“A hidden gem in a place to stay while in Edinburgh.”
“This is a very nice performance space, comfortable and well air conditioned. All the seats have an excellent view of the stage.”
“A wonderful community space that holds the legendary Ingram Cinema Organ from the old Astoria Cinema which is now a supermarket!”
“Absolutely gorgeous venue a must visit for theater fans”
“Spontaneous Potter at the Fringe. Wildly funny take on Harry Potter. Theatre was a room in the basement which served it's purpose well.”
“Ive always loved the Pavillion, it was always welcoming as a family run business and even though it's been bought over by Merlin it still has a good vibe”
“Ella was absolutely incredible. What an experience to see an artist in such a private venue. Amazing! Staff were so friendly and the venue was gorgeous.”
“Very nice place with a bit of everything, mainly orientated for play and leasure. I spent a good time in family or by myself in the gym. Birthday party for kids are very usual as well. It is clean and has secure car parking although I found the spaces quite narrow and it can get very busy.”
“Went there during the Fringe for a show. The place is beautiful, and the rooms (despite being quite small) are nice. The way to the top floor through the stairs is great and looks like being in the inside of a castle!”
“Beautiful view at night and nice street art along the canal ✨”
“The best cinema in Edinburgh. This is a large cinema with all kinds of cool screens. Their standards screens are definitely above average in size. Always showing the new films for a good amount of time. Then there’s the only IMAX screen in Edinburgh. 100 feet and so immersive! And lately the new 4DX theatres, really surprised me! The seats shake and rotate like you can’t imagine, but timed very well to the movies. They spray water, smoke and scents. It’s very fun!”
“Fanatic wetherspoons (one of the best I've been in) two lovely upper balcony's with plenty seating areas, looking over the old stage. Great selection of drinks, including local ales Fast friendly service from the staff and the food is pretty decent for a spoons and also if your on a bit of a budget”
“Only open when shows are on... better if regular ticket office hours, say if open when bistro is open Great bar and seated area Good variety of artists, films and community shows Acoustics and staff are super”
“The space itself is great. The organizers had a good idea but a bad execution: plastic cups that are not disposable, but you have to buy them! You don’t get your money back after using. The idea was a mess, because people were not able to take them home so they landed in the waste bin.”
“Confortable place to enjoy time with family, friends or colleagues. Take a drink and a bite. I'll be back for a sticky toffee pudding.”
“The Fringe at its best. Extraordinary professionals doing a G&S spof amateur production "...and Helen"”
“It was a decent enough place for an early lunch. If I hadn't been with my daughter whoes over visiting me I'd not have enjoyed it as much”
“Watched Lena at the Edinburgh Fringe in here. Massive theatre so plenty of room and spare seats so if you are a bit wary of small theatres then go for this. Fab and emotional show also.”
“This is a tardis of nostalgic childhood memories. From the outside it would be easy to think it's just a shop but it's not. Once through the first room, there are loads of other rooms over many levels. They have a lift if you can't manage the stairs. In each room you hear.... "oooo I remember...." To be honest, from the inside first bit I hadn't expected much, but how wrong was I ! It was brilliant. Definitely worth a visit and definitely worth contributing to keep it open.”
“We were spellbound by this dramatic and emotional re-imagined portrayal of Hamlet. Hamlet's old soul performed by Sir Ian McKellern was riveting. A Fringe must see if you can get tickets.”
“If you’re in Scotland, you have to come and see this amazing building and experience what the parliament does in Scotland. We had a really interesting talk by one of the guides who told us all about departments and the history about it and how this new amazing building has come to be since 1999. Just so much to do here.”
“Was absolutly great nice clean and tidy the only thing that let the night down was the araehole and his Mrs who were sat next to us absokutly steaming and talking through the full film apart from that it was great”
“The best training you will ever receive here in Edinburgh, I have never been more proud, more privileged to have been trained here. Each and every tutor know's the profession because they are either in it or have been. Top Class Training here in Edinburgh. If you want to be trained professionaly and you can't afford to train in London, this academy is the place to be. #OnlyAtMGA”
“Great small venue for Fringe. Loved the 3/4 thrust set up.”
“KCS theatre Co. pefroming at the Fringe is such a highlight in Edinburgh. Gothic, stylised victoriana, beautifully choreographed with fluid movement from the ensemble. A must see theatre group”
“Twice been to the venue. Both times the plays were very original”
“One of the nicest sites we have camped at. Great pitch size. A busy site, but didn't feel too crowded. The toilet and shower facilities were fantastic and extremely clean. Great showers. Cubicles had plenty of hooks for our clothes/towel/bag etc. Nothing got wet. Plenty of hand basins, with light up mirrors, and single Cubicles as well. Well stocked shop with reasonable prices. We were 2 adults camping so didn't use the playground or games room, but both looked great. The staff were pleasant, polite and friendly. Excellent location for Edinburgh city centre. Bus stop just outside drive entrance, with regular buses. Would not hesitate to recommend.”
“Amazing afternoon at Stramash with family and friends, including a 6year old, for whom it was her first experience. She’s hooked! She wanted to dance every dance, and loved dancing with ‘Santa’ (a look alike character). The music was brilliant! Can’t wait to return next year. Well done Stramash!”
“My guy Felix 10 out of 10 cinema hospitality. Was extremely helpful with all of our very complicated requirements and due to a lack of stock provided us with more than sufficient compensation in terms of popcorn and nachos this man was so helpful and eager to progress his own personal development on the tills by figuring out how to do the split payment and our extreme demands and overall very friendly and cool guy he was very open and honest about his experience of dealing with tills and just really took away any grievances we may have over a lack of stock with his overwhelmingly friendly service 100% would recommend give this man a medal and a raise. Well done dude!”
“We had recently visited Edinburgh and had a stay in this guest house. The building feels old and antique. We took the family room with separate bathroom. Rooms are not clean, we found cob webs hanging on the walls, paint got peeled and hanging. Bathroom was neat and clean. Staff was good. All together a nice stay for the price.”
