“Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon after Grok (my AI) suggested the Angel as the best spot for a Sunday lunch between Pontefract and Barnsley, boy did grok nail that recommendation!! Fitted us in no problem, food was just amazing (especially the black pudding wrapped scotch eggs!!) portions were huge, like the Yorkshire puddings!!, vegetables all cooked to perfection. Definitely couldn’t fault a single thing, well done to you all, and a shout out to the fabulous staff. Thanks for a great Sunday lunch, you didn’t disappoint and Grok rules for recommendations!!”

“Very warm welcome, big pizzas at fair prices, drink fairly priced also. The whole pub and grounds has been renovated to a very nice old/modern look standard. Definitely will return”

“This is one of my favourite pubs in Wakefield. It has a superb location and a large selection of seating from outside on the lawn and the pub garden to inside the pub or it's conservatory. The pub itself is very old and worth visiting purely for this reason. It's full of character and is worth seeing. As for the food - the pies here are next level. The staff are always friendly. So yes definitely one to visit.”

“Stopped by for dinner to enjoy a bit of Americana, and we were welcomed with open arms. Wonderful staff and service, I had the ribs which were incredible, we also enjoyed several cocktails including the old fashioned and the snow-ito which were both delicious. Upon learning my partner is from north america, the chef excitedly gave us a kitchen tour, adding to the friendly and welcoming feel of the place. We ended up spending way too much as what we meant to be a quick dinner turned into a 3 course meal. Would visit again!”

“Had a party for 40 people last weekend. Tillybods provided the food…lovely trays of food for me to heat as & when I wanted. Amazingly tasty dishes, with the star of the show for me being the Chicken Tikka Masala (again !). Great compliments from everyone. Will definitely find excuses for more parties just to get more food !”

Despite there being a number of alternatives locally, they are in our opinion by far the best in the area. (They also do consistently good jacket potatoes and catering for our staff and client meetings).”

“Moved local to BEANS not long ago I gave beans a go and haven't stopped ordering since I order at least 5 out of 7 mornings a week Deliveries every morning nice, fast and professionally. I did have just 1 problem out of the 100s of deliveries I have had and it was resolved in no time. Recieved a polite private message with an apology from the owner.
