“Outstanding service from a super warm reception to paying the bill. Everything was flawless. Party if 4, 3 had the amazing Sunday roast and 1 had the Chicken salad. The Hawkstone cider and lager was superb, just what you need on a hot day! Highly recommended.”

The two mains and a bottle of wine deal on Tuesdays and Fridays is a bargain. Clean pub, lovely outside area, nicer than it looks from the front.”

“We were here for a wedding. The space was beautifully decorated. It looked gorgeous and rustic, perfect for photos. As vegans we felt pleasantly surprised by the amount of choices available to us. The starters and dessert in particular were nice. Service was great, everyone was attentive and helpful. The musician, Paul Tabor, that was playing was incredible. Overall we’d highly recommend it.”

“Recently had a large birthday party attending The Wheatsheaf and I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Terry and his fabulous team for looking after us all so well. From start to finish everything was brilliant - the food was delicious and the drinks were flowing. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was perfect for my birthday celebrations. It really made the night special. “We had a spontaneous visit after the heritage railway and country park, its a nice place and had a kids menu which is always useful for the little people. Food was very nice and we didn't need to wait too long, outside area was packed which means we didn't have to worry about kids disrupting other peoples meals as we stayed inside! Price was generally not too bad, although kids meal could have been a tad cheaper, especially for very small people...!”

“THIS is a proper English pub. Stayed here twice, staff are welcoming, food is incredible, none of those cheap crappy sauces, decent portions, great beer and lovely decor and amenities. Can’t recommend enough!”

“What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours!The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. Thank you Trent Lock Pub Nick & Jackie The free pub Stop-overs are great and all you need to do is eat or drink in the pub that evening.”

“What a great place. We are on our way back from Scotland and discovered this gem. The hospitality and service are hard to beat. Despite the late hour, everything we had hoped for was made possible. Individual menus were put together in consultation with Jess and the team. They even asked how the dog would like his steak. We were able to park our campervans at the back of the pub. It's a really great place with a good location right next to a green space. The food was delicious and less greasy than in comparable pubs. Thank you, Jess, for everything. We hope to see you again soon. And a big thank you to the wonderful new bartender (unfortunately, I don't know her name).”
