“We arrived late back from our holiday on arrival, I asked the chap a question and explain to him that my card details had changed and he said that was not a problem. He would scam this card as well. I didn’t find that very amazing not when it was past midnight. The review of the Hotel was very good. It was Clean lovely and warm as we’ve just come back from a holiday of 35 c We had a good night sleep and in the morning went down and spoke to the lady who was very very helpful and directed us to the breakfast which was pre-booked. We had a lovely fry up for a breakfast which went down really well. The lady could not be more helpful she went out of her way to explain if we wanted to stay there next time you could park your car here at a very reasonable price and stay the night. I will definitely consider using this hotel again. It was only 10 minutes from the airport. East Midlands and I was impressed with the facilities.”

“Read endless bad reviews last minuet and was very hesitant to stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by lovely friendly staff who we expressed our concerns to and said if there was any problems please let them know. We then went to our rooms to be very happy. Clean rooms with two DOUBLE beds TWO clean bathrooms. I then contacted my dad who had read these bad reviews and told him how great it was. Once enjoying our rooms unpacking and finding lots of fresh towels another great point. We also had a mini fridge that was FREE!!! We went to the lobby to say how pleased we were with the hotel. It was a fun, friendly hotel the staff were wonderful and we will be booking again. If you are looking for 5 star quality rooms with rose petal beds then don't book but if you want a friendly hotel with a comfy bed and close city location for excellent prices then this is the hotel. Thank You to the staff and I hope more people write good reviews. We (myself and three friends) defiantly will be staying again and found no problems with the hotel.”

“Basic, but clean and tidy. Crisp white bedding and towels.had a good night's sleep. Tea,coffee, sugar and milk in fridge, & cooker in kitchen. Saved our weekend as our 1st place was crawling with bugs, damp and mouldy. Needs a re vamp it's an old building, some windows wouldn't open. Value for money yes, and would we stay there again, definitely.”

“We love Ian and Nikki! There's always a lovely atmosphere in The Olympic since they've taken over! Kareoke's are so fun, Sunday lunches are great, and it's always nice to put some songs on the jukebox! We also love that the pub is dog friendly and has a lovely big garden/seating area outside.”

“Stayed overnight on 5/7/25. At least our 6th time we have stayed at The Deincourt so become our go to Newark hotel when we visit family locally. We have stayed in the main building and the 2nd building across from the entrance. Full marks to January and her team, very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Great no frills rooms with all you need at a reasonable rate. Food is great and gets better and better, do recommend you try eating in. Top breakfast and superb pint of Guinness and local real ale at the well stocked bar, nice touch they insist on bringing your drinks to your table! Ignore any negatives, fantastic for the price, updating old buildings like that takes time. Will be back again.”

“We didn’t stay but took part in a tour of the vineyard and orchard, including tastings. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience - extremely interesting and informative with no shortage of samples on offer. Rob’s enthusiasm and dedication shone through and we wish him and his family all the very best as their business expands, especially with the addition of a cafe, which will benefit from a wonderful location overlooking the vines and apple trees.”

“After countless B&B's across the country over 40 years, this has got to be the best. The location, the room, the decoration and cleanliness, and above all the breakfast and our host Kevin, nothing was too much trouble (including looking after our plant purchases from Blue Diamond Garden Centre during our stay here). What more can we say, and we are hoping to return ASAP to continue exploring this lovely part of the country, including the Great Central Railway.”

“Absolutely fantastic! We have just come back from a short break and can't fault the experience. We stopped in Tern which is a beautiful pod, I really appreciate the large mugs for morning cups of tea! The pod is well kitted out with everything you might need including towels and robes. Me and my partner are both 6ft+ tall and found the bed and shower to be tall enough which is a bonus! The hot tub was lovely and the privacy shelters are great, we didn't feel overlooked at all. The site is small which makes it feel idyllic and as though there's only you and those around for miles. The lake was flooded when we stayed which means that we will only have to book again as my partner, having now seen the size of the fish, would love to spend a day sat fishing. We used the bar area in the morning for a quick game of pool and I imagine this would be a great place in future! The owners are lovely and made check in quick and easy! We made use of the discount at Tom Browns and had a lovely meal to celebrate my birthday. The pods are also well situated for sunbathing, if the english weather allows!. On our final morning we had two ducks come and sleep outside the pod and we loved watching them interact with each other. There is also a cat that visits the site who loves a bit of fuss and sunbathing! An excellent stay and I will recommend it to everyone I know! We will be returning!”

“Almost every Vizsla owner will know the special needs of this breed,….and almost every Vizsla owner will have felt the familiar pangs of anxiety, when the realisation kicks in, that you need to find a temporary carer for them, whilst you have to go places your four legged family member cannot. I searched far and wide to find this person/people before finding Vizsla Boarding (Ardanaiseig Vizslas home boarding). A specialist luxury home from home boarding service. This is my honest review: Personally, finding a Boarding Home starts with a website. First impressions count. Vizsla Boarding Website is not only professional, but comprehensive and informative regarding the services offered, including official information such as licence status, this sets the scene and was just what I needed when seeking details to help me decided whether to trust or not! When contacting Lesa and Robert they are fully receptive for any questions you have in order to support you making an informed decision. For me however it was more than the information, it was about ‘a feel for the people’, and in chatting to Lesa and Robert on several occasions (and having stalked them for about 6 months previously on FB + INSTA lol) my decision was very easy indeed. They are 100% true Vizsla people. To say I was nervous on the big day, was an understatement. My boy Arthur is a large 2 year old, 32kg, intact male – but as goofy and as submissive as you could possibly imagine. However the handover (and later introduction to the pack) was secure, slow and measured for my boy. Updates were regularly given and gratefully received, (I got sent some super video footage, as well as fabulous pictures - I swear he was smiling on all of them which really eased my anxiety about how my boy was doing - see picture attached - guess which smiling Vizsla is Arthur!!) and with private land next to Sherwood Forest for exercise, this place is Vizsla paradise. But as we know Vizsla’s are not all about exercise and mental stimulation, they are about love, attention and real need to be ‘Velcro’d’ at your side. This need is not overlooked at Vizsla Boarding. Indeed it is clearly part of the package. My boy was welcomed as if he was part of the family. Both Lesa and Robert are hands on and very tactile (seriously, check out the website pictures!). They are experts at balancing the 0-100mph capability of this breed and they do so with the utmost care, attention, and affection. In sum, I drive just over 2 hours to get to Viszla Boarding - but I would drive so much further if I had to. Lesa and Robert are exceptional in their care of Vizslas, together with the home from home service offered. Arthur had an absolute blast which was such a positive experience for him, he made new friends and we truly look forward to our next stay as there is no one I would trust more with my boy.”

“The rooms are a bit dated but that was far outweighed by the attitudes and helpfulness of the staff and the amazing unlimited breakfast which had loads of vegan options. Special mention to the staff member (unfortunately I didn't get get name) this morning (Sunday 9th Nov) who ordered a taxi for us to go to the station and followed up and provided updates when the taxi took a while to come. Șhe is a credit to Travelodge.”
