Indian restaurant in Doncaster

“We visited Spice and Ice last night and were blown away by the quality of the food. We were also really dismayed that we were the only people in. So firstly, the restaurant itself is still super glamourous and very comfortable. But the food is the real star now. Firstly, they have included very interesting dishes on the menu such as Gobi Manchurian and Aloo Papri Chaat alongside curry house favourites. They managed to get everything right. Our favourite dish was a smoky aubergine dish called Baingan Bharta. The waiter explained how they burtnt the aubergine skin to get the flavour. We got the impression that all the food was made from scratch with this type of care. Another star dish was the Samosas, they are the Punjabi style made with thick pastry, slightly spicy and very filling. Also, the wine was a reasonable price and great quality. So the only criticism we could come up with was “no craft beer”, but that’s pretty much the same for all restaurants in Doncaster. Finally, the staff were excellent. They were knowledgeable, polite and professional. Photo of the bill included but we all thought it was excellent value for what we had. They are obviously skilled in the trade and cared about customers. We told them they need an Open Now banner out front because we thought the place had closed down. Anyway, if you are in the area, please give them a go.”

“Absolutely love this place. They do the best kebabs and bread I've ever tasted. Lovely friendly staff when you call the guy is always personable and friendly. Wouldn't order a kebab from anywhere else now. Fast delivery, great service, good portions. Couldn't ask for anything else. And sadly they know its me when I call! :)”

“Tha food is wonderful, however, it's cash only, make sure you ask for your receipt or you won't get one. Service when we went there last week, was slow and I'm not totally sure how to describe the two guys working the tables, one was really nice, the other though was pleasant, but not sure about him! We were 8, 6 adults one 5 year old and a baby, and we were a loud group, so maybe he had reservations about us. We did have a lovely evening despite my gripes.”

The Tikka on Naan was outstanding too, full of taste and cooked perfectly. On top of that, the customer service was excellent with friendly and clear communication. “Best Indian in Doncaster we've been ordering for 18 months and yet to have a bad one! People complain about the wait times for delivery yet we've only ever waited up to 1hr 20 on a peak Saturday. Collection 20 mins most times. Food always tastes amazing nowhere else tops them!”

“The curry was amazing! Alot of flavour in the cheesy seekh kebab and the curries! I ordered a nutella crepe aswell eating in and it was delicious! Service is kind aswell as staff greeting us friendly. Atmosphere was normal and average conditions, Not alot of people except when you can hear the sizziling from the dessert, as a person from Bradford, I've never tried anything like this!”
