“Delicious Japanese food! I had the pork katsu don, the pork was crispy, the egg silky and the sauce was flavourful and savoury. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, authentic, tasty dishes and a wide range of options guarantees at least an 8/10, not the best I’ve had but definitely up there! :D”
“We always visit here for a breakfast, when we stay locally, and it never fails to deliver. The cafe also offers lucnh too. The food is delicious and plentiful, with a good menu range. The cakes are delicious too. Staff and management are friendly and attentive. This is a fantsastic little place.”
“I visited SW with 2 girlfriends this week. They have a new Chef - Luke and a new menu. The best restaurant meal I have had in Chester it was delicious. Great menu - I started with steak tartare followed by the monkfish in lobster sauce. All beautifully prepared and presented the flavours were perfection. The staff were wonderful. Attentive without being intrusive. We had a fantastic evening. Would highly recommend.”
“We had our wedding at The Inn at Huxley on 30.11.2024 and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue is absolutely beautiful – rustic with wooden beams that create such a warm, charming atmosphere, and the ceremony space with its glass doors made for the most stunning backdrop. The outdoor areas are equally gorgeous and added so much to the day. The food was incredible – our guests kept telling us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and we couldn’t agree more. Every course was exceptional. We had to change our date last minute and nothing was ever too much trouble. Clive was amazing throughout the entire process – supportive, responsive, and always available whenever we needed help or reassurance. The Inn at Huxley is a truly special venue, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our day there. We cannot recommend it highly enough!”
“I recently visited Falafel Xpress and had the classic falafel wrap. It was delicious! The falafel was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the wrap was filled with fresh vegetables and a tasty pickles. I highly recommend trying the tahini sauce, as it is great with everything, especially chips. The shop itself was very clean and had a nice Arabian decor and music. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I had a great experience at Falafel Xpress and would definitely recommend it to others.”
“We went for my husband's birthday and had the set lunch menu. The food was incredible, the featherblade beef wow! Lunch menu was great value for money and we really enjoyed the whole experience.”
“Would highly recommend going for a meal here. The staff were really helpful. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was was lovely. We will definitely be going again next year.”
“The food at Guroma is excellent. I particularly love the tandoori chicken and the sauce it comes with. I haven’t had anything like it and crave it when I’m not in town. I told my friends I want to marry the chicken wings! The staff are lovely too and the food is prepared with love and care. Definitely recommend!”
“Fab little cafe and great location just off M56 on way to/from North Wales. Dog friendly. Honest hearty food at fair prices. Will be back. Thanks”
“A gnome from home Belgium type bar with a cracking selection on keg and cask. And the cheese board are very good for the price”
“The Indian omelette is worth visiting this restaurant for. The interior is a vibe with a blend of Indian and chic colours, pictures and plants. The service is always extremely helpful and you're always greeted with a smile! Would recommend the green coriander chutney with the Indian omelette too, possibly one of my fave things to get here. The sweet breakfasts are also yummy with the ability to change my order easily (lactose allergy but I wanted to try a range of flavours) and the pancakes look great. I've had a range of things off the menu and would certainly take visitors with me when returning.”
“Popped in here on Easter Sunday as in the area on the off-chance they would be able to fit us in without a booking. The guy at the door was super friendly and helpful and managed to get us a table. Not a huge amount of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu but what we did have was really good.”
“We went for brunch on a quiet Monday morning. The Naughty Badger is hidden away up a staircase which leads to a small room, seating probably about 20 or so customers. We decided on The Naughty Badger as it's rated highly on local reviews, I'm going to be adding to this trend here. We were seated quickly and our coffees came even quicker, two lattes in latte glasses (not the biggest fan of them as they're more awkward to hold than cups) were brought to us at perfect drinking temperature, whoever was behind the coffee machine knew what they were doing. A rich, slightly nutty tasting coffee with a small foam top. For food, as always, I went with Eggs Benedict. At Badger, Eggs Benedict is two poached eggs atop a slice of sourdough, bacon and a paprika (I think) seasoning. The eggs were perfectly poached and rather large, with golden runny yolks. The hollandaise wasn't overwhelming, with a lemony/citrus tang to it. Three rashers of salty bacon, cooked with a crispy rind and a soft centre. My only criticism was that of the sourdough, it was thickly cut which made eating it a pain, literally. Thankfully it was only thicker on one end. Sourdough is rapidly falling off my favourite bread list with Eggs Benedict as the crust is often really hard when toasted which kind of fumbles the experience and doesn't go with how smooth the food should be. At Badger though, the bread itself was soft and lightly toasted, perfectly tearing apart as you cut into it. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at The Naughty Badger. the music wasn't for me, gave me uni vibes circa 2012 (which put it to 4 for atmosphere). But my partner loved it and vibed along. I'd definitely be looking to return should I be in Chester again. This place is well worth your time and money.”
