“Was really nervous about putting my two dogs into the kennels but we got reassured that our babies will be just fine.. when we picked them up they were so bouncy and happy! Which put us at ease straight away.. tbh I don’t think they wanted to leave aha! Great service great kennels would highly recommend.. our dogs even smelt amazing too and felt so soft!”

“Great little local pet shop, with everything you could need for most pets, including chickens and fish. Awesome selection of loose dog treats. The dog is always happy when we come back from a visit. Friendly and helpful staff. Haven't used it yet, but they also do local delivery of large items including straw and wood chip bales and sacks of chicken feed etc... Much better prices, selection and consistency of stock than the large brand shop in ponty!”

“We cannot praise Ross, Laura and the team at Keepers Cottage enough for their care of our collie over the past week. Our much loved boy was shockingly mistreated at our previous kennels, despite boarding there without any cause for concern for over 8 years. Following this incident, we paid a visit to a few alternative boarding facilities ahead of our vacation this year and started to doubt whether we would be able to trust another kennel to care for our pet the way in which we would. We'd read that Keepers Cottage had been taken over by new management in the past few years and despite our initial reluctance (having only ever heard negative reviews of the business as it was previously run) we reached out to arrange a visit and was pleasantly surprised by the response we received, suggesting we call by at any time during opening hours (something that's normally frowned upon or restricted by other kennels). As soon as we met Laura and Ross our minds were instantly put at ease - what a genuinely lovely pair of people! Both were so welcoming and completely open and upfront about the extensive work that they'd already undertaken to get the kennels in the condition that they are today, and the plans they have to make even more improvements over the next few years. Ross' knowledge and love of animals is evident from the questions he asked about our dog, his health and our past experiences and it was immediately apparent that for these guys, this business isn't just a means of income, but a shared and genuine passion shared by the whole family - they really do care about what they do. Due to the past trauma experienced by our collie, Ross recommended that we leave him there for a day to see how he settled before any long term boarding - a perfect suggestion that not only helped him to settle in, but to completely set aside any fears we may have had about leaving him in kennels. I picked him up after a weeks stay earlier today and we were in complete shock over how happy and content he was; he even ran past me, straight to Laura as soon as he came out of his run - if that doesn't speak volumes for how well he enjoyed his stay then I don't know what does! It was clear that he's been well looked after; his bedding wasn't dirty as it normally it, he didn't smell like he's done in the past and he didn't pull and whine to go home like normal. It's evident that he's been well looked after and I cannot thank Laura, Ross, their girls and the team enough - after his stay with you, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our pets. We look forward to many happy stays with you in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend you guys to anyone!”

“This shop has been here for years. Bought my goldfish from here when I was a little girl. My son wanted a fish tank and fish for his birthday. We made the mistake of buying a tank and filter from Pets at home and had endless problems, and we unfortunately lost two fish along the way. We decided to go to aquatic house and we were given lots of really good advice on the tank size, filter, types of fish, feeding and upkeep etc and since then our aquarium and fish are thriving. All of our healthy fish have come from here as there is a great range to choose from. Absolute game changer going to aquatic house. I won't be going anywhere else! Thank you.”

“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”

“Popped in today to pick up some supplies for my Hognose. Come out over an hour later (a very interesting and entertaining hour) with a huge amount of new information to absorb and no supplies as the guys in the shop informed me my purchases were unessesary. How refreshing that the staff don't try to upsell things you don't need. What a fountain of knowledge they are. The animals are all in pristine condition and obviously very well cared for. This is the place to come for reptiles/ amphibians and supplies. The passion these guys have for the animals shines though and they were so friendly and helpful.”

“Hamish stayed for 2 night, 3 days - we had lots of photos and videos, and every day we were kept updated on Hamish. Hamish hasn’t really mingled with other dogs but at royvon they kept a close eye and introduced him to others and he took to them very well. Will definitely return as felt hamishs needs were met to the fullest.”

“Just been to this vets for the first time as we are on holiday in Watchet and my sproker, Barney, had become unwell. They were amazing!! 5 star service. When I called at lunchtime, they were full but within minutes the lovely lady on reception called me back after they had a cancellation. I saw Paul, the vet, he was amazing with my reactive dog, very knowledgeable and calm and kind and efficiently treated him. I can't thank them enough.”

“I shopped here for the first day today.. what an amazing bunch of staff working there! They really took the time to help me find things and when they didn’t stock what I need they recommend another local shop! Superb service from Ben Who asked how I was and showed me his new haircut! Lisa is awesome too! I won’t shop at these big Supermarkets anymore! These guys treat you like an individual and not just a transaction at the till!”

“A family run pharmacy with excellent service, really feel they put the customers first! Only pharmacy I know that you feel they properly go above and beyond to ensure you get what you need. Also a very nice shop itself and a nice friendly atmosphere in there. Have been running additional Covid-19 services throughout the pandemic.”

“Really lovely clean rooms with a 10/10 breakfast, welcoming kind staff and the perfect setting for children with the small park and fish pond. My only feedback would be the curtains. The room was lovely and bright, as the front wall and door are all windows, but this did mean that it didn't get fully dark until gone 10pm (if at all) and was very bright by 5am, granted this was exacerbated by having a toddler in tow, so might not bother others as much. We will be back for sure!”

“Have been using Pinecroft for many years now. Sharon and Avril are always very accommodating and always take great care of our cat. In the last couple of years he hasn't been too well, and they also ensure he has his medication. Would recommend them very highly.”

“Finally found the perfect leads and longlines thanks to Houndagrips. Having tried numerous longlines that have "burnt" my hands, thighs and ankles (if you know you know!), and have been heavy when wet and frayed when bitten, I decided to try HG. HG are lightweight, super strong, weatherproof, easy to clean (come up a treat on a quick cold machine wash) and so far unbreakable/chewable. I have two border collies, the youngest Blue, aka Houdini, likes to scare as recall is a problem so I need to be confident that any lead will be strong enough and the clips secure. Having bought the normal longlines previously I asked Ryan if he could make me a custom order with locking, swivel carabinar clips to give me that extra reassurance. Ryan replied to my query whilst on holiday and I now have longlines in different lengths plus several leads (I have to double lead Houdini!) and feel much more relaxed. Not sure Blue is as happy as me as touch wood he hasn't escaped since I have been using the new leads. Thanks Ryan.”

“Top Dog is the best groomer we have ever used. I love the fact that our dog (a very discerning character!) walks in happy and walks out just as happy. The grooming itself is professional and sensitive to our Cavapoo's shaggy hair. The last groomer we went to massacred Rosie's coat making her look like the product of a stylised poodle parlour. When Top Dog have finished with her she looked shaggy and natural and yet her coat had been thoroughly sorted. The fur on her legs was shorter, her ears and tail longer, the fur on her back had been graded in length. I can only say how delighted I am with Top Dog. I certainly won't be taking Rosie anywhere else! Thank you!”
