βWhat an absolutely stunning place. For such a huge old building the 1st thing that struck me was the cleanliness, its immaculate. Sunday lunch was beautiful, with friendly service and our room was outstanding. With the winter offer it was real value for money. Our bed was so comfy.β
βIf you're coeliac and want something more than a baked potato then I highly recommend this cafe, even if you're not they have such fantastic and flavoursome options that you're going to be satisfied. I had a meal a cappuccino and a cake and have to say I really enjoyed my experience. The staff were really nice and very helpful Parking in Shrewsbury is not an issue and it's a short walk away. I will return for moreβ
βGood pizza. I love the starters. The dough pillows were extremely soft and yummy so was the bread and olives. Nice drinks. It would be 10 stars if you had garlic dipβ
βWe came here for our works Christmas meal. There were 30 of us and everyone loved it! The service was spot on and the food was excellent, even for such a big group. Days later people are still talking about what a lovely time they had and how good the food and service were. We'll be back next year!β
βHad an absolutely brilliant lunch here, catered brilliantly for my coeliac mum (they were the best onion rings we have ever eaten). Everything was delicious, portions were spot on and the fact they use local ingredients, local suppliers and make their own sausages is ace. Thoroughly recommend.β
βI visit CafΓ© on the Cop weekly to buy breakfast sandwiches for my office team. And I recently ordered some cupcakes from them for a corporate event. I ordered 24 vanilla cupcakes filled with jam, with a colourful rainbow theme. Safe to say we weren't disappointed, the cupcakes were delish and went down very well with everyone. Wish we'd ordered more! Thank you to the lovely ladies at CafΓ© on the Cop, I will definitely order cakes from you again for our next event.β
βDidn't make a booking. Just turned up and was seated 6 females on hen party. The food was beautiful Staff were great Definitely on my list to visit again They even gave us a celebration cake Thank youβ
βReally nice savoury and sweet crepes. Not too long a wait either. We had the smoked salmon and cream cheese crepe which was lovelyβ
βI had green curry, it was so delicious, I loved it so much. Hoping to go back soon. P.S. I donβt leave reviews regularly, but after seeing many spammy reviews with negative comments and fake photos, I wanted to let people know that itβs a lovely place to eat.β
βA little piece of Greece in Shrewsbury. AMAZING food & vibes. Love the little blackboard menus as the food is made fresh. & always as specials. It was fun chatting to other people dining about what they had & we had or were going for as we all had different boards dotted around. We will definitely be back. (Parking on road or opposite) I had the chicken gyros & my partner had the beef which was like a stew. Iβm already craving another it was so good! We will pop out for takeaway one Wednesday evening for sure. Iβm yet to try the lush looking baklava! It looks like it would be a gorgeous place to visit one summer evening too in the garden.β
βGreat motel style rooms, clean bright and lots of parking, pub in car park, but quiet, lots of places to eat, and massive co op next door, we ate at the Tilley Raven pub, which was a lovely 20 mins walkβ
βWe've eaten twice at ASK in the last couple of months. On each occasion the food has been outstanding. There is a lovely chilled atmosphere but the service has been fast, efficient and charming. Cheruannah is a star! We will definitely be back soon. Great value overallβ
βA beautiful wedding venue with tons of character and charm - the grounds are stunning and Emma and the wedding team are all so welcoming and friendly.β
βWe were on the lookout for a spontaneous dinner and drinks spot and were pleased to stumble upon The House of the Rising Sun. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood outβthey made sure we were accommodated even though we didnβt have a reservation. Since it was a last-minute night out, we ended up seated at the high chairs, which were a bit uncomfortable, especially if youβre dressed up (like in a tight shirt dress). The interior design is impressiveβstylish and atmospheric, though a little too dim for dining. It feels more like a place thatβs tailored for drinks and conversation. One standout feature is the bar with its aquarium-style backsplashβabsolutely eye-catching. We tried the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Katsu. The katsu was excellentβcrispy, flavorful, and definitely best enjoyed with rice. The beef, on the other hand, was slightly chewy and not as tender as expected. For drinks, we had the classic Mojito and their signature cocktail, Land of Smiles. The latter was a highlightβrefreshing with a unique spicy kick that really elevated the experience. Overall, The House of the Rising Sun is a lovely spot for a date night, especially if youβre after a cozy ambiance and creative cocktails. Weβd definitely go backβhopefully with a reservation next time!β
βThe food was impeccable, genuinely donβt have a complaint about the food. The service however was very slow. We waited 35 minutes between starter and main, it wasnβt even busy and then it took them 15 odd minutes to bring the bill over. My only complaint. Food was great.β