“This place is a little gem in Blakemere Village Good beers, lovely staff/owners and great atmosphere They don’t do food but you can order from the food outlets within the centre…”
“Decided to try based on the reviews and was not disappointed. Telephoned my order through and the lady who answered was bright and friendly. The food was prepared quickly and when I picked it up I was greeted with the same warm friendly welcome. Food was piping hot, good sized portions and definitely the best tasting vegetable rolls ever! Highly recommended and will definitely be ordering from here again.”
“The selection of Asian foods available is just very good. Items are not cheap but what is these days? Plus some items are imported so it is to be expected. Overall pretty good, staff have always been nice.”
“Very nice and lively place. We went there for dinner and the pasta dishes, made by their sister place Pronto Pasta, were absolutely amazing. Also the Selekt Spiritz made by the bartender of the Venetian was great, true Venice style. Highly recommended.”
“What a FANTASTIC wee café! We had a great coffee and tea and the pie!! Yum! The history of this place is VERY interesting with the portholes and the story of how the really lovely current owners saved this building and turned it into something EVERYONE can enjoy, including sitting outside. THANK YOU so much, guys!”
“We drove in from across the border for this coffee shop and it was very worth it. Such a cool interior and a great sunny space to sit outdoors. An ideal cafe for reading a book. Coffee was tasty, but the flat white had too much milk (more like a latte). Friendly staff.”
“Popped in for the first time (Tuesday 3rd June) and I must say how impressed I was by the welcome I received from the lad behind the bar and the customers. We got talking straight away and a “Pop in a for a quick pint” moment led to three. Just moved into the area and will be joining soon.”
“Have the most perfect wedding here for our daughter at Cheshire view on the 1st August Mark made sure everything ran to plan. It was amazing. “This is a great Chinese. Best one I've had in Wales. It's tasty, not greasy or slimey like other places can be. Going back for a 2nd takeaway in a week”
“Best takeaway in flint by far! Friendly & welcoming staff. Always use this takeaway highly recommended. Nothing is a big ask for the team and food is always freshly prepared to a high standard in front of you. Best pizza and even better chicken kebab. Bero, mina and Joe work so hard to keep up with demand. Never had to wait a long time for my food despite there being many customers. Very accommodating nothing is too much for the lads. Keep up the great work x”
“Twice I've been in here now on way down to Wales. Great wee cafe, seating inside, parking outside and on main road with good close connections to and from motorway. Much better than motorway services and the lassie (Claire I think) is lovely. Well worth the short drive off motorway 3 item breakfast roll, toast or bread...£2.85.... Can't beat that! Unbiased review as all my others are.... Transportation operator fromf Scotland & well travelled in UK and Europe.”
“Some of the best fish and chips that my wife and I have had. Wish that we had a chippy like this back in Taunton. Friendly service to boot.”
“Great place to stay, very clean and the host could not be more helpful. Very quiet, and well situated a short drive from Chester.”
“Not happy at all The 5* is for the quality and taste of the food. The first time we came a few weeks ago , the spaghetti Bolognese was great and the portion size was good relative to cost. Good value for money Came again late afternoon Friday 28 Nov and once again Spaghetti Bolognese was great However come on guys , I'm not a pigeon, this time only half the portion compared to the first time , a rip off, what's going on ? Far too expensive for the amount of food on the plate . You need to do better or we won't be coming back , not good !”
