“The Sussex Grocer in Hassocks is a great little shop — always well stocked with a good mix of essentials and local produce. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for the quality. Staff are friendly and it’s just a really handy place to have in the village.”

“I’ve been coming to this Taj for many many years buying lots of exotic fruits and veg. I also use the London Road branch and always find the quality to be top draw. Today I met the owner and have to say what an absolute gent. He went out of his way to ask me if I needed any help getting my shopping in my car (I had a trolley full of onion bags) and also asked if there was enough of what I required. I also watched him interact with several other customers and they all seemed very fond of him. Great business and superb management!”

“It's a Lidl. The service is good, does what it needs to do. Yes there is a barrier to stop shoplifters from buggering off. All you need to do is scan your barcode on the receipt once items are purchased or make yourself known to the self service Clark. I never usually have wait very long when I come here even on busy days.”

“Visited Holmbush store on 31st October mid afternoon to purchase a pair of trousers for elderly mother (101 years old!). Found pair she liked but too small so went to desk to order larger pair. We were served by very helpful assistant Jane H who told us there were no size 12s available in that store. But Jane did a search and came up with availability in Worthing (one pair left although slightly longer length) so we headed off to get there before closing. We were in luck and able to buy them and mum was very pleased. Thank you to Jane for her extra care and attention to our plight which is not often found these days!”

“I love this shop. I used to go to Yum Yums in the lanes for my ketchip manis, a culinary necessity in my house! And I can't find it in Maidstone. But it doesn't open early enough for school drop off.. Sorry, guys! I stumbled upon Yun Feng Foods last month and was pleasantly surprised by the range, considering the size of the shop. The cost of everything has gone up everywhere but I still find the prices reasonable for the quality of the goods. Their range of frozen dim sum dumplings and steamed Buns is awesome. And whilst they may not have as many products as the larger stores, I always find everything I want, and more! But please don't phone asking questions in English and then call them rude for not being able to respond. This is an Asian store with Asian products and staff. The young lady is always very helpful and friendly. Have a wander in, I'm sure you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.”

“I was out on a lovely day and I wanted a snack. And then it hit me the best place on Earth TESCO, and I just knew I had to come here. It was like waking up on Christmas morning, such an eye opener really of how lovely the staff are. Just so kind to me and my 8 kids. Tooo bad I can't bring my 5 cats inside but that's ok.”

“This store is in a great location remember before this store and surrounding flats were even built. We have used the Car Park underneath twice with My Parking App....to leave the car overnight when staying at The Grand which works out so much cheaper than the NCP car parks in central Brighton and you feel the car is more secure. Great sized store.”

The store is well stocked with Co-op products and so I go all the way to Shoreham by-Sea to get my main shop because where I live in Brighton the stores don't stock everything on my shopping list. Also the stock of many items in the Co-op shops in Brighton are frequently low or missing, especially staples like fresh bakery, fruit and veg and goats milk (I'm intolerant of cows milk). Additionally, I have to buy a parking voucher from the newsagent in Blatchington Road, Hove to park near the Hove Co-op (the closest store to my home with better stock) as the Co-op doesn't sell them; even though they have a paypoint facility at their customer service desk. The Ham Road store in Shoreham by-Sea has a free car park so the extra petrol I use to get there is cheaper than pay and display charges in Brighton and Hove.”

“Went shopping here for my Christmas food on 23rd December at lunchtime ! Yes it was busy but not manic. Had everything that I wanted. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Shelves were well stocked. Bread, as usual, was delicious . The beef joint was melt in the mouth fantastic.”
