“The most amazing cafe has relocated to Longton opposite Iceland! The food is amazing, they have different dishes made every day, normally a type of Tagine with lentil soups, the sides are really flavourful too, I did like the chicken Wrap as the taste is unlike any other wraps I have tasted. Tea is must try too, moroccan mint tea is the best. I recommend everyone try this place”
“Went for my birthday with my girlfriend, we had a wonderful time. The food was beautiful and the place felt really relaxed and good vibes. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable on the food. They were kind enough to give me a shot on the house for my birthday too which was really nice. We will definitely be returning for more date nights here.”
“I attended a private party held at Gurkha Dining. Gurkha Dining provided an exquisite meal for us! Every bite was a delight, full of gorgeous flavours, wonderful aromas, and lots of oohs and ahs of satisfaction followed. It was beautifully presented and the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful. The acoustics were also great, in that even though we were a biggish party, we could converse easily and naturally. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly!”
“Gorgeous new place. You can stay for food and drinks, but also get things to take home. Lovely atmosphere, great food, and knowledgable owners. I’ll be back”
“First time here, and what a place, the welcome was fantastic. Small menu but all fresh and homemade. Empanadas to start, which were amazing, the dipping sauce simple but so tasty and goes so well with the cheese empanadas. Main course was a breakfast, which was black beans, scrambled egg with tomatoes, pulled beef, cheese sticks & a mini arepa. My wife had a pulled beef arepa with cheese, black beans, and plantains, which was so tasty and so out of here normal, but she ate it all and loved it. Dessert was tres leche cake, homemade, and a great sweet hit to finish off what was an amazing lunch. Fresh food and service at its best! We will be back again - thank you”
“Hosts were very warming upon arrival. Check in was fast, room spotless, spacious and had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was tasty, with a choice of cereal, toast and yogurt before the full English! Overall very pleased and would definitely stay again. Thank you!”
“Unbelievably good food, never had a bad meal here. Lovely staff, good location, great coffee. Average prices. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Great place to find. Lovely coffee, if a slightly restricted menu.”
“Fabulous family weekend spent in the converted pub. Our second visit. Its been revamped since we last stayed. Downstairs was great, Really well stocked kitchen. Comfy lounge, great bar area. Fantastic family area. Bedrooms, lack a little luxury. No full length mirror. No hooks for towels anywhere. Bathrooms tiny and unpleasant drain smell due to saniflow I suspect. However perfectly usable and great power shower if not compact in size! Loads of cobwebs and spiders in our room so the corners and windows in room and bathroom had definitely been missed. Bed super comfy and bedlinen lovely. There was only one side table by the bed even though room for two and our TV wouldn't work. We spent limited time in the room so it didn't matter. We would 100% return again.”
“Kanu Poke Imagine eating in a work of art and tasting wonderful, exciting gastronomic delights! Welcome to Kanu Poke in Shrewsbury. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a smiling George who was one of the co owners. On commenting about the on-trend decor, he explained that the artwork was designed and painted by his partner Katie. We were a tad early but it wasn't a problem. Seated upstairs in a great window seat we really felt like we were on holiday. Surrounded by colorful murals we were hoping that the meals were going to be as good as the decor. We weren't disappointed. A pleasant server greeted us with some tasty bites and took our drinks order, when they arrived they were colourful just like the decor. The nibbles had set the tone for what was about to come. Popcorn Chikanu and Teriyaki Tofu as starters followed by the Crispy Tofu Sunflower Satay and The Mexicana. We also had a refreshing pan seared teriyaki vegetable medley. Wow, the flavours were unbelievably tasty and fresh and the service quick. What's more it's Vegan, Gluten and Nut free. It's the perfect place to eat plant based flavoursome food. What a find. Keep up the good work!”
“Visited the Windmill Cafe & Bistro and found a part of Portugal in Newcastle Under Lyme. The traditional cuisine is delicious. Lots of choice from gorgeous fish and meat dishes to a variety of just wonderful tapas bites, soup and loaves of freshly cooked traditional breads. Lovely atmosphere for relaxed eating. Owners genuine foodies and friendly.”
“We’ve just arrived home from a fabulous stay here. We arrived after a long trip up from Plymouth to be met with tea and homemade cake by Mike and a room upgrade. The room was lovely and absolutely spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast next morning was absolutely fantastic and Mike gave us a lift to Nelson’s distillery for the gin school. At the end of the day Mary came and picked us up and we went back to find the log burner in the lounge lit and had a nice few hours resting in the lounge. They had made a reservation for us in the local village pub which was superb. The breakfast this morning was wonderful again and we would highly recommend a stay here. We just need to find more reasons to come up north again! Thanks again for a fantastic weekend.”
