βFantastic day, warm and welcoming for a Sunday afternoon. The roast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were so great and accommodating. They were a fun and enthusiastic team that made the afternoon thoroughly enjoyable. Particular shoutout to Leah, Aliya and Dani. They were so professional and personable, they made our big group event a great time .β
βThe venue was amazing; the food and staff were good. The portion size was a bit small, but everyone enjoyed the food. The ambiance added to the experience, with soft lighting and tasteful decorations that created a warm and inviting atmosphere.β
βAbsolutely delicious food and very attentive staff. The menu very clearly states what dishes are vegan and thereβs so many options. We were spoilt for choice and ended up taking home what was left as the portions were very generous. So glad to have a local restaurant this good. Will definitely be back.β
βI've had bad experiences with some Caribbean food, but the visit to Egi's altered my perception. My cousin recommended that I visit if I'm ever nearby. We placed our order over the phone 30mins to arrival. The food was handed to us within 2mins. Went home to give it a try and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the portion and the food was superb. The grilled chicken and pork ribs with the rice and peas was great. Loved it and I will be back for more.β
βFantastic food! I agree with the other reviews, I would have missed it had I not seen the reviews about it being downstairs and located outside the hotel. I had to wait a few minutes for the door to be answered but once inside the food and service did not disappoint. I would come back again. The butter chicken was fantasticβ
βDelicious food, big portions and friendly staff. If you're in the area definitely should try!β
βBest Chinese Iβve had in 10 years! Since moving to Loughton I tried all the local Chinese and decided to stop eating it as it all tasted like total trashβ¦ this Chingford Chinese one however had lots of veg types (in Loughton it seems the only vegetable they know is onion) and also generally just tastes good and fresh and very hot too! Will be ordering from here from now on thank youβ
βConsistently incredible! So lucky our local pizza joint never disappoints. The ingredients are always top quality, layered on perfectly chewy, delicious dough. The cocktails are just as impressiveβexpertly mixed and full of flavor. To top it all off, the staff are genuinely warm, welcoming, and always friendly. A true gem!β
βWe been last week there on wedding function andFood was amazing great service and atmosphere great music great place to have a party.β
βLove this place.. food is outstanding. Very nice staff.. courgette fritters were delicious. Big portion of salad.β
βNo idea what itβs called (the waitress juggled the dishes names but I still had no idea), asked for a takeaway of lamb with veg & rice that Iβve noticed behind the window while walking by. The food deliciously soft, great salad, served by a blonde ponytail waitress- extremely attentive, quick & polite- thank you!β
βA basic self serve canteen offering delicious, home-style Indian food. The staff are exceedingly friendly. The food is excellent and the value is unbeatable especially for central London. Donβt over order as the portions are very generous.β
βI booked the private room upstairs for my 30th birthday and had an amazing time. For starters the minimum spend was so reasonable compared to other pubs in London, making it far more affordable. The pub were super accommodating of all my requests in the lead up the event. The Head Chef Franc was amazing at helping me create a suitable menu for my guests and helped with lots of my back and forth emailing. Finally the staff were amazing on the day, so accommodating and made my day super special! Everyone still components the food- which was top quality! Would highly recommend for a private event.β
βGreat food and service ! Went to the restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious. We were checked up on and left on a positive note. Will visit again and do recommend.β
βLovely ambience, great service and awesome menu. Such a great vibe.β
βAmazing experience for our friendβs birthday lunch. The food was delicious with lots of vegan options and the staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. Fallon in particular was a wonderful host and made sure we were really well looked after. Would definitely recommend visiting if youβre looking for a genuinely warm and special environment β€οΈβ
βGot the lamb doner wrap , it was Β£7.50 but it was HUGE ( the photo shows only half of the wrap after being cut in half). It was pretty good value for money . Update: been loads of time now, had previously given a 4 but Iβve changed it to 5 now. Lamb kofte, doner , rice and chips are tasty.β
βWe took this venue for a private hire and it was incredible. Guests got to choose from the menu even though we were 60 plus people. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Food was great, generous portions and good mix on the menu. Bottomless drinks were plentiful with rarely an empty glass. Great communication throughout. Highly recommendedβ
βReliable place, decent pub food, good ales, and great prices. You can order via the app, and youβll get it in no time.β
βHad the pleasure of tucking into their delicious Arancini at the Colchester Food Festival and was not disappointed. Absolutely delicious and such friendly service!!! Eccellente!!! Iβll definitely be visiting their website to order some for home!!β
βThe food is so good, the portions are large! The service is above and beyond. So grateful to have visited this restaurant instead of going elsewhere. God bless the cook!β
βThis is a great plase to dine out. We, as a family have been eating at Birashwamys for over thirty years when my father came across it one day. The restaurant is very cosy and the gorgeous aroma coming from the kitchen makes you feel hungry the minute you walk through the door. There's a great choice of delicious dishes on offer that tastes different to other Indian restaurants I have visited. We no longer live close Birashwamys but we make it point to drive down regularly. The food tastes just as delicious today as it has did thirty years ago. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff are really friendly. Nice clean toilets. Good background music. Overall the place has a good feel about it. Well worth a try. You never know. This may become your favourite restaurant. Get Outlook for Androidβ
βHad a nice dinner with my friend here. Iβm a big fan of the Braised Pork Belly! Other dishes we ordered were also very nice. Would love to come back and try the hot pot some other day.β
βReally enjoyed it. Lovely food and staffβ
βOne of my favourite restaurants in London,β
βFirst time here with family and we all loved it. We came when it was rather quiet. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. All our courses was delicious. The restaurant was clean. Parking available in a nearby carpark free in the evening. Praying facilities also available. Staff also gave free brownie favour to the kids. Will return again.β
βReally quick delivery and great price for quality pizzaβ
βMy first visit to this fine establishment came by invitation from a dear friend. Since its founding in 1958, Maharani has stood as a cherished landmark of authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, right in the heart of South London. From the outside, it may appear to be a typical Indian restaurant, but step inside and you are greeted by a stylishly modern dΓ©cor that sets it apart. Even more exciting, the owner shared plans for a complete refurbishment, which will introduce a fresh, contemporary ambience while preserving the restaurantβs unwavering commitment to culinary excellence. Our party of four embarked on a memorable culinary journey guided by recommendations from our generous host and the accomplished manager, Alexβa Scotsman delightfully at home running an Indian curry house. We began with starters of crispy Bengali Fried Sardines and succulent Lamb Shashliks served with fluffy Peshwari Naan. The main courses were simply outstanding: a beautifully slow-cooked Parsi Lamb Dhansak, a rich and flavourful Chittagong King Prawn Bhuna, and an array of classic sides including Tarka Daal, Saag, and crisp Bhajis. Each dish was faultlessβbursting with authenticity and flavour. Equally impressive was the service. The waitstaff went above and beyondβwhether because we were special guests or simply a reflection of their natural hospitality, it made the evening all the more special. Altogether, it was an unforgettable dining experienceβMaharani truly lives up to its reputation, and I left with both my appetite and my heart deeply satisfied. Ahmed Hussain 22 Sep 2025β
βRevamped under new ownership, lacks the variey of real ales on draught but vast improvement in food. The chicken wings are amazing! Great selection of music on the jukebox as well. Most recently, I had the chicken pizza, which tasted like home cooking at its best.β
