“Lovley hidden gem, very friendly and knowable staff ,showed us which directions to walk and showed us walking routes . Very nice coffee and freshly made cakes. Can also buy their own flour , rapeseed oil and fresh bread!”

“We had our sons christening reception here, the room was big and is laid out perfect for these types of parties. They had an outdoor play area that’s perfect to keep the kids entertained! The staff are so lovely and helpful they even put out jugs of juice for the little ones. The hire was so affordable and the drinks are cheap too! “Love this place! Managed to book a table last minute on the Friday evening a 6pm. The food was amazing, as always. Never disappointed. Lovely staff, great service. Had pigeon breast, fried zucchini, olives. The pan fried salmon, with asparagus, poached egg, Jersey royal potatoes & hollandaise sauce was exceptional. There were 4 of us, and also had a risotto, and a chicken burger. No room for desserts! Great cocktails too. Have also been for breakfast and lunch before now! Would highly recommend.”

“We were lucky to have the Homebrew Tap do our drinks catering at our wedding recently and they were a great success. I've been stopping in to the Tap at the end of dog walks for a few years now and they were my first choice when it came to drinks for the wedding. Working with Jarron during the months before made the whole process very straightforward as he has a wealth of knowledge mixed with an honest and friendly professionalism. On the day itself, things couldn't have gone any better. The drink choices were superb and the service was impeccable. We really can't recommend them highly enough both as a catering team and a pub.”

Great deals at the moment where you can use the spa as well. The spa is a special place so relaxing. Just love this hotel I have been many times and just feel it gets better with each visit.”

“I walked in with my partner on Friday afternoon looking for Chinos. He was fed up as everywhere we had been they didn't have his size. The assistant straight away found his size in two different pairs and chose a shirt for him. He was so pleased we were only in there 15 minutes and he was sorted. “Had a Mega Breakfast ordered. Lots of toast, two sausages, two fries eggs, and two rashes of bacon, some fried bread as well, mushrooms and beans. I didn't need any tomatoes, and they brought plenty of butter and some French mustard as requested. Good service. Got chatting to other customers near the front windows and it had a good atmosphere nearing closing time. The toilet was a trek upstairs, but really quirky. Good price. If the sausages were slightly better quality the price would have been higher, so I was happy with my decision anyway. All good. Thank you.”

“Can’t compliment them enough. The food is excellent and the variety is eclectic, from mussels to Chilli. Great pub food at sensible prices and the beer is also priced sensibly. You can sit outside or in but the tables inside do seem to be reserved by regulars which might be a bit off putting when you walk in as you can see a sea of reserved signs! Staff are great and helpful too the sharing platter for starters was excellent. Haven’t tried the desserts but they looked good. Ant understand why people would chose anywhere else in Hoole for lunch”

“I booked 13 rooms at The Pied Bull in Chester for myself and a group of work colleagues, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The welcome on arrival was warm and genuine, and every member of staff we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating (special thanks to the ladies working when I checked in on the evening of the 26/11) The rooms were consistently clean, comfortable, and spacious, with excellent beds and generously sized showers. Everyone in our group commented on how well they slept and how well-maintained the rooms were. The blend of historic character with modern comfort added a special charm that really sets The Pied Bull apart. Breakfast was another standout: high-quality, hearty, and freshly prepared, exactly what we needed to start a busy day. For the standard of accommodation, service, and the central location, the value for money was genuinely impressive. Speaking of location, you couldn’t ask for more and a few of the group said they’d return here if they visit Chester again. Jason”

“Magical!!! They've started the Christmas display & it is literally spectacular. Can't see a Lemax display yet, but the Christmas lights arbour more than makes up for it. Going into the Christmas tree section feels like a grotto in itself! And of course, stunning decorations as always.”
