“What a lovely location next to the River Thames. Warm friendly atmosphere and good food at sensible prices. All 3 courses we had were well presented delicious and good sized. Would definitely visit again.”
“Had a great time, always open of your stuck in Basingstoke for the weekend”
“A frequent visitor to the cafe. Wonderful scones, and found the rest of the food of a good standard and well cooked. Very friendly staff who will always stop to say hello to us and our dog. Extremely dog friendly with water bowls always full of water. Well worth a visit.”
“Enzymes always helpful whenever we pop in to order our food. Very polite, make you feel at ease and and let us know the deals at hand.”
“Highly recommend this place for everyone, super fast, high quality, and professional outstanding service, well done.”
“First visit today for a late lunch. One brisket burrito and a naked burrito. Amazing food!! Really fresh, fragrant and filling! The young lassie was super helpful and cheerful and recommended the meal deal and we both upgraded. We will absolutely be returning. Our new favourite takeaway in Didcot.”
“I've been here a couple times as Asda has some cereal that I can't find elsewhere.. there is plenty of space to move around, always in and out without any issue & always friendly staff. It isn't easy to get to from the centre of Reading & the best way to go there is to drive or to walk if you have the time.”
“Went for lunch Kokoro Friday 3rd Oct. Ordered spicy sweet chilli chicken with noodles, very nice, and large portion also. Staff very friendly and gave me a sample to ensure not to spicy for me (68yrs) Delicious.”
“Brilliant friendly service! Good was delicious! Crispy prawn toast and battered chicken balls! Chicken chow mein was delicious as always! Love coming here for my Friday Chinese take away!”
“Food arrived well before time and received piping hot. Cheese crust pizza was nicely presented. Papa John’s added a chicken poppers which are great to taste. In Desserts I love chocolate brownies. This store is serving fresh dough pizza from a while. Also changed the outlook of the which is great addition to the beauty of Shinfield Road.”
“Exceptional service from Harpareet! I called in with a last-minute pizza order, and Harpareet was an absolute lifesaver. She was incredibly helpful, efficient and went above and beyond to make sure my order was placed correctly and would be ready on time. The pizza was amazing - hot, fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall, it led to a great PIZZA experience!”
“Very helpful / friendly staff, l went in to pick up a spare elec key! .”
“Very clean , well stocked and friendly staff. Manager helped me to find some essential items which I was looking for. Definitely going there again”
“I visited Herbies and ordered a tandoori pizza, which was absolutely delicious. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming, making a fantastic pizza that was well worth the price. Even though they were about to close, they stayed open to serve us at the last minute. I'm very glad we chose to stop by the restaurant for pizza.”
“I can only assume this cafe has come under new management since the last several reviews, as I have been visiting regularly on my morning commutes for the last 2 or 3 years (both before and after various lockdowns) and have always had extremely positive experiences. None of the descriptions in other reviews match the lovely blonde-haired lady I am nearly always served by, who is consistently friendly and attentive and has even offered different coffee recommendations on the occasions when I've been undecided and asked. I find the pastries to be very high quality - the croissants especially are my favourite, always crisp and flavourful (and in my opinion much better than Pret's). The coffee has always been fresh and tasty and they offer a full range of milk alternatives. The range of packaged snacks and drinks is good. There is usually a small selection of fresh fruit available as well. All in all I find it the perfect place to grab breakfast before my morning train journey. They have a loyalty card and I have filled one twice already! Highly recommend. (also google has their opening times wrong - they claim the cafe opens at 9am, but I am often at the station around 7am and delighted to find it already open with machines up and running, so very early commuters should not be fooled, you can easily make use of their delicious services!)”
“Emanuel was fantastic today. He served a perfect cappuccino and tea for us while having great conversation while we wait. Definitely an excellent place to stop when he’s about. Welcoming, professional and funny.”

“Best Kebab in Wokingham! Food was delivered fast and hot. The portion sizes are huge; me and my partner ordered a mixed kebab each, with proper chip shop chips and chicken wings. The food was super tasty! We called to add on extra sauces and that wasn’t a problem at all. Would definitely recommend and we will defo be ordering again! Yum!!!”

“We’ve been regular customers of HAKA for a long time, and the food has always been consistently excellent. Some of our favourites are the chicken chow mein, crispy beef, salt and pepper chicken, and crispy aromatic duck, all absolutely delicious! We understand Fridays and Saturdays can be very busy, so we usually order early. The food is always worth the wait – fresh, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great Chinese takeaway in the area!”
“Typical Tex-Mex fare - there'd be some thing really wrong if I couldn't say "good Nachos". The fries were fair / acceptable - just don't come at the end of a slow, weekday if you want them hot. A different, affordable, quick-service option. Otherwise, there's always Gregg's!”
“Got a hot chocolate while waiting for a friend. I wasn't expecting much but it was the nicest hot chocolate I've had at a train station cafe before. Not fancy but it was perfect”
“Best chinese i ever tasted in my life, wow! Was boiling hot, and they really came out of their way to deliver! .. tastiest Chinese ever!!”
“Best Chinese takeaway out I've had in years! So fresh and tasty. Sweet and Sour sauce is phenomenal. Definitely will get again!!”
“NB The previous owner has gone and it’s no longer the Jahan Kitchen – it’s now run by different people – and the negative reviews refer to the previous guy (who left July/Aug 2024). The food at Panna Kitchen is superb. I’ve never had a mainstream madras or tikka masala from there – but I’ve had a number of their specialist dishes – the Railway Chicken Curry, Bengal Naga, Chicken Makhani – and they are ruddy fantastic. There is literally no comparison in value for money between Panna Kitchen and other curry houses – they absolutely stuff their food boxes. The sheer weight of them tells you. One rice box does at least three people! Compared to The Shenai? You’re joking! A little while ago, I ordered a butter chicken and naan bread from The Shenai, takeaway, and it was £16.90! Split it between two of us and it was nowhere near a meal – both hungry afterwards. From Panna Kitchen, I got a railway curry, rice, naan bread and a bombay aloo, they gave a discount and it came to £16.50 – and THREE of us were stuffed afterwards. And they gave a few free poppadums as well. & the food quality was absolutely brilliant! The difference between the two is mental. The Panna Kitchen might not be the most efficient nor quickest, bless ‘em, but they do glorious food and it’s EXCELLENT value!”
