“We had our anniversary Sunday lunch at the Saracen’s Head and took our young cocker spaniel to make it more of a challenge. The staff were very good and promptly found a water bowl for the pup whilst taking our drink and food order. We ate at a window table in the bar. The food arrived in good time; it was plentiful and delicious (a Veggie Roast with sprouts, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage and a Steak Burger with chunky chips). Our pup loved the whole thing and so did we - thank you!”
“Went for the first time with friends was nice and cool inside lots to see in the walls. We had some drinks and then played darts great time. Be back again soon. Good times”
“Thank you so much for looking after us and our numerous guests on Saturday after we booked the upstairs room but given the heatwave we had to relocate to the outdoor area. The staff were amazing in keeping us all well "hydrated" and everyone said that they had a fab night. Highly recommend this pub for a good selection of beers/ciders and friendly atmosphere”
“Nice little pub, walked in and was surprised at the selection of unusual beers on offer as I always like to try something new and normally disappointed but not at the lamplighter. Nice ambience in the bar and the barman was very helpful and polite. Good choice of beers. Would definitely come back!”
“Top tier staff. My wife and I left with a smile on our faces. We were well taken care of.”
“A truly beautiful location and a lavish cavery to match. The service was excellent, everyone was very attentive and kind. The menu is traditional but diverse for a Sunday Cavery but enhanced in terms of quality and portions. The price is a little higher than your average cavery but as mentioned, the quality of items and the diverse amount of products that it comes with (seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, goose fat roast potatoes, red cabbage and the finest yorkshire pudding i've had in some time) make a special meal. Highly recommend as we will certainly be back again.”
“Visited for Sunday Lunch on 26th May. We did book the week previously, and glad we did as i dont think we would have got a table. Parking is plentiful if you have an earlier booking, but can be busy later on and you may have to park away from pub and short walk in. Plenty of seating outside, especially if weather is warm. I had a pint of San Miguel and my wife had a Malibu and coke, which was £9.20. We were seated at our allotted time and the restaurant was busy but tables not too close and they cater for larger parties. There is a 2 or course option for Sunday lunch, we opted for the 2 courses for £25. I had the topside roast beef and my wife had the chicken. There is an option for Lamb shoulder (i will be having next visit). We were served quickly and the staff are very attentive and friendly. My roast beef was delicious as were the roast potatoes, Yorkshire, the roast parsnips and carrots, were also yummy. The veg came out seperate with peas, beans , leeks and cabbage, all of which were very fresh and cooked to perfection, we asked for extra veg and extra gravy. I think you get a better deal with the Chicken option as you get pigs in blankets and stuffing, which you dont get on the beef?? Anyway, my wife said it was the best roast she has had in more than a decade (high praise indeed). I have to agree, the meal was delicious and the portion generous as i could not finish my beef. We could not fault a thing on the plate, so compliments to the kitchen staff. For desert we had Sticky toffee pudding, i had custard and my wife had extra sauce and butterscotch ice cream. It was light yet scrumptious, and we were both full to bursting. The toilets were lovely and clean and probably the best toilets i have visited in a pub/restaurant for along time. Overall, value for money and the food superb. The service excellent, especially Tim the manager, a lovely kind man. By the way for all 3 courses it is £32. We will be back in the next couple of weeks as this was the best Sunday lunch for miles and miles.”
“Stunning food, amazing atmosphere and a pretty restaurant. Repeat customers!”
“My cousin and I have been for afternoon tea here twice now and will definitely go again. The homemade cakes and sandwiches were delicious. The restaurant and location is lovely but the staff really set it apart as nothing is too much trouble and they were all lovely and very welcoming.”
“Another great night with top notch food. I didn’t even finalise my booking properly on line but they still accommodated us no problem. Thanks again”
“Went in after 4 hours on a bicycle ride exploring the city and we had such a big appetite. The portions were generous and we left stuffed. Everything in my pictures is Vegan and it was delicious.”
“We came to celebrate our grandpa on his birthday at the one place he loved the most. What an amazing evening; can’t thank the guys enough. Beautiful family run restaurant we’ve come to for years. Our beloved papa, Barry Packer who worked many of nights with the team too, clearly made an unforgettable impression on them all. Was beautiful to see their reactions and hear their stories of working with him;was truly remarkable. A man who was loved by many and treated as one of their own, we will never forget the memories made. Thankyou to all who served us and knew our grandpa, you all made it such a special occasion for him and our family today.”
