“One of the most charming pubs in Bath. Their signature pies are top notch every single time, but so are their sausages and all the other wonderful things they pile onto your plate! Their gravy flavours compliment the pies ans sausages so well. They also sale local ales and ciders. Staff are friendly and talkative. Unfortunately you can't book but this place is so worth the visit because the food and atmosphere are fantastic!”
“What a brilliant cocktail bar. Hidden away underground alongside the streets of Bath, this place is simply outstanding in terms of atmosphere and feel. The drinks also fit with this quality, and are brilliant. The service was also amazing, and a special shout out to Fergus who was brilliant to us the whole night. Would definitely recommend a visit here.”
“Both bar and food are amazing! Nick at the bar makes such amazing cocktails and love his recommendations on shots! The burritos are delicious, but they do shut early so make sure you’re there by 8/8.15 latest!”
“Exquisite “fine dining” experience beyond what you might expect from a typical pub!!! Great selection of beer on draft! We ate under huge canopy outside & inside the pub was full of olde world charm & character!! Friendly staff!! Will return again when in the area!”
“LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The town is like something out of a fairy tale. This little restaurant/pub was very accommodating and the food was delicious. They even had a great little dessert I could eat that was low sugar, dairy and gluten free. I think it was called "sticky toffee pudding."”
“On my way to Celtic manor I stopped in for breakfast. They have and excellent selection of breakfast and brunch items. It was delicious and the service and atmosphere was pleasant. I would believe there pizzas are great too based on the wood fire oven. Definitely would recommend”
“A fantastic find after a long day in Westbury! We were so relieved they were open late with a long drive still ahead of us. The food was delicious, offered excellent value, and the varied menu had something for everyone. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect way to end our day. Highly recommended. It's worth noting there is a car park, though it can fill up at peak times due to the restaurant's popularity.”
“Really good pizza, the shop now takes card payment, so we'll be visiting a lot more :) They also have great food staters, garlic bread, olives, etc The shop also sells earrings, picture frames, from local creators as well as vegetables and eggs, also fresh and local. Lots of outdoor seating as well as a few indoor tables. Well worth a visit if you're passing on the A38 Still a great place and even more desserts too! Still as awesome as ever!”
“Stayed here for three nights before moving closer to Oxford. Wished we had spent all of our time in this beautiful country establishment. The owners and their wonderful team were beyond wonderful. Service was impeccable and the rooms were beautifully presented and comfortable. Meals were absolutely delicious and the pub was everything you expect of an ancient country inn, fireplace, fabulous bar, anda warm and friendly atmosphere. This place was the stand out highlight of our UK holiday”
“The best meal out in a very long time. 6 of us booked Saturday lunch, all of us where blown away but the perfectly cooked food, gorgeous setting and wonderful staff. Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended… we will be back! Thank you so much to the Royal Oak team!”
““From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always ready with a smile. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor — you can tell the chefs put real passion into their cooking. My personal highlight was the [Linguine pasta], which was cooked to perfection. Prices are fair for the quality, and I left already planning my next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality.””
“Just been to this wonderful pub and had the best meal. So much to choose from. The portions were huge and the owners so friendly they really made our evening. Would strongly recommend.”
“Had a lovely meal here. Service was very friendly and efficient. Good quality food and very reasonable. Excellent chips!”
“I went for a Christmas meal with friends. It's a lovely old pub, with a number of dining rooms. It's a bit out of the way, but worth it when you get there. I had a very tasty nut roast while others had a traditional turkey meal. The food was good and there was plenty of it.”
“Had an amazing dinner at Druid’s Arms with friends; the food was absolutely delicious and the staff made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend!”
“Nice small pub with good beer choice, good music, friendly people and plenty of games to play”
“Lovely little pub amazing selection of beers , friendly living room vibes ...”
“Top Tier Pub One of the best in BS5/BS2 Great staff, great vibes... Skittles alley, pool table, darts board... Can't go wrong”
“Great Bristol pub, nearby the Bell and the Hare on the Hill. Out of the three, this pub probably offers the best beer selection (but each pub is fantastic in its own right - crawl all three) and the staff and locals are lovely.”
“There are lots of good walks near Hinton Charterhouse. I would recommend that, like us, you make the Stag your pit-stop of choice. The welcome is always warm and the food is really excellent. My friend had a Cajun Chicken and prawn special, which he said was delicious. Because I know how good it is, I went for ‘Old faithful’ - ham, 2 eggs and chips. It was to-die-for, as always. Home cooked ham packed with flavour, tender as you like, thick carved and plentiful; oh, and runny eggs! It’s a sensational lunch. It won’t be long before we find ourselves back here, I’m sure. UPDATE - We just visited for a Sunday roast. I can honestly say it’s probably the best pub roast I’ve ever had. You certainly won’t leave hungry. Highly recommended!”
“Absolutely superb all round. The pub is full of character and warmth, with a beautiful garden and amazing countryside views. The menu is simple, refined, and consistently excellent. And Felix was outstanding. Friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive … truly memorable service in a wonderful setting.”
“What a great old worldly pub. A few small rooms all with wood panelling and glass partitions. Old type fireplaces. Wooden floors throughout. Tap beers and real ales available. It's really like going back in time, brilliant. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Old type bench seats. Beer was good. Great visit.”
“Lovely cakes Inc vegan and gf. Breakfasts are quality and decent size. We had the house breakfast, avo toast and sweetcorn fritters. All delicious. Very very fast service. Staff are very friendly. Definitely worth the price. There is a shop with nice gifts and a gallery. Highly recommend.”
“My partner and I booked a stay here in September 2024 for his birthday weekend. From the initial phone call I was impressed with how accommodating they were. I have various dietary needs and usually going away anywhere is quite stressful, however the staff here put my mind at ease immediately. They had multiple options for me to eat at breakfast and the evening meal we had was delicious! In hindsight we should have eaten here on both evenings as the food is amazing! The room was lovely, warm, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel location is perfect for walking through Tintern itself and equally for a short drive to Chepstow. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Grace was very attentive, always checking in to reassure me about my food choices and to check that we were happy with everything. We would love to stay here again, perhaps with more time to explore further afield this time!”
“Great atmosphere in a proper village pub. Sunday lunch memorable and one of the cheapest invthe area.”
“Came in only for coffee. Was lovely and chilled place to sit down. Lots of plants! The coffee was delicious. Had a selection of cakes !”
“Delicious food & coffee, not exactly the best place for a nice sit-down meal but really liked the spot and would happily come back. I'm a bit of a coffee snob but loved the oat flat white, and the takeaway batch was also excellent”
“Great little place, don't know how I only just started going here. Really nice staffing the pop up food was nice. Pints very reasonable price and very good.”
“I love this traditional British pub, just visited from the campsite opposite. A very warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Lovely selection of ciders and beers. I wished I lived opposite”
“We had a great time at Snobby's for a birthday celebration with 15 people. The owner Nick looked after us all night, alongside his friendly and helpful team. The space is tastefully styled yet relaxed and the food is just incredible! We had a selection of the whole menu which came on small sharing plates. The portions were generous and my personal highlights were the braised lamb and cured fish. Make sure you book before visiting to avoid disappointment!”
