“Every thing was perfect went to Highfield Saturday late afternoon for something to eat everything was lovely the lady behind the bar even brought a chew out for the dog that was with us.nothing was too much trouble .would definitely recommend .thankyou.x”
“We went for a Sunday roast. I’ve struggled to find places that are up to scratch in terms of getting a good roast. This place was spot on. I had the beef and it was cooked perfectly, a lovely medium rare cut of topside. The chicken and pork was also very good!”
“Lovely friendly place, had a large family group Sunday lunch for fathers day. Everyone enjoyed it. Also enjoyed a few drinks outside in the sun before our 30 second walk back to our accommodation.”
“Visited for tea and was really nice food good and fairly quick, it was busy but the bar staff even though run off their feet were very polite and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them, certainly will re- visit”
“My new favourite place to eat Sunday lunch £15ish for large really good prices and tasty, lunch menu looked really good aswell. Had a few drinks outside nice little sun trap. Couple of old blokes on the bar so friendly and welcoming I will be back”
“We have just enjoyed a takeaway meal for my Grandsons 16th birthday. We all chose different appetisers , main courses and a variety of Rice. We had the smaller portions which were perfect. We all swapped tasters and a great time was had by all. Every mouthful of every dish was absolutely superb and we certainly will use Atiyas for our next celebratory takeaway.”
“Had a lovey meal with my husband. Staff friendly and very helpful. Full marks to the chef for a well presented tasty meal and not expensive. Thank you to everyone at The New Inn Leven for making us feel welcome.”
“We stopped here for lunch and we thought the food, the price and the service was spot on. Delicious hot sandwiches with a tasty side. All of the light bites are meant to be half size, but the portions are very generous and suited my 12 year old perfectly. Staff were friendly and genuine. Much appreciated and would happily recommend this for a casual lunch spot.”
“I saw a few reviews from Caprani’s and thought I’d also give my review of the same night. We too called to book a table, whilst we were aiming for 6:30pm, we were able to secure a table for 6:45pm. The chap on the phone was lovely and polite. We turned up, on arrival the bar was busy and the atmosphere was sociable with country music playing (much to one of our friends delight). There were 3/4 other full tables, all of which looked delighted with their meals. We ordered drinks and food, no issue. In fact, the children’s wished to order a an adults meal off the special board which the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate as 2 children’s meal. Thank you! Our table ordered the red Thai curry, 3 steaks and 2 portions of ribs. All of which were cooked to perfection and tasted gorgeous! The homemade chips were the right combo of crispy and soft, they reminded me of how my great grandma use to do hers. We stayed until around 9pm. The service from the waitress was lovely, it was nice to see the owners socialising with visitors and the beer gardens been used. The only down side was the lack of desserts. They only had two options available when we were asked if we’d like desserts at 8pm, but we were pretty full from the large portions way. I’m not sure what pub the two other individuals went too, it sounds like they had a rough time, but this definitely wasn’t our experience at the Half Moon Skidby ♥️ We will be back again soon!”
“A little gem of a place. Looking for somewhere different from pub grub and takeaways this place popped up on a Google search. Friendly attentive staff, comfortable seating and a good menu. One Moules Mariniere, followed by Risotto da Vinci for my fellow diner, one Chicken Provencale and Penne di Pollo Pesto later we were very happy diners. Freshly prepared, served nice and hot and the tastiest Mediterranean food I have had for a very long time. Only a 5- 10 minute walk from the train station and bus stops. Trains from Barton upon Humber take you to Grimsby Town station, definitely worth the trip.”
“Great meal and really friendly staff, lovely choice, reasonable pricing and eclectic and interesting music throughout the evening.”
“I had a fantastic experience at Butler Whites. easily one of Hull’s best spots for great food and atmosphere. The menu was creative and everything we ordered was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The industrial-chic setting adds to the charm, making it perfect for both a relaxed meal or a special night out. A special mention to Emme, who made the evening even better with her outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s always great when the service matches the quality of the food, and Emme absolutely nailed it. Can’t wait to come back, highly recommend!”
“I've gone with my family several times now and everything has been perfect. I especially enjoy the scotch eggs and their roast chicken with wild mushrooms. Sunday roast, while busy, is worth the wait as well. We are excited to frequent here and try more of the menu”
“I took my 2 teenage sons for dinner last Friday evening. Both boys were taking photos of the food as soon as it arrived, presentation was super! The quality of the food was fantastic, full of flavour and very generously portioned. There was a good range of food on the menu and plenty of drink options. The boys have declared it their new favourite restaurant. Perfect if you want to push the boat out a little without going overboard.”
“We had a lovely lunch here and the experience was brilliant to match. Sarah was an absolute star helping us today and we could not have asked for a better afternoon in Hull!”
“We had a wonderful wedding here and want to say a huge thank you to Beth, who was incredible from start to finish. After two years of planning, nothing was ever too much trouble, and she made everything feel personal and special. The on-the-day coordinator was also fantastic, keeping everything running smoothly (and even saving the day with a cocktail at the end of the aisle!), and the evening team and bar staff the night before were all so kind and helpful. There were a few areas that could be improved – breakfast being served in the reception room meant guests saw the setup early, there’s no bridal suite for getting ready, and the bar staff on the wedding day seemed quite new and a little overwhelmed, especially with the wine service. That said, the Pavilion Suite was spacious, the food was amazing (with lovely thoughtful touches and great catering for dietary needs), and overall the team worked so hard to make it a magical day. With a few tweaks from management, this venue could be perfect, and we’d still happily recommend it to future couples”
