βIt's a lovely place to get sandwiches of any kind, the bacon and egg is brilliant and really tasty. The staff are amazing and treat you really nice, it's easy to get too and the service is fastβ
βFantastic breakfast this morning while sat outside in the sun. Ordered the XXL breakfast and Tea. Good portion size served by very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean place and very prompt service. Thanks.β
βSmall cosy little place, great in winter. They do a fantastic breakfast and the tea/coffee is also superb. The atmosphere is obviously very good with it being such a small place and despite them always being busy, the service is very quick! Would highly recommend Taste if you're at a loose end in Retford.β
βVery good service good food freindly staff.nice and warm inside.β
βWe did the wreath making last Christmas and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were so helpful and made everyone feel welcome. The cakes were delicious and we canβt wait to book for this year! We will also be looking out for the Halloween event as my daughter will love it!β
βKefi hosted my baby shower and it was absolutely stunning. The charcuterie boards were luxurious and beautifully presented, the cakes were delicious and home made (the brownie is just to die for), the soft warm focaccia bread complimented the grazing tableβ¦. It was just all around a beautiful experience and you could tell Kefi had put in an overwhelming amount of effort. The staff ensured everyone had a warm or cold drink, and the afternoon flowed so elegantly as we were looked after so well. One thing that stood out was their catering to dietary requirements, we had celiac, vegan, and pregnant attendees. The owner beautifully segregated all of the boards to suit each diet and labelled everything up whilst still ensuring the presentation was of a high standard! I genuinely recommend hiring Kefi to host your special events as the building is so beautiful and gives such cosy vibes.β
βMassive sandwich, well cooked sausage & egg. Great value. Friendly, chatty staff. Will definitely call in again when working in the area.β
βAlways such nice food & staff, been coming ever since it opened & one of the few places you can get an all day breakfast after 11amβ
βAbsolutely amazing food and great delivery from Clare sheβs such a fun characterβ
βFantastic studio in a peaceful setting. Very clean and even had a welcome basket, fresh eggs and milk in the fridge. Bed was super comfy and the bathroom was very large . They even had a welcome pack for our doggie ,towel, blanket, bed and poop bags just in case . I rate this 14 out of 10 and we will definitely be going back .β
βWent today for the first time with a work colleague and it was amazing. Will definitely be going again. The food was delicious. The staff were super friendly. It was just an all round great place and at a reasonable cost. This is just what the village needs!β
βLovely tea room with friendly mum & daughter working there It was the first time we visited & wont be the last I had the cheese & caramelised onion quiche which was amazing & husband had the famous fish finger sandwich that was also lovely & very tasty We had tea served in single pot with cup on topβ
βFantastic food cooked fresh in front of you. Good quality food and also adaptable for vegetarians. Only issue is that they donβt reduce cost for removing the meat.β
βWe stopped for dinner at The Bull last night with my elderly and terminally ill greyhound Howard. I told the waitress about Howard and asked if they could bring us a plain sausage for him, fully expecting to pay for this. He loved the sausage. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the pub quiz in a very relaxed and welcoming environment. At the end of the night I paid the bill and realised they had not charged me for the sausage. This was a lovely caring touch to end what would be Howardβs last night with us. I would personally like to say thank you to the personnel at The Bull for everything. We will definitely be back.β
βHad our first visit, quickly followed by our second one in September, was great value food.. The breakfast was cracking... Service was great, even let us bring in our dog... Which not many places do. Will be visiting again. Keep up the great work. Chadd and Aliβ
βI found this place by chance as I was visiting an art exhibition there, so stopped for a pint and to sit by the canal which was rather pleasant! Friendly people, seemed to have a good following with some local regulars present. A good spot for a summer evening drink and not to far from town. Easy to park the other side of the canal. Will visit here again and would like to explore the area a bit more!β
βFantastic place to visit for all the family. We parked in the car park and did a lovely 8mjle loop route finishing off in the Longshaw cafe. I recommend you get to the car park early to avoid it being full in peak season.β
βWe had a wonderful time. The food was amazing - I especially recommend the chicken steak as it was incredibly well marinated. The staff were very friendly and gave us great recommendations. Sepi was lovely and offered excellent customer service.β
βBeautiful setting, food was excellent, staff are very professional & welcoming. We was recommended to visit by a friend, so glad we went & we will definitely be bad soon.β
βItalian mixed grill, didn't get the name. Brst piece of pork I've ever tasted, exceptional meal. Great welcoming staff and a cracking atmosphere.β
βThe best farm shop the UK has to offer. Exceptional variety of fresh meat, vegetables, condiments, spices etc. All the staff are friendly and the butchery department know exactly what they are talking about, you can ask them how to cook any of their products and they will give you a in-depth guide on how to do this. The BBQ course which the estate also runs is second to none, if you are a real food lover then look no further.β
βI recently attended a presentation, which was hosted here, by Chris Potts about his experiences on HMS Glamorgan during 1982. It was a great evening at a lovely venue such as The Cross Keys is. We were served an absolutely gorgeous buffet half way through the evening which was well received. The staff were all very polite and efficient and at end of the evening it was my pleasure to meet the lovely owners, Tony and Hayley who went out of their way to make this a special evening. From another ex-Glamorgan, I too served on that great ship back in 1982, thankyou I will remember the evening with pleasure you are fine hosts!β
βWell the 5 star award had to come out, first time in 2025. The scones are fantastic. I had the fruit Scone with butter, and the pot of tea was a good strong brew. They topped up the pot with more hot water, excellent customer service. BIG THANK YOU to George who baked freshly on the premises that morning my fruit Scone. We will be back, Sidney enjoyed his doggee biscuit and bowl of water. Yes dogs welcome.β
βBeen here quite a few times, sometimes just for coffee, other times had pizza and breakfast, (not at the same time!). Each time the food has been absolutely excellent. I'm not really a pizza fan but these are on a par with ones I've had in Italy. My only gripe, and it doesn't just apply to here, many places do it and I've never understood it, and that is (referring to the English breakfast) why do you cook and provide such great food yet ruin it by supplying the most awful, cheap and nasty brown and red sauce. If it's a cost thing, why not just add 50p to each breakfast and get proper HP Sauce and Heinz Tomato Ketchup? Really, really baffles me!!β
βAbsolutely wonderful. Great coffee great food 4 of us went on a Sunday and was so busy but so amazing! Amazing service, great staff, lovely coffee, amazing attention to allergies, loads of specials, incredible atmosphere Absolutely incredible I traveled from London to come here and it was worth it. And dog friendly woohooβ
βCant fault it at all always polite cant do enough for u beutiful productsβ
βGreat lunch stop off joint if you fancy something different. The queues are out the door most of the time. I went for the Chicken and Spicy Potato, and a Falafel and Halloumi large wrap. I also ordered a portion of meat samosas. All the staff are super friendly and despite being busy busy, still took the time out to chat to every customer. The gentleman manning the till was literally flying around allover the shop. Was impressive to watch! The wraps were amazingβ¦. The sauces we added were, Chilli, mint and Tahini. The large option will have you well and truly stuffed. The samosas weren't great if Iβm honest. They were tiny and made of filo pastry, not of proper pastry as shown on their own menu board. If Iβd known they were filo, Iβd not have ordered them. Their great service and expectional wraps made up for the samosa.β
βSuper fast service, friendly staff and the best fish and chips I have had for a long time! Sooo tasty and crispy! We are on holiday in the area and popped in based on reviews and it exceeded my expectations! The whole family loved the fish, chips and curry sauce.β
