βOn Thursday there is a gaming night in the lounge - 18.30 till c. 23.00 (ttrpg mainly and possibly some boardgames). Friendly staff and decent prices.β
βAbsolutely LOVE this place. Ive been coming here once a month for the last few months to meet old sxhool friends. We always have a laugh at the pool table where we challenge each other. It could do with another pool table aa it is popular. Lots of other games etc to play too. The music and atmosphere is so good in there. We haven't eaten here so cannot comment on that.β
βA couple of months ago I came here for a glass of wine and to wait for a friend. I was served by Luke McDonnell and he was very pleasant and warm. I enjoyed my glass of rose while reading my kindle and waiting for my friend. Will definitely come back again.β
βWe booked in advance for a work staff dinner. I have to say the staff were absolutely lovely and charming. Drinks came first, the mocktails are to die for! Starters were so yummy and the mains did not disappoint. We even had dessert and I would give each course 10/10. The staff told us they donβt use any ready made, only fresh and from scratch food including even the spices/masalas. Very authentic food but with a very mild spice level so it can cater for everyone. I highly recommend you visit this establishment if you are in the area and fancy a βcurryβ.β
βNice food and atmosphere as always. This time some of the food was slightly burnt from the grill but it was really busy in the pub and also my previous experience was always good so I can accept this little issue as an accident due to the lot of customers. Highly recommended!β
βVery friendly family run business in historic building . Nice and cosy inside with fireplace on. Appreciated by locals and park visitorsβ
βBeen here twice now and both times had a lovely experience. The food is lovely and the staff are too. The lunch menu is great value for money where you get a main a side and a refillable drink for Β£10! I definitely recommend the beef burger itβs lively. Would definitely come back again.β
βGreat staff Great prices friendly customers always someone to chat to or play a game of pool or dartsβ
βWe love the Redolence, if you want proper authentic Indian food that is all made from scratch then this is your place. They are vegan friendly too. The staff are wonderfully helpful, friendly and polite. We can't recommend it enough.β
βGreat local pub, had a few meals here with the kids home made and can't fault it. Bar staff and landlord are amazing, so friendly and welcoming just what you need in a local pub.β
βWe did Tamworth Castle Grounds parkrun on Saturday. This lovely little cafe is just by the start/finish which had a roaring open fire burning inside. Unfortunately, it is quite small so we had to sit outside to enjoy our breakfast as not enough seating for our sizable group (but we did keep popping into to stand by the fire and warm out hands and smell the wood smoke!) Great value breakfast, and loved that you could have mushrooms on your bacaon or sausage sandwich, often not an option. And the small Full English included black pudding and coffe at just Β£6 Definitely recommended! (of course we also made a film of our day, you can watch that here: https://youtu.be/QMBA4nHzhkU )β
βIn the franchise Mrs Kyndley is just a woman who lives next to Thomas' branchline, She dosen't own a tea room, however I guess she has a refreshment stall in the Great Race (a film that came out a while after)β
βNepalese food, with some Indian staples. Beautifully cooked food, with a good portion size at a decent price. Staff were welcoming and the food was served promptly. A good choice of traditional Nepalese dishes to choose from which all sound lovely Recommend and will be going back to try moreβ
βAlthough known previous owners and current this was my first time visiting here. The atmosphere of this place was pleasant and the customers and staff were all polite and well mannered. The food here was beautiful possibly one of the most delicious meals out I have had in awhile. I would defiantly return again.β
βService was awesome, our server T was so friendly and attentive with all our needs. Food was delicious, well portioned and seasoned so no complaints at all. Thank you so much Grillz Team :Dβ
βMe and my partner come for Sunday lunch, and we were both pleasantly surprised! They had sold out of the roast beef (due to being so busy) so I opted for the roast turkey which melted in my mouth. Great portion, a lot of effort put into these roast dinners and you could tell as the Yorkshire puddings were home made delicious gravy. Well done to all the staff at the Golden Hind. There was a great atmosphere with music on and lots of happy guests. I will definitely be returning, we left yesterday with full bellies and feeling very happy with our afternoon outβ
