“This place is amazing. Everyone welcomes you in. Everyone talks to everyone. The food is to die for and decently priced. The chef really wants to please you with home made food with a menu that you don't know what to have because it all sounds nice. Two diverse outdoor spaces, one like a large gazebo in the shade and the other out the front in the sun, to suit various tastes and weather conditions. This is one of the best bar/gastro pubs about. I'll return with Erin the Hedgehog. Thank you for your hospitality. Animal friendly. X”

“The Dragon is my go to pub in Nottingham. It’s just a boozer, with no food, apart from a few cobs, which I like. Usually someone spinning some vinyl records they’ve brought in to play on their decks. The patio area on a sunny day is the perfect place for a pint and a chat with old friends and you often meet some eclectic characters who are always interesting.”

“Been coming fairly regularly since the new owners took over. Such a transformation. The owners and staff are great, super friendly and trying hard to turn the pub around. The ales are well kept and at a great price. Have had a Sunday roast (with a pint of titanic plum porter for desert.) on the first weekend and it was really tasty and good value for money, well worth a try. Also had a burger which was a big portion and tasty. Will definitely eat here again may even try the ultimate test and have the steak.”

“Been to the Stumble Inn a couple of times now, only had the home made cobs from the bar, but they were lovely and easily worth every penny! The staff are really friendly and nice people, and even the locals that drink there were really friendly too.... The live band on the night ( Dr Spork) were simply fantastic.”

“Visited for the first time, first impressions were a lovely, well kept country village pub. As soon as we arrived at the bar we were recommended a beer by a very friendly chap who chatted, engagingly to us for our brief stay (not only did he chat to us, he also introduced us to his friends who came in, who then stayed and chatted to us) We were served straight away by the friendly landlord with the recommended beer. The beer was top notch, well kept and very much enjoyed. I think had we just wanted a quiet pint to ourselves we would have only have to have sat down and our space would have been respected. So, in short, a great village pub, great beer and great company, should you wish it.”

“Awesome pub food, good service and great atmosphere. decore is upto date and has a desent sized car park and garden area with lots of seating to enjoy the sun and to relax in and they have a small covered seating area with heaters. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and bar area, not the eatting side though. Very happy to keep going back to this one :) they have small womens &mens toilets and a dissabled toilet to the back, with a ramp at the front doors. An outside covered bit for smokers. The price depends on if you have food and drinks, or just drinks. The staff are grate and quick to serve and sort any issues out. It can get very busy in summer or events that are happening in the area, but dont let that put you off going in.”

“Decent olde-style pub with nice staff. Real home-made food. Reasonable choice of standard ales, plus a couple of cask ales. Dog friendly. Outside area. Recently taken over by a group of ladies who've bought in a new chef. Food got better, and so did the service.”

“Popped in on the way home for a couple of pints and was greeted by a very polite gentleman am guessing the landlord made us feel very welcome. Wasn't very busy but was early but looking around am guessing it gets very busy at night. Heard good thing's about the food but that was from a long time ago and am unsure if they still do food and Sunday roasts. Definitely going back so will update later this place is dog friendly so that's nice to see.”

“This place is fantastic! Super friendly, welcoming and friendly staff. We arrived just in time for the Sunday Carvery and we are stuffed! It was so yummy I couldn’t help but gobble it down and all for £8. My friend had all the veg and Yorkshire pudding and they went to the kitchen and made him vegetable gravy. They have a live band setting up now. The place has a real buzz AND its dog friendly. Love it!!!”

“I've lived in Castle Donington my whole life and the lamb is my favourite pub, I always feel so welcomed and safe the staff are absolutely lovely, especially Sarah and Millie, they're so friendly and wonderful. There's a large variety of drinks as well so there's something for everyone. The pub garden is so nice and welcoming as well and I can't wait to visit again.”

“Very nice relaxing stay, rooms high standard and clean and quiet. My only complaint is that it was incredibly hot in the room and the windows only opened a fraction. It's also a great location being only a few minutes walk from city centre bars and restaurants.”