“Brilliant club with excellent bar staff and very pleasant bingo caller me and my fiance really enjoyed it”
“I visited Feast at 10am on a Monday morning with my daughter. The cafe felt clean, fresh and bright. The atmosphere was lovely with music quietly playing, local newspapers available to borrow and staff attentive but not overbearing. It felt like the kind of place I could’ve spent a while enjoying my delicious and hot coffee and cherry sourdough toast without feeling uncomfortable at all. We will definitely return!”
“Good local pub with a fantastic atmosphere, dog friendly, fantastic regulars, and always a good pint, clean and welcoming”
“Loverly food and great service will defo be back”
“First time to this eatery, we had a shared platter between myself and the wife and we were not disappointed. For dessert I had the walnut sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, and my wife had the orange sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, with deserts were excellent. We will be calling again very soon.”
“A great pub. Great food and drink. Landlord is a gentleman and his wife a fantastic cook. I always have the gammon washed down with a few beers. Menu is varied, TVs not too intrusive and a good selection of drinks including the local gin. Take plenty of cash as they do not take cards. (they now take cards, still a fantastic pub:) I would travel to visit this pub but am lucky enough to live 2 mins away!”
“Wonderful place, so happy me and my partner decided to try this hidden gem. Loved the food, dumplings we're insanely good and the bao buns were perfection. Thank you so much, we'll be coming back frequently!”
“Wonderful fresh food, the owner was in and was very kind. I’m from Houston and this places compares to places on Hillcroft.”
“I've met the owner of Angkor Wat on play ground one day and he told me about his restaurant and food he cooks. We decided to try it today and it was delicious! Arrived quickly and a decent amount of food still piping hot! We will definitely order again!”
“From the moment we walked in you could feel the love. We were welcomed with a smile into this beautiful restaurant. The antipasti was fabulous, delicious and the gluten free garlic bread was a winner! I then had gluten free pasta Bolognese IT.WAS.DELICIOUS authentic made with love, I could have eaten platefuls. Kev had a diavola pizza and 8/10, I asked what would have made it a 10 and he said a little more fire, it was cooked to perfection! A slightly burned base The staff were genuinely invested in making the experience just great. We couldn't manage a dessert sadly. Would love a Fabrizio's in Banbury thank you”
“Excellent restaurant. Very friendly. The food quality was excellent. Very reasoblyeat priced too. The cheesecakes looked very tempting. But I was so full I couldn't eat one. Everything home cooked. The homemade fruits and berries drink was really nice too.”
“Absolutely the best fish and chips, with homemade tartare sauce! The owner is passionate about I his business, and had time to chat with us while he was freshly preparing our meal. The portion was generous and it was the tastiest we have had for very many years. Easy to access from the canal so great for you if you are boating. I Highly recommend!”
“In an area of a city in need of improvement, the Smithfield Apartments are outstanding in more ways than one. The concept works. It is clear Emma & Steve have put a lot of care into their work on these apartment rooms, with attention to small details that make a great difference to the whole. The booking broker messed up with our reservation but these guys went above and beyond to put things right for our weekend. It was quiet, secure, comfy, and clean. Cheers guys, may you get a lot more well deserved business.”
“Been several times and excellent food every time. The lambs liver was full of flavour and moist, staff are always very friendly. But always gets very busy so booking recommended”
“Lovely cafe with great atmosphere, tasty food and coffee expertly brewed and served. Highly recommend it. Leek is a Quainton and beautiful town as well. A group of 6 of us were accommodated for lunch by friendly staff and really enjoyed it!”
“Stopped for a meal and a quick pint when passing through. Was extremely busy there were enough staff to ensure nobody is left waiting. Staff were all extremely pleasant and welcoming. I really enjoyed the food. A deveng variety. J went with my partner and kids - all are fussy eaters but there was something for everyone. Prices of meals varied between around 15 and 18 quid, steak a bit more. Really good value for money with the quality and size of the meals provided”
“Absolutely delightful eatery, food was scrummy and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Made me have an epiphany on the drive back home so would definitely recommend”
“Lovely place, really cosy and great set up, tiered menu with a 3 dish set price based on what tier the dishes were in. This meant you could have a smaller amount of 3 things to rather than choosing 1 dish - great for the indecisive like me!! All 3 dishes were delicious, and I even took some home so small doesn't mean that small. Will absolutely be back, there's another 30 dishes I need to try!!”