βVisited twice last week as we were at an NEC show. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Good prices.β
βFirst time visit on a Saturday. We booked, as table was for 7. Extensive menu. All the favourites. The 'signature dishes' were all unique as far as I could tell, and from this I chose Chicken Chemali. Which had a sort of soy, honey, sticky vibe, and utterly delicious. Signature dish meant it came with matched rice and a triangular plate. Standard dishes had circular plates.... Nice touches included....trolley bringing food to our table included a gas hob to ensure perfect temp for the dishes......waiters asked how much of your dish you wanted to start with on your plate, and measured it out for you.....free shots at the end with a choice of sweets/after eights/aniseed. Wonderful service and a pleasant setting right near the huge free car park of Olton Station. Update 14/1/23. Another Very Successful takeaway. Now our go-to Indian Restaurant Update 19/9/23. Another excellent meal in the restaurant. All others are now compared to this one, as the benchmark. Look out for special offer when you dine in off peak. Update 5/2/24. Still great. I think the plates are a bit bigger? We were all stuffed. Saturday evening and it was packed, but still great food. Update 22/9/24. They've updated their menu. All the old favorites of mine, and some new ones to try over coming visits...... All with dish names I don't think I've seen on a menu before. Check it out! Just remember to book on Saturdays. PS, there's currently 25% off food when you dine in Sunday to Thursdayβ
βDropped in today, didn't book ahead just turned up. Was lovely to be greeted just inside the door by staff with a happy smiling face. The place was spotlessly clean and the atmosphere welcoming. Food choice is wide ranging something to suit everyone. There were three of us and we shared the ultimate combo as a starter, we ordered rump steak with chips, smothered steak sizzler and the burger sizzler combo. The food was delicious and piping hot. and the beef dripping gravy so good. We were served by two lovely girls, Tianna and Aimee, they engaged with us and made our visit more enjoyable. Also Julie a great cheeky girl, all made us feel so welcome and their bubbly personalities gave an added bonus to our visit. Service was friendly, quick and efficient, if we had to make a complaint, it would be that the food portions were so good we just couldn't eat it all ;)β
βWe come once a month for a family get together and we love it. Food is always really good and Natalie is amazing. Always has a laugh and a joke with us and nothing is too much trouble. New menu is very good and love the fact itβs div friendly so we can bring our furry friends. Well done guys, well done Natalie, xβ
βLibby was very warm, attentive and very polite. The breakfast was very enjoyable. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, some people were wearing their pyjamas and doing their make up. The music was at the right level where we could have a conversation without being drowned out. The pub was clean, tidy and very well set up. The manager came in after to help shuffle some chairs which was nice to see, she even made the effort to have a lovely chat. Overall a very good experience and I look forward in visiting again. The staff are an asset to the pub.β
βLovely people comfortable bed couldn't do enough for me. Will book againβ
βReally great food and very fresh. Price was also very good for the quality of the food. Check out the special at Β£10.95.β
βThree other people and the landlord. As a stranger I was welcomed and the banter was good. Clean toilets, always a good indicator.β
βThe guys are really helpful, friendly and hardworking. Veg samosas are excellent. We've found it hard to enjoy other's now. Always recommending them. We'll be back soon.β
βLovely place with great atmosphere. Expensive drinks. Great staff.β
βHad a really enjoyable evening at the Oak Tree, took part in the quiz night. The staff - Stacey, Alisha, Emily and Paige - were really helpful and friendly. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be making regular visits here.β
βPerfect from start to finish. It was an enjoyable 2 nights. The location is great as you are only about 10 minutes' walking from the coach station and 15 minutes to train station. Free car park for guests. I will be definitely back soon.β
βHad the most beautiful lunch today, all of the food was delicious and fresh. Vegetarian burger, mac and cheese and breaded mushrooms. Best pub meal ive had in absolutely ages! Service was 10/10 too. Completely faultless! Go Carol and Jordan!β
