“Sarah came out to do readings with our dogs. I was blown away with the accuracy of the information she gave us about them, and also told us things about their history that made sense as to why they do/ behave certain ways now. They also told us some information about us as humans, which was funny and scarily accurate. Sarah is amazing at what she does, she put us all at ease straight away and has helped us gain a better understanding of our dogs. Would highly recommend.”
“I would just like to thank you all for making the last journey for Charlie calm and comfortable as possible, Charlie was 14 and it was the biggest decision we had to make to pick up the phone but from me making the call to getting his ashes Serenity Vets made the whole process as calm and comfortable for Charlie as possible. When the vet came out she didn't rush us in any way at all she left us with Charlie and said take as much time as you it is a heartbreaking decision we had to make but Charlie his free from pain now thank you once again we would definitely recommend your kind service.”
“Very personalised service by two caring and wonderful people. The fact there is not a waiting room makes it calming for the animals. Please don't ever retire!”
“Special thanks goes to Natalie R for demonstrating true customer service. Calling me with details on road closures that would have hampered my journey, and for providing details of an alternative route. Plus, the service with a smile when I arrived.”
“I would really like to recommend Chapel House Vets in Staveley to anyone looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional vet practice. On our recent visit, we were greeted by lovely reception staff and again by a welcoming vet who introduced herself, called our dog by her named and listened carefully to the reason for our visit before carrying out a comprehensive examination and coming up with a diagnosis and treatment plan. Cannot fault these guys, give them a try.”
“Really helpful. I was given the run around by a few organisations I contacted after I picked up an injured juvenile duck that was caught on a fishing line/hook. The volunteer at Brinsley took her (I think) in for treatment. Great guy; really friendly and professional despite being there by himself with all those animals to take care of.”
“Always feel so welcome at this Vets. All the staff are super friendly, compassionate and helpful. Micky (or Nicky?) is always super helpful and friendly on the phone and when you go in, as is Steph. All the vets I see also always very loving towards my cats. I know cats can be sassy little things but mine are such cuddle bears that the vets always pinch a cuddle and say how friendly they are. Always manage to get the right diagnosis and gets them better. Could recommend them enough. Thanks as always :)”
“I can’t thank Eoin enough. He’s been fantastic and thorough getting to the bottom of the issues with our cat. Really wonderful vet.”
“My puppy had very short and bent leg Jim and his colleagues made him better now he runs as well as my other akita thank you so much p.s love from TANK”
“Would never recommend any other vets to anyone. They have always dealt with us doing our visits (of which there have been many) with compassionate, friendliness and expertise.”
“Had an amazing experience with this vets! My cat was transferred here for an overnight stay, when I arrived I was heartbroken as I had just been told by our regular vet that our cat could potentially pass away, vets now were so kind to me when I arrived and gave me tissues and even time alone to cuddle my pet. They decided to do surgery on my cat and were open and honest with me the whole time about costs and risks, they even helped me sort out my insurance on my phone as I was a wreck. Thankfully the surgery went okay and they managed to pull something out that was stuck in his belly. Even my regular vet didn’t do this, instead told me he possibly has a rare condition and could pass away, if it wasn’t for this vets I dread to think what would have happened next. I just want to thank the reception staff and vets, and anyone else who was involved as he is now recovering and doing much better and for your kindness, support and sympathy as it did not go unnoticed.”
“Absolutely fantastic service, we live in Derbyshire and this was the only poultry vet we could find short notice they saw us straight away and my lovely chicken was in safe hands and is feeling much better after they diagnosed her with a bacterial infection, thankyou! We will definitely stick to using southwell poultry services despite the distance after the fantastic service we received from Libby and the team.”
“Had such an amazing first experience with Hunters Bar yesterday, such lovely staff who made me feel relaxed. Registered both my pets with them after such a great service for my oldest cat. Couldn’t be happier with how they treated her, you can tell that all the staff genuinely love and care so much for pets”

“Our Border Collie had a cruciate ligament injury and was operated on at Frank's in Leeds. The physio rehab with Sarah was excellent and met Lulu's needs entirely. Sarah is very knowledgeable, understands totally the needs of the dog at the various stages of rehabilitation and suggested exercises that were challenging but highly appropriate. We are so glad we had Sarah's support.”
“I have had Georgie for nearly 10 years and I would NOT have any other vet. Georgie has saved my boys and done work on my horses that other vets wouldn't even consider. Georgie always finds a solution to suit you and your horse physically and financially! Also unlike many other vets georgie takes the time to explain what it is she is doing or going to do. Gives advice exactly how you want it. Up front and honest not sugar coated ! I wouldn't trust any other vet to see to my horses as in my experience she's always been the best. I've had horses for 18 years and the 10 years I've had Georgie she has always excelled more than anyone !!”
“My dog went in for neutering. He is 40Kg and was extremely anxious. It took 3 nurses, my daughter and me to hold him and tranquillise him. The staff were brilliant. No huffs or puffs about being called away from other work. I was called as soon as the surgery was over to let me know he was coming round. Very attentive.”
“I have been with this vet for nearly 30years with all my dogs I would not consider any other vet as trust I have in them also staff are all friendly and willing to help”
“Really friendly reception staff. The vet who saw our dog was kind and actually offered to do a proper cytology to find out what was going on with his ears, unlike several vets we have seen before with the same issue. Her advice was clear and helpful along with some tips for avoiding potential irritations for my dog going forward. She explained everything we needed to know and took the time to explain pricing and made sure everything was itemized for us. Overall I couldn't find any faults with the practice and am definitely happy to have my dog registered here for the future.”
“The receptionist’s are really helpful and the vets are all knowledgeable and friendly,. I have decided to go with the monthly payment plan as the sums made sense. I have used Dowding’s for years and every time I have been I have been extremely happy.”
“Rang last minute for ovulation test, after a more local clinic let me down twice! I was booked in the same day, Florence was treated respectfully, great service highly recommended.. will definitely use again”
“Lovely vet Kate! So caring, explained everything clearly and I wasn’t rushed at all. Really felt my pet was cared for and his wellbeing came first.”
“Good thorough check by the vet, well explained. Friendly client care staff”
“Always seen promptly from arrival to seeing the vets. Great service from great staff.”
“Lovely vets. Let me drop an injured hedgehog off found and didn't charge me, gave me my cat carrier back and and calmed me down as I was panicking xx”
“Very pleasant experience today, highly recommend the lady vet, she was very knowledgeable but most of all she knew how to connect with nervous animals, extremely happy with her, gone are the days where the same vet builds up knowledge and a relationship with your pet.”
“Our dog Piper is aggressive sometimes and we had a concern how she would be with the vets. The vets was so good and caring. She even tried to give him kisses. Brilliant service!”
“Been with this vets on and off for several years now and all of the vets and nurses I've seen here are very kind, caring and professional. The receptionists are very good and will go out of their way to help with appointments and queries. The Practice Manager is very pro-active and can often be seen in the background supporting staff members in what can only be described as very busy and at times possibly stressfull enviroment for staff members. She is very passionate and caring and a strong manager. They are open 24/7 and their prices are very reasonable in comparison to other vets, although administration fees for dispensing medications can be around £16 per item, (bearing in mind that almost all vets charge this not just Barnsley Vets for pets) plus the cost of the medications, some of which can be bought online with a prescription for much less, there is a charge for prescriptions but they are very reasonable! So it's probably worth getting a prescription which is active for 6 months once prescribed, for things like worming and flea products or long-term medications. All in all this vets offers up-to-date treatments and are very caring and knowledgeble.”
