“Had a lovely couple of Ghibli (we’re Ghibli fans) themed drinks. I had an Arrietty (reminded me of my own garden in summer and the cup and saucer it was served in gave it a dainty feel) and my partner had a No Face cocktail served in a clay pot which caused a really interesting discussion about depth of flavour / character. Service was attentive and very welcoming.”

“Review by Benjamin Chappell, age 9 (wannabe food reviewer). I came to the Falcon Steakhouse with my mum. I ordered the Falcons Famous Dipster Steak Sandwich and the death by chocolate cheese cake, it was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and was soooo tasty. The cheesecake was incredible, my mum had to say “Benjamin stop licking the plate”. We couldn’t fault a single thing!! Thank you.”

“We had a truly exceptional dining exeperience. It was our anniversary dinner, my husband requested we have a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival which was very kindly prepared for us. The occassion was acknowledged throughout our meal, with a “happy anniversary” message on our dessert plates. Such a lovely touch. Staff were incredibly friendly and knowleadgeble, we felt very well looked after. We started with the selection of breads with soft basil butter. It was a great variety of fresh bread and breadsticks. We both had the scallops for our starters, a nice mix of well balanced flavours and excellent nduja! The mains (duck, venison) were perfectly cooked medium rare with lovely sauces and flavours. The only item we would skip next were the confit potatoes, which unfortunately were undercooked and did not have much of a taste to them. Our desserts were a tiramisu and the pistachio eggnog mousse, both perfectly light and not too sweet but well balanced. We finished our meal with limoncello (as you do). Everything was top quality and full of flavour. The wine selection was interesting, great variety especially on the bottled special wine list, with very reasonable prices. We went with their recommendations for each meal and the pairings they suggested were great. The restaurant is on the smaller side and the table we were seated was on the smaller end, however this did not take away from the enjoyment. We could tell how serious they take their food, service and customers. The restaurant is expensive but you get what you pay for. We can’t wait to be back.”

“Absolute gem of a micro-pub in the least expected place. We regularly visit as either a family, with friends or on our own and are never short of a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. The beer choices are fantastic and rotate regularly, and there is a tasty lager permanently on for those who prefer, so everyone is catered for. Dogs and children (until 8pm) are welcome, there’s a great selection of board games and snacks too. Would highly recommend a visit!”

“Love going to Bristol Rovers to support my team (Exeter City) with my son. Not just because we usually come away with 3 points :) but also because we get to visit the Drapers Arms before and after the game. It’s usually busy on match day but never too much so. Great atmosphere, fantastic choice of great ales, always in perfect condition. The owner/landlord always makes us welcome (we tell him we are ‘away’ supporters) and takes time to tell us about the beers on offer. One of my favourite pubs (and I’ve been in a few!). Haven’t tried food. Highly recommend”
