors. There are lots of activities included in this membership, there is something for everyone.”