“Great food, lovely staff and a nice venue. It's rare to find a chef that truly crisps the salmon fillet (makes for a lovely, crunchy crisp) and unusual to pair with gnocchi - loved it! But the rhubarb and custard baked alaska with gin jelly was fabulous.”
“Three of us called in at short notice around 2pm on a weekday afternoon on the way back to London. We just wanted a drink and a small lunch. We each chose a sandwich, and I can say that the halloumi sandwich I had was maybe the best I’ve ever had. And the chips were excellent too. My friends each had the fish ginger sandwich and were equally impressed. I’d definitely call back if I was in the area again.”
“Excellent meal at the carrington arms, we had a couple of cuts from the meat counter, cooked perfectly to our order with some really tasty sides. Drinks and dessert also very nice, and a reasonable bill for what we had. Great service from Hannah throughout.”
“Thee most underrated restaurant in Buckinghamshire. The Carbonara is the best I have had outside of Italy.. I can’t over sell this place enough.. A real hidden Gem.”
“This is my second time going here now after hearing all about the amazing vegan options they have, and it does not disappoint. Absolutely amazing food with loads of options for all diets, we got the vegan fish and chips and the classic burger and it was delicious! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere and interior is so cosy and pub-like. Loads of drinks and draught options. And it's all served so quickly. We can't recommend it enough. It is quickly becoming our new favourite pub.”
“Had a fantastic lunch here, the food was all delicious, very extensive menu to choose from, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The only downside was we waited quite a long time for our food, but the staff were all very friendly and helpful.”
“A very good atmosphere, wonderful staff. Food was delicious and well presented all the usual dishes on the main menu. But the specials of the day board had a great selection of things you might not expect in a pup restaurant. Will be back when in the location again”
“One of my favourite places to go and eat! We celebrate anniversaries there and so visit at least a few times a year. We've also had their takeaway! Always been very happy with the service and food we've received. I would recommend”
“We had a wonderful time at Restaurant Azita! The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, all delicious and generously served. The service is attentive yet discreet, and the warm, cozy atmosphere makes you want to stay longer and enjoy another cocktail. Definitely worth a visit — even with kids!”
“Lovely food and service, would recommend and hope to come again. Thank you”
“Spot on! Worth the drive on a cold wet evening. There were four of us, booked of an early dinner that really did not disappoint. The service was very good and the food (main issue) was superb. Wexford mushrooms, croquettes and black pudding for starters; duck, beef shin ragu (unctuous) and parmigiana that was to die for. Definitely a big cut above the usual pub grub and the "gastropub" offerings. One to return to and we will. Thanks”
“Absolutely delicious staff, very friendly and helpful food! Joking aside, this was the best French onion soup I've had, perfectly sized portions, and a fast friendly service. Parked across the road too, very convenient. Highly recommend.”
“An absolute gem! We drove past this ‘pub’ several times during our holiday & decided to have dinner here on our last night in the UK. A local gathering spot with an incredible menu selection perfect for a special dinner. Truly our favourite meal of the entire trip. The waitress was helpful & recommended some favourites. Beet risotto with bass, sausage & mashed along with fresh peas & leaks/onions. All delish. Appetizers & desserts were equally as impressive. A must stop. A great selection of ciders, beers & wine.”
“We visited this lovely pub last Saturday with my family and absolutely loved it! It’s such a cosy place with really nice decor and a great atmosphere. The staff were super friendly, polite and helpful, and the food was honestly outstanding! We had the pan-seared chicken supreme, beef bourguignon and butternut squash risotto and OMG, everything was sooo good! The desserts were amazing too. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!”
“Absolutely amazing. The food is great here. Not the cheapest but very high quality. So tasty and worth the money. One of the nicest restaurants in the area. It has atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. Overall the food is superb and I recommend, we will definitely visit again”
“Popped in with my wife for a quick drink as the ale selection looked great. We ended up both having the Sunday roast - beef and pork as it looked delicious - and was!! Everything freshly cooked to perfection! Beer was outstanding too!”
“There is a great selection of beers and at a very good price. Recently introduced menu has lured me in a few times. Love tge mushy peas test came with my Veggie sausages and mash. Building has a beautiful charm. Looks small from the outside but 3 floors of rustic charm.”
“Excellent choice of craft beer and lager. Staff are always friendly and it has a great atmosphere when you go during busy periods. Otherwise, it’s great for a pint by yourself.”
