“After countless trips to Bath over the years, I can't believe I only just discovered Sushmita — and what a discovery it was! This place is an instant favourite and will now be a must-visit on every future trip. They serve authentic Odia and Bengali food, and every single dish we tried was a comforting, flavourful delight. The Chingri Chop, Lollipop, and Mutton Kosha were all outstanding, prepared with so much heart. It's honestly hard to pick a favourite because everything was just that good. The ambience is simple yet so warm. It truly felt like stepping into someone’s home. And speaking of homely, Bineeta was the cherry on the cake. Her warmth, and genuine hospitality turned a great meal into a memorable experience. She was a one man army truly! ❤️ If you're in Bath and craving something soulful, warm, and beautifully cooked — look no further. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves Odia/Bengali cuisine or just good food made with love. Thank you, Sushmita, for such a lovely experience. See you again very soon!”
“Our usual Indian has gone downhill so we ventured out and came across Bikanos, always daunting trying a new takeaway but this place was fantastic we ordered a takeaway and collected it, very friendly welcome offered a drink on arrival as I was early to collect food was ready on time and one of the best tasting Indian dishes we’ve had in ages! Will definitely be coming back again!”
“The food was delicious, our new favourite curry house in Bristol. There was loads of great veggie options and the staff were very helpful. Would recommend.”
“1. Flavour & Menu Variety Many reviews praise the food. Tapas / street-food style small plates get good marks (e.g. Szechwan Cauliflower, Manchurian Chicken, Pani Puri) for being flavourful and different from standard curry house fare. 2. Service & Staff Generally, people find the staff friendly, helpful, attentive. Good customer service appears frequently in reviews. 3. Atmosphere & Cocktail Deals The restaurant has a relaxed but stylish vibe. Cocktails are often mentioned as a highlight, especially the “2 for £10” offer. It’s seen as a good place to relax with friends. 4. Vegetarian/Vegan Options / Dietary Flexibility Plenty of small plates that are vegetarian or vegan. Reviewers say there are good options for different dietary requirements.”
“We had such a wonderful experience at Bandook Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — full of rich flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish tasted so fresh and authentic, and it truly felt like a treat for the taste buds. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and genuinely generous with their service. From the moment we walked in, I felt well taken care of. If you’re looking for amazing food paired with warm hospitality, I’d definitely recommend Bandook. It’s a place worth visiting again and again!”
“Indian Temptation is known for miles around for their Masala Dosa and excellent veggie curries but this time we went for the newly introduced Christmas Thali and very fine it is too - beautiful to look at and great to eat with lots of varied dishes and tastes. Recommended”
“Delicious food, amazing mocktails and great service! We had a pleasant experience at the coconut tree, our server Ash was very attentive and gave us recommendations. The portion sizes may not look big but they do fill you up very quickly. The calamari in particular was the star of the show! We’d love to come back to try the other half of the menu.”
“Best Indian I have ever had, so tasty and so much of it! Rice was beautiful and so was the curry. Popadoms cooked to perfection. My go to place for an Indian from now on. Staff were friendly and welcoming.”
“You can’t get an impression of the place from the front door, which is nondescript to say the least. Once you’ve made it up the stairs though, it opens out into a very nice dining area (impressive ceiling and murals). Food was excellent and the service very good. I didn’t catch our waiter’s name, but he was very jolly.”
“Very comfortable and tidy to sit inside or outside with family. The, staff are respectful, responsive and friendly caring Moreover food is fresh and delicious hence the rating”
“We visited on Thursday evening for a special dinner to celebrate somellier Roberto being name in the Top 100 Somelliers in the UK at #27. As you would expect the wines were great and complemented the wonderful food perfectly. Prithvi is the #1 restaurant in Cheltenham for good reason.”
“Great food with friendly service. I had the chicken on French fries. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the toppings were fresh. Great deal for the price.”
“Great take away! Really friendly staff and food was excellent. Ordered a variety of food and would definitely go back. Menu has loads of options from the classics to more unique.”
“Great little place, staff were welcoming and friendly, food was fantastic. My first time there but will definitely go back. I had the honey chicken & pistachio dessert.”
