“I would recommend the 90 minute trip as gets all the way to the next lock, although some kids may prefer the 60 minutes. Captain was very friendly and informative with lots of skill navigating all the different vessels along the river.”

The weather was kind to us and the Eliza Grace is just the perfect boat to glide up the river on. The hamper with plates and bottle opener etc was a nice touch and great that Ben came on board to start with just to show us the ropes before sending us on our way. “It was the most serene experience I've ever had. The canal boat was horsedrawn by a beautiful shire cob called drummer. It was a two hour trip one hour each way and we got to experience the locks and how the boat is turned around. Really interesting. You couldn't hear anything but the birds oh sorry passing trains as I learnt that the canals help build the railways. Please really worth a trip. It is a small family business and the owners are lovely.”

“Today I had to visit the Tui store to amend a holiday I booked online. I was helped by Eddy, who is probably one of the nicest and most helpful people I have had the pleasure to meet. The process itself was quite drawn out as he had to call the web team, who seemed to be having issues. But Eddy, got us through, he really knows how stuff, so was able to advise on locations, and help us get the best out of our holiday. Whilst waiting, he also opened our mind to the world of merrella cruises, which we have decided to book for 2027. “After chatting to the very helpful Alex over the phone this morning I visited the shop where we were looked after by Charlie. She was very knowledgeable and patient. At no point during the 45 mins she spent with us as we tried on/fitted various pieces of kit did i feel at all rushed. I am satisfied that we came away with the equipment we needed. “Thanks to Tanya and the staff at Tui, I enjoyed a relaxing and carefree off-peak holiday to Malta, carefully planned and prepaid before hand. There were no hidden charges, all mini buses turned up promptly, the hotel had the best location on the bay. The Maltese folk culture night was superb and great value. Everything was in our budget and we saw in a short time some wonderful things. I thoroughly recommend the Tui branch in Reading.”

“Lovely trip on the canal near Odiham. We did the cruise out to the Barley Mow pub and the walk back. We did the 3 mile walk in about 1 hour but many take a slower pace and amble along. The tow path is well made of compacted earth and stones but there are trip hazards such as tree roots. We set off at 10.30am and a ploughman's lunch of cheese, ham, salad, apple, pickle and bread was served about 12 noon. Hot and cold drinks including wine are available for extra from the bar. Also available are snacks and souvenirs. We were a party of 5 with 2 who were allergic to nuts and Sue, who organises and prepares the food couldn't have been more helpful. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. We were kept informed by Roger who knows everything there is to know about that stretch of the river. We stopped for a lovely drink in the Barlow Mow's beer garden and saw a wonderful display of Red Admirals. A wonderful day out with grown up family. I would recommend these theme trips with the John Pinkerton boat and the lovely volunteers.”

“My workplace booked this for a work do, which was well organised and a lot of fun! What really stood out was when we bought a last minute ticket (separate to our works group booking) we realised the night before the event that someone was placed on the wrong boat! Luckily, Lester at 11pm on the Friday night was working outside of hours and kind enough to quickly sort out the mistake on our part and put us on the right boat! He was courteous, quick, and efficient - his attitude to helping us so last minute (literally hours before the event) is a testament to the company's commitment to ensure everything goes smoothly. Would definitely recommend based on Lester's professional ability to sort our mishap so quick.”

“We approached Chris at Waterloo Travel to put together a bespoke trip for us to Scotland. We knew we wanted to see a few key sites but didn't know which way to do them, where to stay or what would be best in terms of travel arrangements. Chris was able to step up and help with all of that. He pulled together an incredible plan featuring all of the spots we wanted to see plus some extras we hadn’t thought of to include. He even managed to get us on some alternative transport methods including the Caledonian Sleeper train to Scotland – which is a must! He found some incredibly beautiful B&B’s for us to stay in, guest houses and hotels. It was a real mixture of accommodation that gave us the flexibility to see all the sites, eat and drink in different places and experience all Scotland has to offer. Chris really made the whole planning process easy and stress free! I can’t wait to book our next adventure with Waterloo travel.”

“I don't usually do reviews, but I will make an exception for the Scuba Place. We first used The Scuba Place in 2020 (yes THAT year!) when we planned to do a new Egypt Liveaboard. That fell through, but John's persistence to make something happen for us meant that a later trip went ahead to Grenada. We feel truly lucky to have been able to get away that year, and to accompany John and family, and a great group of others. John dealt with every emerging crisis (no exaggeration, there were inevitably several, as their blog attests) in a calm, can-do manner - and always with a smile on his face. Admirable. Would definitely recommend, and will use again.”