βCozy place serving amazing burgers!! Absolutely wonderful meal, plentiful choices and the vibe is extraordinary. Recommend bringing a group of friends or your significant other here. Perfect dining location.β
βhad a lovely time here today, Charles was our server and was polite, efficient and just generally great! We had lovely drinks from the bar and sat in the porch area which had a lovely breeze on a hot day like today, as well as a beautiful view of the river. The food came out fast despite it being quite busy in the restaurant and it was delicious! We look forward to visiting again soon :)β
βVery atmospheric place, very traditional old Shrewsbury, loved the gorgeous leaded windows, the old stone work etc. We were well looked after by Ash who went 'above and beyond', (thank you), lovely chap. He looked after 12 of us extremely well.... I was a bit surprised it was just Ash' on his own. Nothing was too much troubke. Management need to pay him more. I thought the background music was lovely, plus lovely NOT to get the cheesy Christmas music. PS Excellent liaison pre-event with Tamara by email. THANK YOU. (There were12 of us in the party).β
βJust amazing place. I was just reading about the reviews about the place but didn't expect what it was when we went in. The entrance is small but place was big inside and a whole lot of seats. I love the decor and feel inside, just loved eating and hanging around inside. They have a kid's menu and they loved the food they ordered. We took the steak promo and was surprised that the tomahawk tasted that well, it was just tender and tasty and well made. Loved the chips that came with it, crunchy and tasty. My daughter had the fudge and it was really good. Service was good and quick, they were really friendly. Would be going back for sureβ
βLoving the festive pizza. The chicken tenders are great. Why is the new menu not updated on the counter? Team were very friendly.β
βReally delicious food in generous portion. We ordered seafood paradedelle (pasta), marinated sea bream with fried calamari and ragout potatoes, and kidβs chicken with rice. We will definitely come back again! :)β
βThis is the best pizza you'll ever have! The pizza was absolutely delicious. The price was amazing also, what a bargain! Its made fresh there and then and the staff were professional and pleasant. It only took about ten minutes from ordering to walking out the door with the boxes.β
βI was delivering garden goods to the property. Staggered by the timeless ambience and beauty of this fine period house and gardens. Like walking into a Somerset Maugham story. Perfect as a film set, hotel or wedding venue. Friendly owners. Am thinking of booking a weekend here.β
βThe food was superb. By a long way the best shooting ground cafe I've ever visited and not overly priced either. I'd definitely use them for lunch when I'm in the area even ifnim not shooting clays.β
βHave been having treatment at the clinic for a long time which has been very beneficial. Since the clinic has been updated, it's light & fresh, a pleasure to walk into the reception. Look forward to my continued visits & treatment, N Turnbull ( mrs).β
βLove this place. We only come when thereβs a late night at the market because we donβt do lunch. Itβs always a treat. Consistently good. Fantastic dumplings and wings ( if you get them before theyβre sold out)β
βI had my wedding here on the 8th August 2025. Abby and Howard did such a fantastic job. Our ceremony was in the cave at the follies, our reception was at the hotel. Our day was absolutely perfect and all our guests complimented all the work Abby and Howard did. The day ran smoothly and there was no stress or issues. The hotel was spotless and extremely clean. They moved our belongings to the bridal suite, and left us a lovely surprise when we retired to our room at night. The food was absolutely delicious. Food was delivered warm and in a timely manner. Abby even assisted me with setting everything up ready the day before my wedding. I cannot compliment Abby and Howard enough. Abby especially has been wonderful over the last 18 months of wedding planning. She has always been polite, responsive and so incredibly kind and welcoming to my family, guests and ourselves. Our wedding was a very long day and Abby and Howard were absolutely exceptional. We truly cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. I would strongly recommend couples to get married at the follies, it an intimate wedding is preferred. It was beautiful and the views were just breathtaking. We had additional guests for our wedding breakfast, with further guests for our evening reception. All at the Hawkstone Park Hotel. Abby was very accommodating to our needs. Abby, Howard, we will never forget your kindness and hard work. Thank you both so much. We will forever be grateful. Highly recommend!!! x x xβ
βGenuinely some of the nicest food I've had. Great customer service.β
βWe celebrated my daughterβs 18th birthday here and there were 32 of us dining and we had such a lovely time. The staff were brilliant to deal with while we were planning and collating everyoneβs meal orders and decorated the room for us after I had left balloons there earlier in the day. That was a lovely surprise. The food was delicious and arrived without any problems. We felt looked after and the whole evening was fabulous.β
βBeautiful holiday park, staff great, clean and well spaced out between the lodges in the quieter part of the park, lodge was stunning, so spacious, everything you could need, fantastic, been a few times nowβ
