“The menu is varied with good sized portions especially for Sunday Lunch. A 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill so be aware of this. If you want a cheap meal then this maybe not the place to go, but check their online menu. Tables are well spaced out with plenty of room between them and the chairs we had were very comfortable.”

“We visited as a large group to celebrate a birthday, and both the food and service were fantastic. The staff did an excellent job serving all 13 of us efficiently, and everyone’s steaks were cooked perfectly. The house wine was great value too. When it came to settle at the end, the bill didn’t clearly list each item, which made it a bit awkward to work out what everyone owed. I’m worried that the extra tip each of us contributed, may have been accidentally absorbed into the remaining balance for the person who paid last. I think due to this, we didn’t leave anything for the wonderful service. This was totally our fault! We will make up for it when we return as we’ll definitely be back!”

“Everything about this place is perfect. The decor is warm, welcoming and charming. The service is friendly and the food is really tasty and great value for money. My grandparents are regulars and recommended the place and it will now be a definite place to go when I am back in the area on another Somerset visit! Would recommend and return.”

“It felt like home. I visited with a friend last summer (we are both Nigerian). The aroma, people and music were all so lively. The staff were so friendly and engaging. It felt like we’d known each other, just like it is at home. Not to mention, the foods were so tasty and affordable. We had to take some back home with us! The only issue is that it can be a little hard to find as there was no sign board. I returned in November with other friends, but locating it was hard, and when we called the number provided here, we found out it was closed, opening/closing isn’t updated on here. I hope to return when next I’m in Cardiff.”

“The Underdog is such a hidden gem. It’s usually not very busy, but if more people knew about it, the place would be packed! 2 for 1 cocktails before 7pm, great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, 2 pool tables that take coins, great atmosphere and really friendly staff.”

“Situated on Weston super Mares High Street opposite where Marks and Spencers once traded from. It's been open for a year now and is sandwiched between Mountain Warehouse and Fone World. Service was first class and I had the quickest cooked breakfast I've ever ordered. It also filled the spot just like a fry up ought to. Cafe probably seats around 50 customers with the option to sit out front on a warmer day. Staff were very friendly. I'll be sure to pop in again.”

“Superb restaurant experience. 1st time here but not the last it doesn’t matter that this wonderful place is situated in the middle of an housing estate nor does it matter that the main car park is small and awkward, all that matters is the quality of service and food which is excellent. The standard of cookery and quality of the Welsh meats is of the highest order, my son and I both agree that the Chateaubriand was the best and most flavoursome we have ever tasted anywhere. The ‘Firey’ Scallops were an explosion of flavours that will provoke debate. The desserts were a delight and beautifully presented. Our young server Bonnie-Rae was excellent, polite and courteous, her manner enabled us to really enjoy a more relaxed and informal evening, she fully explained all courses including allergies and the extensive GF options.”

“Came here before for the pub, but decided to stay when visiting Cardiff again. The staff were really lovely and helpful with checking us in. Our room was modern and spotless. In terms of convenience, it's very close to city centre and things like Cardiff Castle, National Museum, and Cardiff Bay. The pub downstairs is great as well especially if you love to watch sport. I think it's a great value for what you pay.”

“Booked a room for my daughter to have our grandchild christened. Very reasonable rates for hiring the room £50 for 3 hrs. There was also a £100 deposit returned after the event finished to cover damages. The bar staff were excellent and could not do enough to make sure everything went smoothly. Prices of drinks were very cheap and would strongly recommend this club as an excellent venue for any type of celebration you want to hold.”

Too many options on the menu to choose from and I decided to go for the steak one which was tender and juicy! My friend had a veggie burger which was yum! The halloumi fries were spot on. I only wished they served milkshakes too which would have been an icing on the cake!”

“One of my favourite places to eat in South Wales. Lovely atmosphere, great for brunch with a great selection included loads of vegetarian options. Chocolate brownie is decadent. The cafe/restaurant itself is lovely but what is good is that there is a secluded small but fun play area for children to play in whilst you wait for your food (it is outside!)”

Their milk base coffee drinks and tea were super. The staff was so friendly, and the overall atmosphere and people was something, loved all.”
