“What a fabulous place! Take friendly staff, a nice welcome as we arrived and what a menu. Granted, not the cheapest, but the food was sublime, well presented, delightfully cooked, and the food was front and centre to the experience, we had coffee outside afterwards, which just wrapped things up for us.. I love about 45 minutes away, but it's well worth the journey to get there.. I had scallops with black pudding, which was so flavoursome to start and half a lobster, which was an impressive size, well worth the money. The other main had was a lobster roll.. simple, but very tasty.. The lemon meringue was the right condonation of tangy and crunchy, chewy meringue..”

“If you are looking for a Sunday lunch with a choice of meat or veg options, giant yorkshires, crispy roast potatoes, plenty of gravy cauliflower cheese and a great selection of veg….this is your place. I have visited corner 5 many times for lunch and dinner, today on a Sunday and I am devastated I have missed out on so many Sundays now I’ve been once. It was delicious. And we were treated to some very skilled wake boarders doing tricks too.”

“I first went here in 1977. And it became my go to place. Keema peas Vindaloo hot, Tarka daal, 2 chapattis and one rice. All I had to do was call and they wouldn't even wait for the order and just say 15 minutes and throw in half a pint of lager if I had to wait!! Of course I introduced a lot of people to eat here. Some still do. I live in California now....but this is still my must visit restaurant if I am in Bedford. Good food and good memories.”

“Great place to go for a bike meet, always busy and the food is lush! However they have started to implement a members only thing and have clearly said its not a bike meet. So suggest signing up if you want to go regularly. It's around a fiver for the year.”

“NBC is one of those off-beat stay overs. Big comfortable beds, great showers, quiet location, free on-site parking & about 15 mins from Central MK railway (40 mins into London). Breakfast is simple and self serve. Staff are incredibly helpful. Highly recommended.”

“Wonderful local run and historic buildings/trains and artifacts on display. Train carriages you can enter, displays, old cars, local experts and volunteers always on site. A great place to spend a couple hours and they have amazing local events like beer and sausage festivals etc super cheap day out”

“Popped into the Crown today for a drink. We hadn't planned to eat, but the food being served looked too good to miss. The ladies behind the bar were very accommodating and soon prepared us a table despite them being busy already. The food was hot, delicious and a perfect portion size. The beef was exquisite! The service overall was brilliant and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone.”

“Visited with a friend today, received a warm welcome. Food arrived in good time, nice and hot and portions are a good size. The sea bass was delicious and I loved my pudding with hot custard! “We recently had an excellent meal at The Horseshoe. The food was delicious and all piping hot with decent portion sizes. The children’s food was just as delicious as the adults. We have dietary requirements due to allergies and the staff were all very good at checking with the kitchen what would/wouldn’t be suitable on the menu and what may have had contact due to cooking techniques. The service was friendly and welcoming, giving the feel of a homely pub. We will definitely be returning.”
