“Beautiful food, perfect in every way!! Only criticism is we weren’t asked how our food was soon after receiving it, brother had fries and would have liked some kind of sauce. Noticed waitresses and waiters would happily avoid eye contact, weren’t overly busy and plenty of staff but preferred to chat. Waited a long time for bill also. Again no complaints about the food compliments to the chef, staff could have been more attentive that’s all.”

“Had a fantastic meal at Hickory’s Smokehouse in Nottingham last Saturday night with friends! The food was genuinely impressive — hands down the best BBQ I’ve had from anywhere in the UK. The meats were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and had that authentic smoky taste that’s so hard to find done right over here unless I'm doing it on my BBQ at home!! The staff were brilliant too — super friendly, attentive, and brought a fun, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. It really made the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely planning to return soon. If you’re into BBQ and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!!”

“10outof10 from start to finish We went for the tasting menu which was just perfect Every dish was so delicious and well presented from the sourdough bread (the marmite butter was divine) to finish off with the waygu steak but the chicken pate was something extra.. by far the best dish I had in my life!!! Big shout out to Chris which looked after us so well and make us feel so comfortable and btw the wine he recommended us was spot on.. At the end I would like to thank chef Laurence and his team for such of lovely experience By far best meal ever !! THANKS”

“Great food. Had a lovely lunch from the set menu. Very reasonably priced and main and desert were spot on. Had a latte and a soft drink as well, all nice. Don't know about alcohol prices but well worth a visit for lunch. Just a short update. Unfortunately the current management team are having to give up this pub in August 2025 due to new government budget pressures and family illness. Such a shame. Hope they can get somewhere else soon and, if not, wish them all the best for the future”

“Under new management the meal was so much better than previously. The Tavern was busier than usual and therefore had a really nice atmosphere. We will be returning on a regular basis. Now that it’s getting busier I would recommend booking in advance.”

This place has found a special place in my heart.I cannot wait for my next trip to Nottingham. Compliments to the two lovely ladies who served us. They remind me of my favourite Auntie. “Got my order wrong 1 time and wasn’t happy but have been going to this place for many years bound too happen 1 time right…the bacon is really fatty, nonetheless everything else is excellent. 10/10 rating the sausage is great the eggs are nice and the hash browns are amazing and staff are super nice and friendly :)”

“The Rose and Crown is easily one of the best student pubs in Notts. The food and drinks are always spot on, and the BOGOF cocktails on Fridays and Saturdays are a huge plus. The entire team is friendly, welcoming, and always up for a laugh, making the atmosphere both comfortable and enjoyable. Sean is by far the best manager, while Tracy and Angela always look after customers and make sure everyone’s having a good time. The chefs are quick and provide some of the best pub food around, and karaoke nights are always entertaining, making it a go-to destinationw with a fun mood every time xx”

“Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!”

“Been to this hotel a few times now. Love the location, great for a middle point for shopping and Rock City. There's an Irish lady who works in the pub who has a lovely personality and makes me feel at ease when ordering. I do not know her name, but will make a point of asking next time .”

“What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours!The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. “Absolutely outstanding carvery, every meat for a Sunday roast available including lamb, A choice of medium beef or well done beef, Pork and great crackling, gammon, turkey! All veg fresh, banging roasties and creamy mash! Not forgetting the crispy stuffing balls and immense Yorkshire puddings....infact, the best yorkies I've ever had!! Will definitely be returning!”

“Whet for a 50th birthday party the atmosphere was great, the establishment through out was very clean and tidy. The staff was great and very cheerful, professional and polite the food was great and also as 2 rooms at the front and a big room at the back with a big outdoor garden with table. At the front they have ample of parking space and also for people who smoke an outdoor shelter I would recommend this place from my experience.”

“I have bought food from the Marina for about 6 years now. I’m in no way a regular customer, I’ve probably averaged once or twice a year, but I still wanted to review. Tonight, I got their isiewu, beans , plantain and assorted meat, and suya. Really really tasty, very generous portions and authentic Nigerian food. The owner’s customer service has also greatly improved. He’s nice, and will greet you with a smile and chat with you if you’re so inclined. Highly recommended.”

“Great pub! Because the drinks are reasonable as is the food. Even better if you like to watch Nottingham Forest footy matches on the massive screen! Or other teams matches. I’m not a footy fan, but lots of people are so it’s a great location. There are other areas too, away from the match. Staff do a good job but like a lot of places these days there’s not much human engagement at all - especially if you order online. Very quick online service on a Sunday afternoon.”
