“This has to be the most loviest hotel I’ve stayed at. It felt like home and I have a heavy heart leaving here tomorrow, I don’t want to go. The staff are absolutely amazing the food 10 out of 10 the chips are to die for! The bed… best sleep ever altho I was here for work it felt like I was on holiday and nothing was to much for the staff very kind helpful and chatty. Like I say I do not want to go but all good things have to come to an end. But bank on it I will be back FACT … left a mark on my heart ❤️”

“Lynn & David are perfect hosts. Room (en suite) is very spacious. We were asked what we would like for breakfast and, when served, it was delicious with orange juice, cereal, fresh fruit and toast. Very central..walked to Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and Museum. 25k steps..will sleep tonight.”

“We had recently visited Edinburgh and had a stay in this guest house. The building feels old and antique. We took the family room with separate bathroom. Rooms are not clean, we found cob webs hanging on the walls, paint got peeled and hanging. Bathroom was neat and clean. Staff was good. All together a nice stay for the price.”

“Enjoyed a lovely family birthday dinner here. The food was great, they were happy to make adjustments for me as I have dietary issues. Our server Olivia McG even helped make suggestions to accommodate this and still have a full and great meal. She was very knowledgeable and patient which really helped me enjoy my experience. Birthday girl was well taken care of and the staff went out of thier way to make her feel special. Would definitely come back.”

“We were four adults and had a nice stay. The accomodations are good, although it's true it could be cleaner (for example the ceiling in the bathroom), but it's ok for a few nights and everything was comfortable. The breakfast was great. We were satisfied with the location and had no problems coming back walking late at night. We were told that parking in the street was around £20 so we left the car at the Princess Exchange parking for £18 24 hours”

“I was stranded in town, needing accommodation and I was referred to that place. Neil and Joyce, the hosts, went above and beyond the call of duty in order to help me. They have a charming house. Their rooms are beautifully and richly decorated and the whole place has a warm feeling. And, on top of this, they will cook you a fantastic, made to order, breakfast ! Highly recommended.”

“Great room and location. I had a reservation for a room for 3 persons. Our room had bunk beds, and a queen bed, super comfortable, and clean. We also, had a great view and the location was at a walkable distance to the old town as well as new Edinburgh.Customer service was great and price was affordable. Great place over all.”

“Great modern apartment in old town Edinburgh. Central to everything you want. A little bit hard to find but very private in a busy area. Amazing view of Arthur's Seat from our top floor room. Made all the stairs worth it!”

“From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel owner – a very kind and friendly person. We had a pleasant conversation, which set a positive tone for our entire stay. The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, and very cozy. We spent a lovely and relaxing time there. Later, we went for dinner and really enjoyed it – the food was delicious, and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. In the morning, we had breakfast – a classic English breakfast served buffet-style, so we could help ourselves. Some hot dishes were brought to us by a kind lady, including tasty eggs, bacon, sausages, and other delicious items. Although we stayed only one night, we had a truly enjoyable experience. Five stars from us for the hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and food. We definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!”

“Did exactly what it said on the tin. Simple accommodation but clean. Rooms are student fayre so minimalist but large study desks and comfortable double beds. Shared kitchens well appointed and spacious. Laundry on site and common room. Don't expect TV. Learn to talk to each other again!”

“Cushy dwelling suited for the savvy traveller. Cheap, cosy rooms (£50 for a single Saturday night with breakfast). My room was in the basement and had a modern en suite shower. There was an endless dull noise from the stairs of a morning but that was my only complaint. Service is casual. I like casual. Casual is normal. I'd stay here again.”

“I regularly go here for lunch or dinner with friends and family. There's nothing on the menu that I could criticise as I have enjoyed everything I have tried. The set menu has lots to choose from and is so reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Cant comment on the hotel itself as I haven't stayed. Thanks guys x”

“I stayed in a 6 person room, everything is clean and well constructed, a locker is available for your kit and locks are rentable for £3 if you forget yours. Facilities are everything you could need and the kitchen is well equipped if you want to do some cooking Staff are super friendly, always give any new arrivals a nice greeting/walk around and can't do enough to help with any issues! For a hostel, it's everything you can ask for and a greet price and location! Will definitely be back next time I'm in the city”

“The Glenora is a lovely place to stay! The location is brilliant, very easy to get to, the breakfast was amazing and the prices are good too. It's a lovely building, very cool to stay when you're in a city like edinburgh, rather then some impersonal modern hotel.”

“We've stayed at No. 26 several times now, and we're always delighted to go back. It's a home from home, but better! A huge positive for us is that our two dogs are welcome. They love the beach in Elie (so do we!). The cottage is in a lovely quiet area and has everything you need for your stay. The enclosed garden is a beautiful sun-trap. It's just a relaxed place to be and we always come back from our stay at No. 26 feeling refreshed (with two worn out chocolate labradors!)”

“Beautiful cosy holiday home. Had everything we needed. Excellent communication from the owner and her family. Offered us a fair discount as one of the toilets was out of order (known in advance). So much space for a single storey apartment. We were a couple plus two kids. Clean, cosy and I had five excellent nights of sleep! Also the en suite shower is perfection, bit gutted to be leaving it! Easy drive to Edinburgh - we booked decent priced parking on the YourParking app. Also highly recommend parking up near Flotterstone / Pentland carpark for a walk through the Pentland countryside - beautiful! We also drove to Aberlady nature reserve (45 mins) for a gorgeous walk to an almost deserted beach.”
