“I Attended Wainstalls Junior and infants school from the age of 5, it was the year 1949 and the start of my education. I lived close to the school at Hambleton Hill Farm and would walk to school with a young girl from one of the farms nearby. One of the highlights of the school year was the Whitsun walk to Whitewash Rock, where a picnic would be had, tea and cakes all round. I am now 73 years old, but have never forgotten where I was brought up and it's nice to see that the school is still going as strongly as ever, I always remember it as a lovely place to go to. “The only decent school in Sowerby but you have your own say with the "student voicebox" so you can make a difference. Goes from y7 to sixth form.if you went to Ryburn then you are automatically into sixth format if wanted and they have their own study area which can help them with the grades you need The teachers are also very caring so if you need to speak to someone them it will be a lot easier Majority of the students are very frybut as with any other school there is bullying but it gets resolved in one for or another Overall it's a great school and no negative review as of midway Y8”
