βFirst time at The Turnpike. Booked table for 4 on line. Great welcome on arrival. Fantastic food. We all had different dishes which were all fabulous - compliments to the chef. Extremely good Indian food which I would highly recommend. Great service, very clean, good value, good atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. We will definitely be going again! Best Indian food I have had in the area!β
βThis was a brilliant bar for drinking, with a classic wooden style! The red lighting and beverage displays across the wall add another feel, staff were friendly and counter is well-presented. I had a refreshing pint of Rekorderlig Cider at comfortable leather seating, which was clean too!β
βA great atmosphere good beer garden looking onto river. Had no food.β
βBest pub in the area. A proper traditional old school pub. Excellent prices and good beer. The staff are amazing and welcoming.β

βI had lived in Leeds for 4 years about 15 years ago. I still come back and visit my friends there. Previously, I had only been here at night to have a few pints with my mates, but having come back to visit Leeds after a number of years, I decided to have a Sunday roast before heading back to Manchester Airport. I made a reservation (good idea, as the place really fills up) after seeing they did a roast on Google. I cannot imagine a better Sunday roast. This was an absolute stunner! I'm bringing my Leeds-born son back next year, and we're already planning on visiting Lamb And Flag for a Sunday roast. Do yourself a favour and get yourself over to Lamb and Flag. It also doesn't hurt that it's next door to the rather picturesque Leeds Minster. I can also say that the prices aren't bad at all. Considering I had earlier spent 8 quid on two ice creams from an ice cream van, 32 pounds for a pint, a full Sunday roast, and dessert seemed like quite the deal.β
βAbsolutely loved the carvery, everything was on point with the food. Lovely setting, friendly and efficient staff will definitely be visiting again was well worth the money. I highly recommend and if I could I would have give 10 stars.β
βAn excellent local Inn with well finished b&b facilities. Lovely staff, excellent food and a super pintβ
βI had a great stay at this modern and stylish hotel. My double room was well equipped with a Nespresso machine (with four pods), plenty of coffee sachets, and a good selection of teas. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and I loved the clever touch of the TV hidden behind a sliding piece of artwork. The large windows let in loads of natural light, and the room controls made it easy to adjust the temperature and fan settings. The shower was another highlight β a spacious, low-level shower enclosure with both a rainfall and handheld shower. Water pressure and temperature were excellent. The separate sink and worktop merged just to the side of the bed area was a nice feature. Breakfast was stacked full of self serve continental options as well as orderabke cooked options including a full English, priced at Β£25 for adults, but it was included with my stay, which made it great value β and it was absolutely delicious. All the staff were friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. The hotel overall is clean, bright, and modern, with a welcoming bar area thatβs perfect for relaxing. A great stayβ
βOne of the best experiences I have had in a long time .What a gem this place is its cozy the staff are extremely well coming friendly and helpful . The food was exceptional very well presented and delicious The reasonably priced cocktails were lovely too I will return very soonβ
βCame for food, all I can say is wow, had pie chips and veg, it was beautiful, the pie was home made and full of meat and potato, and to the brim with tasty gravy, beautiful home made chips and fresh veg, not frozen FRESH, the food was hot, and it even came with a jug of thick gravy. 10 out of 10, would defo come again There were few regulars in who were extremely friendly, the lady behind the bar was extremely polite, and great at her job. Keep up the great workβ
βBrilliant alternative/rock venue that also has live actsβ
βWe ordered a variety of dishes and sundries for 6 people on Saturday. We collected and all were still hot when we got home, all very tasty, looked good in the trays. I understand there has been a change of ownership but the food was as good as before and the staff equally friendlyβ
βCracking atmosphere in the pub, popped in for a quick pint, locals give the place a great vibe with helpful and friendly staff. Football was on Haswell Keep up the good workβ
βMy sister and I stayed for the weekend and it was a lovely; secluded hotel. Fabulous afternoon tea, very good value for money. The room was spacious, clean and warm. Staff were attentive, professional and always on hand to help. Looking forward to the spa opening, we will be back.β
βI stumbled across this little gem of a pub yesterday and what a great find! I went with my Mum, sister and cousins for a wee post Christmas catch up and we all absolutely loved it. Firstly we there were 2 super cosy real fires and we could have a conversation without having to shout to at each other. The food was fantastic and the booze seriously well priced. My mum had the macaroni cheese and she loved it....she's extremely fussy, so it really must have been good. I had the fish goujons and they were equally delicious. The staff were amazing, Jackie served us and was quite possibly the friendliest person I've been served by and Jon was the jolliest of bar men. I'll definitely be back and think we'll try a roast the next time. Most definitely looking forward to visiting this cute little pub again!β
βThe food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were great as well. The restaurant has a lovely rustic feel, and the staff were friendly, polite and hardworking. I'll definitely be coming back, Highly recommend!!β
βQuite simply the best vegiburger I've had, ever. Chips were simple but cooked perfectly and well spiced. Service was very fast and friendly. Quirky interior, very informal and relaxing. Not too busy. Great for Saturday lunch.β
βAbsolutely love this pub! Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, and a brilliant selection of drinks. The food was spot onβbig portions, tasty, and came out quickly. Perfect place to relax with friends, and it always feels welcomingβ
βGreat experience passing thru Leeds and stopping for late lunch at this place. We were having north and called 20 mins ahead of arrival but still took another 20 mins for food to arrive. We had a lamb and chicken karahi, kabuli pulao, chapal kebab, chicken tikka, and lamb chops. Karahis, both on point, exactly what I would expect from an afghan place and reasonably priced, no stupid Β£30 a kilo here. The chapal kebab are probably the best I've had, super crispy edges, beautifully spiced and seasoned and moist and juicy in side. Chicken tikka was meh, but the lb chops perfectly grilled and simply seasoned. Naan, awesome, and we went thru all naan delivered. We didn't even tell them how many we need they just knew! Kabuli pulao was also great with a generous portion of rice and fall of the bone lamb. Like I said everything was reasonably priced and I would defo stop by again.β
βFrom booking online to arriving the service was fantastic. Service was excellent and Reece was stand out at ensuring our visit was enjoyable. This venue has had a makeover since my last visit and I am very impressed by all aspects. Will definitely visit again, carvery was great quality and value. Chef was very polite and friendlyβ

βWe did not stay here, they catered for my husband's funeral, just before Christmas. They did an excellent job, plenty of food, friendly staff. Made a very sad occasion end a wee bit better. Recommend.β
βI would highly recommend Judges Lodgjngs as this hotel is ideally located within easy reach of all the historic sites, the walls, shops, cafΓ©, restaurants, bars, etc. Also, the rooms are very comfortable, and all the staff are friendly and always willing to help. Jackalyn, on Reception, was always very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. She advised us that she had only recently started at The Judges Lodgings, but this was never evident, and it was lovely chatting to her throughout our stay.β
βA great afternoon with an afternoon tea on a hot sunny Thursday afternoon. Great welcome by the tea at the bar, checked the reservation and started with a cold drink before afternoon tea and cocktails. Chatty team made the afternoon go by and a great chilled atmosphere to make the afternoon enjoyable.β
βThe Milner is still upto a great standard. Staff are excelent. We were in a front facing superior room. With fantastic views of the Minster. We had a meal last night which was cooked perfectly and the breakfast this morning had a great selection and good quality. We will definely be visiting next Christmas as it is idealy situated for York city centre. Very dog friendly hotelβ
