“It is so great to have this classic pub but vegan! Everything we hade were delicious. We tried the Sunday roast (on Sunday) and the fish and chips and hot sauce cauliflower (on Friday). Notice every day they have a different menu (depends on the day). They have this great variety of beers, and the atmosphere is super fun. Can't recommend enough.”

“A lovely friendly gastro pub with great staff and fabulous food. Our lunch consisted of starters; Devon crab on toast and Padron peppers (both delicious); my flat iron steak was so tender, tasty and perfectly cooked and the beer battered haddock & chips was delicious too! We sat outside on comfortable bench seating (cushions provided). Good choice of wines by the glass too. The inside dining and bar areas looked inviting too. We will definitely return.”

    The Plough Inn at Ford

    ★★★★☆ 4.6
    Open

“Fantastic service, good food and a broad menu. We stopped at this pub on a long walk on Sunday, without a booking. It was very busy so we weren't expecting to get in, but the team spent some time working out comings and goings and managed to find a way to fit us in if we were happy to wait for 15 mins (which was great for us). We had Sunday roasts but the menu included other options, including some game-based options. The food turned up quickly and was good, and the portions were large. The thing that stood out most, though, was the service, which continued to be thoughtful, friendly and efficient throughout.”

“We brought friends here on Friday 26th August. We often go out as a foursome so have visited a wide variety of eateries. The food was excellent. Lots of variety of tastes & textures, generous portions & at the right temperature. We sat at the back of the restaurant which is a lovely area with good music & plenty of greenery. It was no problem to have the open roof moved across once the sun went in. The young team is very attentive, polite & sociable & make you feel special. My husband & I often pop in for coffee or lunch so it was a delight to share with friends. Thank you Sami, Morgan & Ella!”

“This is one special place with very very good coffee and the decaf is so rich enough to make you ask if they’ve got your order right. It’s cosy and quite small but packs quite a few people in and I’ve heard when its really busy people have to stand on each others shoulders to make room and pass the coffee up and down which sounds like fun … Of course that wouldn’t be necessary if it were bigger but then it wouldn’t be as cosy would it now… The staff, lovely people and occasionally there’s a stand up comedian who’s doing an internship there. Sausage rolls will be warmed on request and they’re so big you’ll have to take an end each to lift one on to your plate .. Love the place… when I grow up I want to work there”

Got ciders and our first ever fish and chips (in England). Delicious! Delicious, and no judgment from staff for sharing (we're light eaters). Great pub near the Roman baths, definitely recommend.”

“Stumbled across this traditional, proper, English pub and what a refreshing change to a more modern boozer. A wide range of spirits, especially the rum selection. The barman was of a rare breed, where he looked after his customer's needs and was an ear for anyone with troubles or tales to tell. The owner/landlord was a character you rarely see nowadays. Buy him a shot and make a friend. The music, classic British. The decor classic British. With pictures of spitfires, British forces and Nigel Farage what more can you ask for. Oh, and beer is great. Try the black rat for cider lovers. Hope to stumble across it again soon. Cheers for the beers.”
