“The Birches is a very welcoming pub, great atmosphere with an open fireplace to warm any weary traveller. A great selection of beers and larger, I had a glass of their Australian Shiraz, which was very nice; much nicer than what is usually served in pubs. Food is served using locally sourced produce. It is traditional, very well cooked, and served on nice warm plates. Recommended to all.”

“Had a bottomless brunch with manager Cameron and it was the best brunch we've been to. Some of the best food we've had as well, absolutely mouth watering. Whether it's for brunch or a meal out I'd highly recommend coming here. The staff and service was 10/10 and lovley atmosphere, will definitely come again”

“I just celebrated my birthday and book release ("Sun-Kissed and Sidetracked") here, and I couldn’t be happier! The service was top-notch; the team greeted me warmly and made me feel really special. The food and drinks were delicious, and everything came out super fast. A lovely complementary dessert plate made my day. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone wanting a memorable meal! Looking forward to our next visit!”

“Absolutely loved this hotel. It is a short walking distance from the train station, easy to access. The building looks amazing and the rooms are just fab! It is a proper hotel room but very well equipped even had a small kitchen installed giving a feeling of an RBnb so you can cook your own meals if you want. Nice and clean bathroom with some nice brands of shampoo and body wash. Also had iron and hair dryer. Oh, and the view was stunning, staff was superfriendly. Wifi was quick, easy to connect and even the staircase looks beautiful. Highly recommended accomodation if you visit Manchester.”

“Lovely birthday lunch here yesterday. Yummy selection of veggie starters. We ordered the offer of 6 starts for around £30-ish for two of us and was more than enough for us both (we couldn't eat it all). Had to try the 12hr baked potatoes just to see what that was all about and they were absolutely divine! Def a recommend from me.”

“Good location. Staff are friendly. Discount parking for the multi story car park-£11 for 24 hours. Room is clean and comfortable. Free of charge for late check out which is superb so I could get a quick shower after ran the Manchester half! Dog friendly hotel. Love it! My dog enjoyed the view.”

“Had an amazing time here the other week, the DJ was absolutely amazing had the whole room bouncing! Guys on the door were boss and got in quick and easy, no fuss. Bar staff inside so kind and even helped me find my phone when I lost it! Would absolutely recommend anyone a night out here!”

“First time dining there tonight and we can’t wait to be back! Shocked we had a hidden gem on our doorstep and didn’t realise. We had a mix of Sunday lunches, burgers and steak at our table and there wasn’t a bad thing to say about it. The beef on the roast literally melted on your tongue. Very good staff who checked up on us a lot to make sure we had everything we wanted. Many thanks to Jason as well, he was fab looking after us, very approachable and witty, which made the meal even better. We will be back soon!”

“We booked a table following rave reviews from friends who had visited the restaurant. There were 11 of us dining and we have to say that the food has to be up there with any other Indian food we have eaten (most of the family are Indian). We will definitely be going back and highly recommend a visit. Not only was the food amazing the staff (especially the owner) are professional and friendly. A great service all around. “Wow! This place reminds me of walking in to the likes of Pacha in Spain for the first time, the music pumping and the smoke acting as a barrier between the real world and club land. Tech house was the flavour of the night, and my god it tasted good! What an epic deviation of the norm, I could've literally thrown shapes all night in here! Could this place be the venue that puts Preston back on the clubland map? I think so!!!”

“Had a great retirement party upstairs. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble . We used the resident DJ who was very good . We were also able to use our own caterer. Everyone commented on how big and nice the room is . Definitely recommend.”

“Very good pub owned by Manchester Metropolitan University and run by the student union. The pub is a tap for the Bollington Brewery and had five cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered.”

The setting itself is lovely, relaxed, and perfect for a weekend treat. Our server, Jasmine, was absolutely brilliant — so attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well looked after from start to finish. We honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. Highly recommended!”

“Great bar in the heart of the city. Food chooses really great, had the grill of the day - creamy chickpeas with chicken. Mushroom filled scotch egg also great. Espresso martini good. Service great and prices fair. Would visit again.”
