“A wonderful place for a gongoozla. I am not good with heights nor with water, so you would think this is not the place for me, but it is incredible. There is a cafe at the top and a water point for the boaters. At the top there is a swing bridge to be operated before you can access the rise. CRT were on hand to open the bridge and then help a boater through. The water really shoots out under some pressure as the photo hopefully shows. It was a pretty dull wintry day, but the experience is excellent. A little further down is the Bingley 3 staircase locks which we will visit on our next time.”
“A really good, well equipped pool. We enjoyed the rapids and the waves but they have a free water slides that can be enjoyed too, a whirlpool and some outdoor sections. It can get busy at peak times so I’d recommend going late afternoon/evening.”
“Lovely place to go for a walk. You can walk to the canal and then cross to the other side of the canal to walk back to Hirst locks or Saltaire. Nice and quiet early on.”
“Fun Saturday morning spent. Looking at hundreds of Hockneys. Plenty of variety and culture. Free entry and the staff were helpful.”
“We were visiting Huddersfield and decided to stop here for dinner. We were greeted by a warm and friendly lady. I have some intolerances and she suggested what to order. She was lovely with the children too. The food was yummy and the roti was the best I've ever had, so soft and fluffy!. The prices were decent too. I'd definitely recommend. It was a lovely end to our day in Huddersfield. If we're around the area again, I wouldn't hesitate coming again!. Thank you for the delicious meal and wonderful customer service.”
“I thought there is a waterfall not far from where I live it's only 6 minutes by car to get to the area where the waterfall is, I have only been promising myself to go for four years and today I set out to go find it. The waterfall is not far from Harden village it's a good ramble to get there. It's called Gout Stock Waterfall and if you've never been then your really missing something special.”
“Absolutely fantastic pub. Owners Sue and Joe are a breath of fresh air couldn’t ask for nicer people. All workers are very polite and Lisa is top notch , it’s always a barrel of laughs in there and I couldn’t think of anywhere better to go on a weekend for a good pint of John smiths. Ricky”
“Another lovely night at Dynasty. Food and service fantastic, all of the staff cannot do enough for you. A really relaxing and authentic atmosphere. 5 star Dynasty keep the good work”
“Nice food and atmosphere. A hidden gem!”
“Great dryish walk on a wet day. Flat surface and even path, suitable for all. Lots of shrubs, little ponds and interesting wildlife on the small lake here. There can be some big puddles and runoff. If you’re lucky you might see a plane takeoff or landing. 0.8 miles per lap and free car parking.”
“A great reserve to walk round, the volunteers are doing a grand job tidying, repairing, planting. Check when the cafe is open and what's on, there's reserve walks and I've been to the otter talk very interesting. Dogs welcome on lead (have recall) as it's a nature reserve and trying to bring back and welcome the wildlife, poo bin there but gets full. Free car park other side of the canal”
“Brilliant play area with a large selection of apparatus for the kids. Some new things have been installed since the last time I went, and the new swings are fantastic! There's a fabulous walk around the lake and in the woods, and if you're interested, there's also a golf course and archery!”
“My walk to the waterfall took about an hour. I walked slowly, trying to capture every beautiful corner with my camera. I was lucky with the warm and sunny weather — everything felt alive with summer. On the way, I was greeted by sheep, and photographing them was a joy of its own. If you’re looking for a place for a photoshoot, go to the waterfall — you’ll definitely take unforgettable shots. And if you simply want to escape the hustle and bustle, this is also the perfect spot to recharge.”
“Another one of Bradfords hidden treasures. This is such a beautiful place for a walk or run. It's not a place where I would take my kids for safety reasons. The dam walls are level with the trail or footpath, and there are no handrails around, so they could trip and fall in easily if left to run freely. It's more a place to escape for a while. Take in the fresh air and listen to the soothing sounds of the birds in the trees and the ducks in the water. The trail through the woods is a bit boggy in areas but good for the most part. It gets very narrow but provides fantastic views over looking the reservoir. Free parking is available at the entrance on Howarth Road. It really a magical place.”
“Great food. Even got a phone call to check I didn't have any allergies. Delivery was quick and the gentleman was very friendly.”

“I love this place. Great clean fresh and tasty food. Their kebabs are very tasty and their fresh naan is always great as well. You must visit if you're ever nearby.”
“Really good space for our 2 rescue dogs to run and explore. They had lots of fun digging, snuffling and running around. I would definitely recommend and we'll be rebooking ☺️”
“Excellent location, very nice venue Room was very clean and comfortable. Extremely warm but easily controllable, great accommodation Breakfast was atrocious, poor lady working was on her own and clearly needed help. Almost nothing available from the continental breakfast and the cooked breakfast was so poor I couldn't eat it. Real shame as the rest of the stay was very nice.”
“Brilliant day, my Grandson loved the sandpit and the pizza in the restaurant was good, not frozen cardboard type that you get in a lot of kids meals. I guess it's quite expensive, but as we live locally we will use the unlimited additional twelve months access”
“Lovely village, great pool with friendly staff. Thank you.”
“First time visiting Ponderosa Zoo and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Nicely priced and some great animals aswell. We ate at the Lakeside Restaurant and the food was lovely. Some nice play areas but my daughter was too big too play on them.”
“This small family run restaurant was a delight. Only small point letting down 5 star food rate, pickle tray. For me missing, imagination and fire found in many pickle tray. After that all was great. Starter packed with spices. Main garlic butter Karhai with fish, swimming in flavour, heat and spice, a delight. Will return.”
“Best dish house in Shipley. Great service. Food was clean and very well served. The taste was amazing. Very good value for money. Don’t be deceived if quiet. Try this place out. The lamb on the bone is so good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
“First time we've been here, really impressed, very friendly, Road House Burger and Fries was really good, and the Tex Mex was excellent and the milkshake also hit the mark, generous portions and great prices will be going back soon”

“A safe open space with plenty of cooling water on hot days. The backdrop of classic buildings is a real bonus”
