“We had lunch on a Friday. The staff were friendly and the service was good. The Welsh rarebit burger was probably one of the best burgers i've had. 2 very tasty patties. The lasagne was very tasty as well.”

“Just wanted to say what a fantastic place !!! We were staying at Cheddar Woods for the weekend and popped out to meet friends to raise a glass for my daughters 21st ... we all like cider so seemed like it was the place for us :) ..... Really cosy and quirky place .... warm fire ... the lushest dogs .... Staff & regular's all made us feel welcome and our pet dog Eve loved it too .... Had fab pizza's and burgers - timed it wrong as had to leave just before live music started! Will definitely return and 100% recommend ... wish we had a local like this .... Thank you for your hospitality :)”

“Just amazingly perfect! The tandoori mixed grill was superior and fresh, tasty and high quality! The Lamb passanda and peshwari naan were the best I’d had anywhere and dessert was superb too. From the excellent customer service, warm welcome from the two owners and the delicious food, I can’t recommend it enough. Home made food, crafted with care and attention. “A lovely friendly gastro pub with great staff and fabulous food. Our lunch consisted of starters; Devon crab on toast and Padron peppers (both delicious); my flat iron steak was so tender, tasty and perfectly cooked and the beer battered haddock & chips was delicious too! We sat outside on comfortable bench seating (cushions provided). Good choice of wines by the glass too. The inside dining and bar areas looked inviting too. We will definitely return.”

“Hadn’t booked a table but we’re able to get one. Service was quick and efficient. Food was tasty, £16.95 for a beef Sunday roast and £11.95 for fish of the day. Fish was breaded plaice, but that was a bit stodgy.”

“It is so great to have this classic pub but vegan! Everything we hade were delicious. We tried the Sunday roast (on Sunday) and the fish and chips and hot sauce cauliflower (on Friday). Notice every day they have a different menu (depends on the day). They have this great variety of beers, and the atmosphere is super fun. Can't recommend enough.”

“The port of call is a home away from home, a beautiful traditional pub at the top of whiteladies road near the Downs. Ross, Russ, and Josh always serve with a smile and a laugh. A great local, and a great pub just to pop in with visitors ⭐️ Nice mix of drinks, with some great real ales along the all important mix of local ciders. The Port does an amazing Sunday roast with all the veg and trimmings you could want - a great cauli-cheese and roasted root vegetables so good that I’ve just ordered them as a snack before. We love the regular pub quiz on Sundays at 8pm, which is just the right mix of challenging and fun! There's a great beer garden for the summer months.”

“Ate Sunday lunch here today. Absolutely lovely. The lamb was superb and the nut roast was one of the best I’ve tasted. The veg were cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was delicious. Very good service and the live piano was delightful. I cannot fault anything. Will definitely eat here again.”

“We tried the Langton for the first time and it definitely won’t be the last. The staff were so incredibly nice and welcoming to us and our 2 corgis. All the staff gave the dogs so much love. We loved sitting in the back beer garden, the dogs loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the sun. We also saw that they had a darts board, something we are excited to use in the future! We tried their Friday special, 3 for £15 light bites and were blown away by how big the serving sizes were, it was plenty of food for 2. We tried the wings, jalapeño bites and cheese fries, so delicious! We will be back to try the halloumi sticks and pigs in a blanket in the future. Thanks for the great evening!”

“Another great find in Bristol. We had a warm welcome and spoke with Amir, the owner, who was very passionate about the restaurant and its menu. We ordered the Tawa Platter which was for 2-3 people but could easily have fed four so we took quite a bit home. Divine lamb chops, delicious spicy kebabs, succulent chicken tikka and loads more, not to mention the large family naan. On our list for a revisit!”

“Old world pub with an excellent selection of cider and beer. Snacks are good also with some decent lunch offerings. Garden is quiet and the pub is fantastic to look around.”

“Fantastic Sunday roast - the beef was great, great portions and excellent value (£18.50 was an absolute steal compared to many other places in Bristol!) - service was friendly, and the food, whilst it did take a while to come, was worth the wait. Make sure you book in advance to get a table!”

“Excellent meal with great service. Came away very happy! Husband and I had 12oz sirloins and daughter had the 6oz kids sirloin. Absolutely delicious. We had mac and cheese, triple cooked chips, onion rings, creamed spinach and sweet potato fries as sides. All genuinely brilliant. Biscoff cheesecake for pudding was very tasty and not too heavy. Excellent portion sizes for price. Pleasant service. BBF on cask and a few keg options. Wish we lived nearer!”

“The way food should be!! Just such an amazing lunch on our second and equally amazing visit. The menu was varied and interesting and really shows what plant based cuisine can be. The sourdough ice cream was interesting, not my personal preference, but really enjoyed getting to try it. Thanks all Also the bread is the best around!!”
