“Absolutely a must it's literally the best food and so friendly staff big portions and very happy with everything we will be back soon i hope took the rest home”
“Me and my family got a takeaway from here for the first time. Booked the day before for collection. Had a few small changes such as no pepper. Amazing service over the phone, made sure everything was correct. Collected the food, lovely and warm. Tasted great! My brother wasnt sure he would like it but loved it. Will be back!”
“After visiting Thailand, I’ve been searching for food that tasted as good as what I tried there. The pad Thai took me straight back to Bangkok! Tasted exactly like a restaurant I had eaten at there! And the mango sticky rice is the best I’ve had in the UK so far. Would definitely recommend!”
“Lovely food shame portions weren't bigger but will definitely go again. Friendly staff and lovely manager”
“EXCEPTIONAL FOOD!!!! Not an easy place to find as it’s tucked away inside The Branch Wellness Clinic…there’s a hot food counter where you can watch the beautiful dishes cooked, fresh, authentic and delicious. We stumbled upon it after the usual place we meet for food was closed Mondays. Do not miss the chance to get food from here! They do takeaway and delivery. Eating in is not really much of an great option as seating is limited, but do not let this put you off…..very very reasonably priced meals and very friendly Thai staff. ( and if you’re lucky, you might meet Alfie) very good!”
“This is one of my fav thai places in my area. The food is always so tasty and amazing, the ladies working there are so lovely everytime I come to collect my order. 10/10! Great place if you want authentic thai food.”
“I take my family to this great restaurant a lot! The food is excellent! so tasty !! the team is friendly and the prices are good. Place is nice lovely clean I enjoy eating here highly recommended”
“We went it for a pre show meal at the theatre and was so happy with the atmosphere, decor, staff and the food was outstanding. We precooked and were greeted by a lovely staff member and we were quickly seated then moved as there was a light flickering and we had a party member with epilepsy (they were very accommodating) We had a look at the menu and they have a good selection the meals are little more expensive then average but there worth every penny. We ordered and the meals came out quickly, hot and looked amazing. The food was impeccable and we were over the moon with what we ordered and decided to treat ourselves to a dessert and we were very happy with our puds as well. Overall a fantastic experience with amazing food and wonderful staff and can't wait to go back there again and I have already recommended this restaurant too others”
“Have been to this place many many times over the years- always been great. Worried as they'd changed the menu and some of my favourites have gone but actually they're as good as ever. Was able to collect my order within 15 minutes which is very good going for a Saturday night.”
“I can only apologise for the delay in writing this review. My partner and I visited a couple of months ago when staying locally. We loved it so much on the first night that we went back the next day. We have since been a few weeks ago when we were in Huddersfield. They have a Thai Chef and an open kitchen. Their front of house staff are awesome, especially Tom who I believe owns the place. The last time my partner and I went, they had not quite opened for the evening but as Tom saw us passing, he came out and gave us an incredibly warm welcome and even the Chef remembered us! It felt like we were visiting old friends. I went to Thailand last year and can tell you the food from here just does not get more authentic. So much so that the first time I dined there, I had tears in my eyes as the amazing flavours, sights and smells took me right back to Thailand. It is located on an industrial estate but please do not let that put you off as if you are anywhere in Horbury and follow your nose, it will take you straight to this humble place. My partner lives in Liverpool and I live in Manchester. Both of us will travel to go there for a meal without hesitation. It really upsets me to see the negative reviews and they are undeserved. Yes, we all have bad days but never have I come across such an amazing place like this. It is a take away but you can dine in its wonderful surroundings and enjoy the atmosphere. We will be returning time and time again. A huge thank you to everyone who works there. Keep up the good work.”
“Finally there is a great Thai nearby without having to drive to Chapel Allerton or the city. Great portions, great fresh food, friendly service. We ordered the red and massaman curries. We also loved the gyoza and tempura prawns. Free prawn crackers are always a bonus.”
“Excellent "home run" Thai takeaway with a solid selection of standard options and rotating specials. Orders are placed in the week for collection on Saturday; which ensures all ingredients are fresh.”
“Been eating from here every other weekend since I was very young. Always had great service and removals of extras at request due to Crohn's disease. Big portions, wide menu variety. Even if I always order the same dishes. Presentation is what you would expect, but food is packed nicely and tightly to avoid steaming soggy food. Usually get a few free fortune cookies and returning customers are acknowledged. It's a simple gesture, but a much respected one.”
