“Very nice relaxing stay, rooms high standard and clean and quiet. My only complaint is that it was incredibly hot in the room and the windows only opened a fraction. It's also a great location being only a few minutes walk from city centre bars and restaurants.”

We ordered using the online service and the food arrived fairly quickly. The decor and vibe of the place is nice. Great place to meet friends or have a date.”

“I have just spent and afternoon here raising money for the local play group and the place was good, plenty of support. I was embarrassed to win some money and returned 30 of the 50. Which was the aim of the game. Returned back to campsite a happy bunny. Excellent staff good food sunny day a great place all round.”

“The Rose and Crown is easily one of the best student pubs in Notts. The food and drinks are always spot on, and the BOGOF cocktails on Fridays and Saturdays are a huge plus. The entire team is friendly, welcoming, and always up for a laugh, making the atmosphere both comfortable and enjoyable. Sean is by far the best manager, while Tracy and Angela always look after customers and make sure everyone’s having a good time. The chefs are quick and provide some of the best pub food around, and karaoke nights are always entertaining, making it a go-to destinationw with a fun mood every time xx”

“This place is amazing. Everyone welcomes you in. Everyone talks to everyone. The food is to die for and decently priced. The chef really wants to please you with home made food with a menu that you don't know what to have because it all sounds nice. Two diverse outdoor spaces, one like a large gazebo in the shade and the other out the front in the sun, to suit various tastes and weather conditions. This is one of the best bar/gastro pubs about. I'll return with Erin the Hedgehog. Thank you for your hospitality. Animal friendly. X”

“Been coming fairly regularly since the new owners took over. Such a transformation. The owners and staff are great, super friendly and trying hard to turn the pub around. The ales are well kept and at a great price. Have had a Sunday roast (with a pint of titanic plum porter for desert.) on the first weekend and it was really tasty and good value for money, well worth a try. Also had a burger which was a big portion and tasty. Will definitely eat here again may even try the ultimate test and have the steak.”

“My friend and I came on the Christmas Market coach trip to Stratford upon avon. We got a pack lunch included and there was entertainment on the coach. Amazing value for money and we will definitely go again next year.”

“Came all the way from Manchester to eat here again. Pizza is flavorful, chips are crunchy, doner meat is juicy, prices are great(10 quid for the doner calzone) and it's right by the train station. Very friendly staff, low wait times. Would recommend.”

“Had a fantastic Mother's Day meal. A lovely venue with quite a nice cozy and spacious feel about it. The food was really, really good and service was great too. The table was laid out with a couple of nice additional touches, with red petals and a handwritten Mothers card. Nice touch. A big bonus is being able to take dogs in too.”

The service was friendly and prompt, the food delicious and plentiful and the Landlord beer and Guiness excellent. One huge advantage of the pub is its located just a couple of minutes walk to a path alongside the Trent. Just ideal for a pre or post meal walk.”

“Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!”

“Came with a friend for dinner, she has been a few times and said it was good. She was not wrong, the food was delicious, staff were very friendly and also gave good advice, and the atmosphere was very welcoming too. Would definitely visit again next time I'm around! I ordered the steak burger, my friend ordered the chicken burger - we cut them both in half and shared them to try both. Delicious! I had the cheese board for dessert which was really nice too. Would recommend to anyone!”

“Didn't even know this place insisted. Just been to Forest shop and needed to have something to eat. Googled, pubs near me and this pub came up. Inside lovely and clean, not busy today lady behind bar was very welcoming and nice. Didn't have to wait long for our food. Tex sharer and cheese, bacon burger. All of the food was so delicious. Definitely visit again if in the area. Thank you!!”

“My cousin's local. Guinness about £3.80 a pint. The food is amazingly good. Two fish & chips and two burger in a basket meals (Mmm.. This IS a tasty burger) for about £37. I wish I had these prices down South.”

“Looked and felt just like a completely normal pub but all of the food was vegan! This is exactly the sort of place I love. The food was incredible, I went for the tofish tacos and as it was Friday I got this plus a pint for £12. Relatively quiet at 6pm on a Friday, plenty of tables to choose from and not too noisy that we could chat easily”

“Nice pint of beer. Lovely location and large beer garden. Recently revisited and stopped for a pint whilst out walking. Great stop off point if walking along the nearby Grantham Canal.”

“Nipped in at about 20:30 on a weekday and Nicky showed us to a lovely table and talked us through the specials, the service she gave was so warm and friendly and the food was really good! I had the pie and my partner had the chicken schnitzel, we shared the baked Camembert to start. Cannot fault anything here, all this and it’s dog friendly! Brilliant”