“Always a fantastic mix of awesome food and welcoming staff. We order takeaway and have used this place three or four of times a year for the last 8 years and haven't had a bad experience. Food is always really fresh and well presented. 10/10”
“Just had an amazing takeaway from here delivered. Really delicious and high quality, not oily and greasy like other places. Delicious flavours and a first time order side dish gift included! Will definitely order again.”
“Mate. Honestly, I was expecting a mid meal with small portions. For a takeaway Indian inside of a locals pub, I am absolutely flabbergasted! The pub itself is adequately okay, probably not the fanciest place to eat your food. We took away, the Lol Gost, Chicken tikka masala, and a few sides. BANGIN'! I can honestly say it is within the top 3 Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Very decent pricing, and incredibly fair portion sizes. Me and my friend couldn't finish it all (though we could have had seconds if we had a couple more pints) Very friendly staff, smiles on their faces (and gave up extra papadams) Don't take my word on it, try it for yourself (however you should take my word on it, it's very good) Yours sincerely, Me P.S. Despite the humorous undertones, I genuinely am very impressed. We sat discussing our food for about 30 minutes and speaking about how good it is. We are both hospitality workers and figured we should leave a review since it was so good.”
“Food was delicious and the gentleman helping us was very accommodating despite the odd hour we stopped by. I was so happy with the taste. The naan was amazing! If you are in Bath definitely stop by!”
“Found by accident but so happy we did! Perfect chai for a hot day teamed with a flaky well stuffed samosa! Also had a wrap which was delicious. Really great value for money and really tasty food! Definitely worth a visit! Note there is no seating but there are parks and benches near by!”
“One of the best Indian takeaways in Bath, currys are always good, and the house kebab special is a bargain. Polite friendly staff.. And they have a app which is easy to use.. 11/10”
“Visited for our wedding anniversary, absolutely fantastic food and service. We had the tasting menu, every course was delicious and we ended up taking a full takeaways worth home as well so definitely worth the price! The staff were brilliant, they even went as far as to tailor the tasting for my pregnant wife and topped the night off with complimentary mocktails. My only issue is that we're not local enough to make it a regular visit. If you're local or visiting Bath, definitely get in here.”
“Very much food!! Great service and food my sister did not like her meal as it was spicy and they remade it no questions asked loved my meal and they are very nice here. Very busy but had a seat for us. Would recommend!!! You can bring you own drink as well. It was about £12 a head!!”

“Had the Mix Platter starter perfect for sharing. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Great start to our meal!”
“A busy Saturday night in a quaint underground restaurant that reminded me of the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars. Private booths with incredible service and fantastic food. I couldn't recommend anywhere better to have Indian food whilst in Bath!”
“This place is so good!! Visiting from the US and the employees were so kind. The fish and chips were awesome, as well as the olives and the complimentary dish we received (which I’ve unfortunately forgotten the name of). 10/10!! If we ever return to Bath, we will come back!”
“My second visit whilst visiting Bristol from Newport. This place is epic, some items could be a bit cheaper but it's absolutely brilliant and sells everything! Items like rare Brut Musk deodorant to great blackout curtains and tea sets. It's neat and tidy and just had a simple, old school feel to it, still haven't fully explored it, looking forward to my next visit. Cafe looks simple yet decent, turning over nicely (11:30am ish).”
“VERY cool experience! The dining location itself is worth the visit! We sat at a table overlooking the river and it was beautiful!! Staff were amazing, food was great, we will most definitely go back again! We both ordered chicken curry (different kinds) and they were both amazing! Worth going to!”
“By far the best curry in bath. Been going for the last 15 years and not a bad meal yet. Lovely man, traditional family business, clean hygiene! Plus you can play space invaders while you wait and he stays open late. Thank you.”
“Was looking for something local for dinner and curry mahal did not disappoint! Ordered to collect from restaurant, the owner was welcoming and chatty as we waited to our order. We got and jalfezi and shatkora which was so flavourful and unique, explains why it’s the owner’s favourite. Only regret was not sitting in, we definitely be back!”