“Our group of eight Thai ladies absolutely loved the food here! Every dish we ordered tasted just like the authentic Thai food we’re used to back home. You can choose your preferred spice level—from mild to true Thai extra spicy, which we really appreciated. If we ever visit York again, we’ll definitely come back. There are a few Thai restaurants in our town, but most of them have adapted their flavours to suit British tastes. Tah Tien, on the other hand, delivers the real thing. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Thai dining experience.”
“Amazing breakfast, sausages are beautiful. Big portion Staff very friendly especially the owner. Locals in cafe were friendly and informative about things going on. Highly recommend a visit”
“Amazing food! Great choice and helpful staff if you unsure what to order. Decent price and nice portion sizes. Average wait time. Highly recommend a visit if in area.”
“Amazing Place. Great atmosphere, mega relaxed,, fantastic choice of sharing plates and chilled, professional staff. Not like normal tapas ... portion sizes are very generous so only 2 each required! Had ribs, duck, corn and fennel curry ... not picking out one because they were all delicious. Range of cocktails unique and was good to try something different .... again tastebud delight. Next time we are anywhere remotely near this area we will be making a trip to Lilypad x”
“The food is tasty and filling and the atmosphere is cosy and intimate, but the best part is that the owners are so affable and kind. You feel more like you're at your mate's eating something they whipped up for you rather than a corporate environment.”
“Everything about this place is perfect. The service from all the staff was excellent, the building itself is quaint and wonderful and the food! I was excepting it to be good based on the reviews but it's probably the best Thai meal I have had, full stop. The tapas style dishes were extremely generous portions, and special mention to the massaman, it was extremely tasty. All the dishes tasted fresh. Two adults, including alcohol for less than £100 is very good value. We will return.”
“Huge thanks offy ,oil ,ing ,Henry for the great service! The team was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Thanks chef and team for Delicious food, cozy vibes, and lots of smiles. We’re already excited to return!”
“This Thai tapas spot was a pretty interesting experience. The flavors were definitely on point, with some really delicious dishes coming out of the kitchen. However, I have to say, it was a bit on the pricey side for what you got. The portion sizes were just okay, not exactly generous. Overall, it's worth a try if you're looking for good Thai food, but be prepared for the bill.”
“Amazing food, it was really tasty and full of flavour and was great value for money, portion sizes are very good including side dishes. Friendly and attentive staff, no wait in being seated (Thursday mid-day) and gave good recommendations. Very clean and nice looking restaurant and lots of condiments to add on to food. Drink selection was also very good, the menu was a bit hard to read with the background but that's the only issue I had, a menu redesign would be much appreciated with higher contrast and some pictures to show some dishes, alternatively you can look at the online menu too.”
“This is the best Chinese food in York, incredibly affordable with the most delicious flavors. The staff are exceptionally friendly. I come here every week. It might just be the best Chinese food in the UK.”
“This place is life's changing...Honestly me and my girlfriend loves the owner and her OK sauce dishes are to die for! We have ordered 4 times in the last 10 days, it's a healthy problem hahaha! But we will be placing another order VERY VERY SOON!”
“We hadn’t been to Devour for a while and decided to go as a Friday night treat — it was just lovely. Such a nice atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. The lighting and music were spot on — calm, relaxed and easy to chat without any distractions. The team were friendly and attentive, drinks and wine were great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully presented, with so much care in the details — the crockery, glassware, table settings, and the gorgeous autumnal flower displays in the windows. It’s tough for hospitality at the moment, but Devour have created something really special and clearly work hard to keep it that way. Every part of it feels cared for — from the bar and restaurant to the garden and even the car park, which is neat, tidy and beautifully lit. We spent around £60 per person including cocktails, starters, a large sharing main with sides, wine, and a shared dessert — good value for the quality and experience. Everything about it just feels considered and done with pride. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a relaxed but special evening out.”
“My wife and I have just had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. My wife had the steak pie which was crammed with perfectly cooked beef steak and gravy , with chips and peas. I had game pie again crammed with meat and gravy , with chips peas and a large gravy boat. We could not have asked for a better meal. The wood burning stove blasted out a lot of heat, to make the room comforting. The service is so good that they bring your drinks to your table. Excellent value.”
“Lovely atmosphere and the staff were really nice. There's a great range of options for the food, which is all pretty good - standard Thai restaurant stuff. Overall a good evening out”
“So lucky we meet the owner. Food is very amazing. Authentic Thai food. No doubt why they are the oldest Thai restaurant in York. Highly recommend”
“Really enjoyed our first visit, bought as a gift. Having enjoyed 3 weeks backpacking round Thailand in February, my wife and I thought the street food starters and Pad Thai were excellent!”
