“Our handsome cat Teddy needed to visit the vets as he was limping and would not put his paw down. After a consultation with one of the vets, Zoe, it was decided he needed treatment. Zoe was amazing, everything was explained fully including different procedures and prices. Teddy is a very timid cat but she was super fabulous with him. She put both him and us at ease. Cannot recommend Carrick vets enough. Thanks to Zoe for being simply fabulous.”

“Had an amazing experience with this vets! My cat was transferred here for an overnight stay, when I arrived I was heartbroken as I had just been told by our regular vet that our cat could potentially pass away, vets now were so kind to me when I arrived and gave me tissues and even time alone to cuddle my pet. They decided to do surgery on my cat and were open and honest with me the whole time about costs and risks, they even helped me sort out my insurance on my phone as I was a wreck. Thankfully the surgery went okay and they managed to pull something out that was stuck in his belly. Even my regular vet didn’t do this, instead told me he possibly has a rare condition and could pass away, if it wasn’t for this vets I dread to think what would have happened next. I just want to thank the reception staff and vets, and anyone else who was involved as he is now recovering and doing much better and for your kindness, support and sympathy as it did not go unnoticed.”

“Complete lack of compassion from the receptionist. I'd have given 0 stars, but it wasn't an option. I've used this vet practice for years and the staff always used to be lovely, but now you never see the same person twice, and the lovely receptionists have all left. Some of the current receptionists really need more training. January 2025 - update. I've recently needed to use the practice for an emergency. The whole team were fantastic. They gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye to my darling boy. They were caring and compassionate. Special thanks to Jenny, for her very kind words. My trust in the practice has been restored.”

“I can not thank this amazing group of people enough for their care and compassion shown to our dog Frank, from the Vets to the Receptionists, everyone has been incredible. Frank was rushed into Springfield Vets in Rotherham on Bank Holiday Monday despite him not being registered with them. They saw him within the hour, made a plan, and executed it knowledgeably and professionally. They showed patience and compassion despite his behavioural challenges and gave him first class care and kindness. They kept us informed and updated on his progress throughout his stay, even after hours. They adapted their ways of working to make sure he was comfortable, and I knew from the minute he stepped foot into the practice that he and his care were their top priority. Frank is now recovering from his surgery and his back home because these amazing people were able to deal with his problems effectively, efficiently, and with such kindness. Needless to say, Frank is now registered with this amazing veterinary practice and will not be going anywhere else in the future should he need to. Thank you once more for everything you have done for not only Frank but also for us.”

“We are are regular customers at the Dewsbury branch, but when our dog became ill overnight we took her down to the 24hr hospital at Barnsley at 2.00am on a Sunday morning. From the first phone call when we were given a prompt appointment, to discharge a couple of days later, all the staff were wonderful. As Poppy had been admitted due to the severity of her condition, we were kept regularly updated at every stage of her treatment, and we're advised to call at anytime should we feel the need to.( Which we did on a couple of occasions) The staff were lovely and kind and as well as bringing Poppy back to health, they were also so reassuring with us too as it is very worrying and stressful when your pet is unwell. When these things happen, although it's never a factor as most people will do anything for their pet, Money is always at the very back of your mind. This is where Animal Trust Vets score another 5 stars!!! Their out of hours consultation fee is less than one third of our closest vets practice, and overall charges are similarity reasonable. Poppy is getting back to her old self, and we are overwhelmingly appreciative of all the Barnsley staff for their help,care and understanding.”

I have severe mobility issues which means I cannot control my pooch as well as walk with a rollator frame, so due to this the vet comes to me in the car park to my car, which is more comfortable and less stressful for my dog as well so thankyou very much for understanding.
