“A nicely located pub just in the heart of Prospect Park. The place has plenty of free parking (don’t forget to register at check in). The menu is quite ‘suculent’ with lots of options and nicely cooked food (not a fish ‘n’ chip bar). The view is great over the park with a quiet ambiance. You can have salad as much as you like which is a vegan’s paradise. Waiting time for taking the order is a bit long but quite polite so doesn’t feel rushed in any way. Book and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner with family, friends or just on your own.”

“Fantastic experience stopping in for lunch. The OXBO burger was probably the best burger I have eaten recently, the addition of rarebit made for a delicious twist on a conventional cheese burger. Highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff. The staff were attentive, but not intrusively so. I felt looked after. The cafe has a lovely calm atmosphere, but not boringly so. There were a few customers in giving it a good vibe, but without being hectic - I didn't wait long for service or for my food to arrive. It would be an ideal place for someone looking to have a working lunch, and there are spaces set out with power outlets for those with busy working schedules. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Green Park, making for a nice change to eating in the company cafe if you are working nearby.”

Despite being a large party of 15, they accommodated us at very short notice—something many places wouldn’t even attempt on a busy weekend day. The manager/owner personally welcomed us, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. He went out of his way to explain that the chicken and lamb are halal, which was not only thoughtful but allowed several of us to explore more of the menu confidently. On his recommendation, we ordered the chicken focaccia, which turned out to be a standout—tender, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. Highly recommended. The pizzas were genuinely authentic Neapolitan style—light, airy crust with just the right char, and high-quality ingredients you can taste in every bite. The food came out quickly, and despite the group size, the waitresses were welcoming, attentive, and incredibly efficient, ensuring everyone was looked after without missing a beat. To finish, we had coffee—and I can honestly say, it was the best I’ve had in Maidenhead. Rich, smooth, and perfectly pulled. We followed that with fresh cannoli, which were the ideal sweet finish. There’s a certain charm to the atmosphere here. With the smell of fresh dough, barista-quality coffee, and the staff’s warmth, if the people around were dressed just a bit more elegantly, you might just mistake yourself for an eaterie in Naples or Rome. This was my first visit to Presto, but absolutely won’t be the last. It’s rare to find a place that delivers great food, personal service, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere all in one.”

“Surprised by how high quality the food and cocktails are! Loved everything - especially the devilled toast, the pork shank was done perfectly and delicious salmon too. We had two cocktails each person, really impressed with how they use fresh fruits rather than fruity syrup - do try their specials!”

“Very good local pub with a friendly atmosphere. The decor is classic old school, the are 2 very nice, old looking wood burning stoves. The bar staff were friendly enough and the beers on tap were very reasonably priced, especially for a pub down south! We went on a Friday and it was busy, but I think that adds to the atmosphere, but turn up early to get a table if you're a big group. I will definitely be returning on the not too distant future and recommending this pub to friends and family. Oh, and it is cash only, so come prepared.”

“My family and I visited The Shurlock Inn for the first time as it was suggested to me by a colleague at work. We were greeted by the team and very quickly placed our orders. I would say we must have waited max 10-15 mins for the food to arrive at our table! We chose to go for Sunday roasts which were beautifully presented, everything tasted so fresh. We also went for desserts. Again, everything was presented nicely and tasted excellent. Our only thing which could be improved potentially is the thickness of the gravy/custard as these both seemed on the watery side. “I have known of this restaurant for a while, but do not live near by. Finally I decided to pay a visit. I loved their food and service. The front desk lady is super efficient. The menu is delectable and have many of my favorites. I loved the Thali concept as it provided many of my favorites in small portions, more than enough in quantity for a person's meal. All the dishes tasted great and I ended up having takeaways as well. One of the owners was there and came to greet which is a wonderful gesture. I hope this restaurant flourishes as there are not many authentic Bengali restaurants around. Looking forward to my next visit.”
