“An excellent independent coffee shop with healthy food options combined with treats as well, all round better than the processed food found in chain stores. You can buy their coffee beans along with other healthier produce. Outdoor seating set within the courtyards peaceful surroundings. Lots of open parking spaces. A go-to coffee stop if your travelling through Hursley ☕️”
“Fantastic spot for a morning coffee! We visited on a Saturday morning, easy parking outside and dogs are welcome. Great selection of drinks, cakes and breakfast options. Cater for gluten and dairy free - vegan blackcurrant crumble was delicious! They also do gelato which we will be back to try.”
“We were looking for a carvery and was recommended The Forge by a friend. First time here and they did not disappoint! The meats and veg were lovely, generous portions and cooked well. The puddings were astounding, I had the brownie and ice cream, it was unreal! Just look at that presentation, it made me say "wow" when the waitress brought it over. We had 2 drinks 2 meals and 2 puddings all for £37, I think that's an insanely good price! The atmosphere was really nice as well, we had a great night, thanks! 5/5* would 100% recommend!”
“Came for lunch on a week day, wasn't expecting too much but given the car park was nearly full and the pub was quite busy I had better expectations and I wasn't wrong, the team were friendly and helpful. They have a good range of beers and drinks, the wine was of a good standard too. The show stopper was the food, I had venison, my wife the chicken, both dishes were delicious, frankly I could have eaten anything listed on the specials board, we left very happy!”
“Lovely cosy pub. Been here a few times for Sunday lunch and the food is amazing. Very good service. Parking is limited though”
“Such a little gem serving amazing and high quality food and coffee. One day we went we had to wait a little for the food, but the owner stopped by our table to apologize and offered us some drinks on the house. The staff is so lovely and the atmosphere really makes this a must visit. They also sell some amazing products from small vendors”
“We had delicious bubble waffles today, and the staff were happy, on request, to add different combinations to what was on the menu! The food was reasonably priced and the staff friendly! We will be back for another treat at some point! We had an oreo bubble waffle and a peppermint aero bubble waffle.”
“We went to the Little Kitchen Bistro right after it had had a face lift, and they did a great job! The ambiance is amazing, despite it being a very busy small cafe ,and they even took the styling right through to the bathrooms....an area many cafes/restaurants forget. The service was attentive and, we thought, timely given how busy they were. The food was divine and, if you live in Winchester or are just passing through, you would do yourself a favour by calling in here for a drink and a bite. Once you've eaten, you can also get some Froz ice-cream, which is a treat with so many delicious flavours. For our breakfast, we had Smoked salmon, scrambled egg & avocado on sourdough, and the Fulflood Breakfast - hash brown, two slices of bacon, Cumberland sausage ring, home made baked beans, roasted cherry vine tomatoes, two fried eggs & toast (granary, white or sourdough). The salmon meal was delicious, with a generous serving of salmon, perfectly cooked eggs (which tasted free range) and nicely seasoned avocado...none of that bland mash you get elsewhere! The full breakfast was hearty and very flavourful, with the sausage being super tasty, and the homemade baked beans having an unctuous umami flavour profile. Totally crave-worthy!”
“Recently visited Winchester and found this gem of a place which sells the best hot chocolate that I have ever tasted. P.S will be coming back for some more!!! Absolutely delicious, 5 stars”
“Visited for a networking event and absolutely loved it! Super friendly team and loads of things to do, will definitely be back!”
“Lovely garden & smoking area. Inside is a traditional pub & looked like the locals use. Had a good choice of cask ales & the granddaughters loved the hot chocolate. We'll definitely visit again & try the Sunday Roast.”
“Family of 4 went for a Sunday roast after doing one of the Ambling Path walks around the area. Was really lovely, huge roast dinners and my son had macaroni cheese from the kids menu. Out kids are 11 and 8 and the kids meals were plenty big enough and really good value. Staff were friendly and the garden and play area outside are stunning. Good value for money too, we will definitely be back ❤️”
“We decided to pop out for an unscheduled dinner out… Our server was Hannah H and she was superb! Very friendly, helpful and efficient! Our food was lovely and arrived promptly. All in all a fantastic experience, thank you!”

“Simply one of the best restaurants in Winchester. A hidden gem. Amazing food. Great staff and great venue. Plenty of seating. Food cooked in open kitchen. Steaks to rival any London steakhouse. Prices are reasonable but what you would exepct in Winchester. Parking at nearby Chesil Street carpark a short 5 minute walk away. Can't recommend this place anymore.. a must try.”
“Excellent cappuccino and bri and bacon toastie to revive one visiting the museums. Friendly and efficient staff”

“Had an amazing meal here with Masterchef: The Professionals winner from 2023, Tom Hamblet featuring as Head Chef! The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, while the service was top class.”
“Popped in on Halloween night as we were running behind on dinner due to trick or treating with the kids and they left us no dinner. Saw their Facebook post on special Halloween offers so gave it a go. Lovely friendly staff, even the chef popped out in to restaurant area. Sausage and mash was lovely, nice touches and locally sourced sausages. Couldn't stay long and only moved to Swanmore 3 weeks ago so at least we know this place is a food one to go to in future. See you again soon!”
“Came in for a Sunday roast today. The food was absolutely to die for with great friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended”
“We hired the upstairs of Audreys for my sister in laws hen party. Ruth went out of her way to accommodate us, regularly checking we were happy and if there was anything they could do to help. She even went out to Robert Dyas to buy a fan as it was an unseasonably hot day! She catered to our individual dietary requirements and i don’t think there was anything else she could have done to make it more of a success. The food was amazing and plenty of it (she even gave us boxes to take leftovers home). Highly recommend x”
“Excellent traditional pub, roaring fires great range of beers and lagers and the food is good to”
“Stumbled in here caked in mud on a freezing cold day from the South Downs path. We were made to feel so welcome. We had a lovely coffee and tea perched by the fire. We were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave! Definitely the highlight of the South Downs path so far!”

“Here last night for a team meal and had such a great experience. The service was excellent from start to finish — the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which really made the evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, perfect for catching up with everyone. Food and drinks came out promptly, and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a pub with genuine hospitality and a lovely vibe. We’ll be back!”
